establishing scholarships in the names of the students. they will continue that work to honor them today. she was a second-year student his wife was set to start their this past fall. her sister was an undergraduate student at nc state unc will hold a memorial service and a moment of silence at 1:15. tonight there will be a memorial at 6 pm on the north side of the nc state student union. the families of the victims as well as chancellors from both universities will be in attendance. the man accused of murdering the three is awaiting his trial. he's in central prison. the room police say the shooting may have stemmed from an ongoing and heated parking dispute at the apartment complex where the couple lived as well as the suspect families believe hicks target them because of their muslim faith. at this point the federal government is looking into the possibility of whether or not this is a hate crime and they that. >> a jury heard a murder suspect version of the night melissa
