magnitude earthquake hit the city of kathmandu saturday. panelliced people ran into the roads and in the middle of the traffic circle, a monument collapsed. eight miles east of the city, the quake toppled hindu temples. all over the country of nepal, search teams are looking for survivors. but finding few. this mother is hoping her 9- year-old son is still alive. but hours of digging yesterdayed nothing. and the -- yielded nothing. and the semple was called off for the day. on mount everest, injured climbers are still being taken tough mountain. off mountain. 19 people were killed when the quake triggered a massive avalanche. >> at our base camp the guys hid behind the rocks there and that really saved them from the winds that came up. >> reporter: there are moments of brightness in nepal. this 4-month-old baby boy is doing well. he was pulled from the rubble 22 hours after the quake. and yesterday, two people were found alive. 15-year-old term baa llama was eating for clues in an overnight murder. officers were called to harvard street northwest just before 1:00 this morning. they found a man who had been shot in the head there and he died at the hospital a short time later. detectives spent most of the night at the murder scene. no word yet on possible suspect os ever a motive so far. witnesses are now recalling the horrifying stories about the day a gunman opened fire inside that colorado movie theater. james holmes is charged with 12 counts of murder and 70 counts of attempted murder. yesterday joshua nolan walked up to the witness stand with a the sentence reducing for three former educators. >> jericka duncan reports for us. >> reporter: a few weeks ago, a very angry judge jerry baxter showed no mercy for the three defendants. >> they have former atlanta educators were convicted of racketeering for conspiring to inflate scores on standardized tests. in some cases, prosecutors say educators changed wrong answers to correct ones. the original seven year prison sentences came after the three refused to admit guilt. other who is did avoided jail time but waived the right to appeal the conviction. 59-year-old sharon davis williams told me she wants to avoid even the three year reduced sentence and hasn't given up hope she may work in the atlanta public school system again. >> i plan the fight to thened. the appeal process is revoke a d.c. law that prohibits discrimination against those who have abortions. white house has threatened to veto. meanwhile the house says no to a plan to let va doctors give their parented a voice about medical marijuana. the measure failed by just three votes. supporters had pushed to lift the rule blocking va doctors from discussing the pros and cons of medical marijuana. opponents is the scene and it has been all week of a lot of protests a lot of activity and earlier this week. that violence. now it is peaceful. last night, it was peaceful and everyone here is cautiously optimistic that we will have another peaceful day here. of course the past few days have been relatively incident- free. which is why many businesses are asking stilettoeders now to -- city leaders now to lift that mandatory curfew that's been in place every day. they say it's hurting their because, for the latestest in the freddie gray case. the session is now officially in the hands of the state's attorney. the next step is determined if charges will be filed against the officers involved. there's no timetable available right now for the and when that will happen. today we expect autopsy results to be released the gray's family. sources tell us the results will show gray died of traumatic injuries to the spine and trauma to the back of his head. now if that is released today to the family and if that's made public, police and everyone here is cashly optimistic that everyone here will be peaceful once again. that the protests that will no doubt happen today will be incident-free. we are told the protests happening today at 3:00 in front. and other marches will be hering here -- happening here and throughout the weekend. that's the latest from baltimore, i'm nikki burdine, wusa9. police are looking for the person who punched the man at the top of the metro escalator. police say the suspect is this man, is the-year-old elijah -- is the-year-old elijah -- 19- year-old elijah jeremiah smith of d.c.. the metro assault happened last friday at the eastern market station. the victim was knocked out and had to be hospitalized. a d.c. man is under arrest accused of raping a nun in prince george's county. police say 27-year-oldwalk randolph broke into the nun's home wednesday night on 16th street in maryland and sexually assaulted her. randolph was later arrested at his home. detectives say he confessed to the crime. sentencing for the man dubbed the bottle bomber happening today inside the upper marlboro courthouse here in three hours. that man will learn his fate. his name, manuel joyner-bell. he is 21 years old and faces up to 21 years behind bars. he pled guilty to planting one liter bottles filled with acid and aluminum foil inside several movie theaters in virginia and here in maryland last year. the explosives now caused some minor injuries and major panic amongst movie goers, as part of the plea today in court bell will also plead guilty to the lead counts in montgomery and anne arundel counties. so today at 9:30 here in the courthouse he will plead guilty and will be sentenced to all three cases in maryland. prince george's county and anne arundel county and montgomery county as well. he will then be extradited to virginia to face charges in the commonwealth. we're live outside the upper marlboro courthouse, delia goncalves, wusa9. president obama's trade legislation a top priority his administration is in trouble. the president wants negotiating authority to complete a 12 nation transpacific partnership trade deal. but he's having a different time getting enough support from his own party. and the house is dozens of votes short of passing the bill. it would allow the president to send trade deals to congress for quick approval. the house has approved a compromise budget deal that would speed up the repeal of obamacare. at the same time, the measure called for a 7% budget hike for the pentagon. the plan now goes to the senate for a vote next week. the nonbinding resolution is not lost but it does set up another republican effort to repeal the affordable care act. last night you may have seen montgomery county fire just showed is up and it looks like a truck now leaving but it's causing slowdowns on the outer loop or that will be traveling on the outer loop of the beltway. add anywhere from 20 to 25 minutes to your drive time as a result of this situation. want to take you right now to i- 270 and show you things there. no issues as you go towards the beltway from frederick. and on
