down four teenagers they say targeted and then attacked an 11-year-old boy, take a good look here officials say this is one of the teens captured on surveillance video, all of this happened two weeks ago in the city's olney section. the teens chased the 11-year-old from a playground and into a driveway and made him strip at gun point and then beat him. >> this is disturbing, a classic example of bullying and just beyond for teenagers to do this is on 11-year-old child. it's just disturbing. >> the teen was able to get away without being seriously hurt. anyone with information is asked to call philadelphia police. the search continues after a young father was caught in the gun battle in german town. the family is still mourning and working on plans for a final good-bye. sara bloomquist is live with more on that. >> reporter: monica police believe they have very close to making arrests in this tragic case, this young father was driving down german town avenue when he picks up his 3-year-old daughter at the day care and he drove into the crossfire of two rival groups it was only by sheer luck that the child was not hit by the bullet that killed him. >> 5-year-old al ford died 24 hours after he was shot in the head while driving his car here in the 5100 block of german town avenue with his 3-year-old daughter in the backseat. ford had picked his daughter up from her day care and rival groups started firing across the street and ford was on the phone with the girl' mother and asked to speak with her daughter who was in her car seat and then the bullet entered the car. >> he gaves the phone to his daughter and says mommy wants to talk to you and at that moment the bullet strikes him in the head. ford's foot hit the accelerator and traveled two blocks before striking another vehicle and came to a stop. another video shows the shooting in progress and they expect to make a quick arrest. >> you have a hard working father never in trouble with the law, and picks up his daughter and then he is dead. very sad. >> you might expect the child's mother is distraught and heard the entire shooting happen on the cell phone. police want to hear from anybody that saw this shooting on german town avenue. >> sara, thank you. from our new jersey newsroom tonight. billionaire carl icahn announced he will close the trump taj mahal in the coming weeks where workers have been on strike for weeks now. they blame the workers for causing him to shutter the casino after the labor day weekend. the local 54 is set to become the longest in atlantic city history tomorrow. the statement from the casino owners says the workers will get layoff notices before the weekend. >> there is a showdown shaping up with new jersey's largest teacher's union and one of the states top lawmakers. >> members of the new jersey education association rally outside of senate president, steve sweeney's office in west depford today. they want sweeney and his colleagues to pass a resolution initiative. right now a driver is recovering after he was involved in a fiery crash and he may have a philadelphia police officer to thank for his life. because the officer was in the right place at says that this is the type of work that officers do every day. the driver survived with a concussion, facial injuries and bumps and bruises but he is alive. >> saw in the distance what looked like a fire ball. >> district officer joel rice was oning from northwest detectives at midnight and came across this wreckage. the mangled done charger had crashes moments earlier. hitting a median and then hitting a parked van. the charger caught fire. >> the flames were starting to accumulate in the engine department. and go up the windshield. >> the driver was sprawled across the front seat unconscious, he knew he had to get the driver out and through an open window he was able to open the door and around that time a passing private ambulance company stopped. >> the the help i pulled the male out of the car as the flames were growing. >> neighbors watched in horror as the flames grew. many came running as they heard the impact. >> heard a big crash and i came out and there was a car on fire. >> the impact was very, very intense because there was no braking. >> porter grant's van is totalled but what is important is that the officer was able to pull the driver out. >> more than luck, it's god send. >> the commissioner spoke to officer rice and praises his quick action. >> officer rice performed heroically can't say enough, undoubtedly saved that individual's life. >> in boot road and no jam on 202 in chester county now that three lanes are open at 401 is moving. and in newport, delaware, a crash is shutting down james street stay on 141 to deal with that. we'll check
