we know two will meet face-to-face. but the community is throwing a street festival. some people are wondering whether that should really happen. greg: should it be a festival? is that in a way making light of something, very, very serious that happened. there is a conversation underway. look at this footage from august of 1991. rosanna: i remember. they were throwing over police vans. it was very, very dangerous situation. greg: let's go to kerry drew, hi, kerry. reporter: many new yorkers vividly recall the race riots in crown heights. members of the victims families will meet at at deli on coney island remembering families killed 25 years ago this week. >> i was shock. genuinely shocked. reporter: his brother was stabbed to death during the crown heights riots 25 years ago. they celebratory and festival. he calls the event inappropriate. >> it wasn't tasteful or appropriate. it was considered disgraceful. reporter: it was sparked by the death of-year-old gavin cato who was struck and killed by a car carrying a jewish leader. during the three days of violence, nearly 200 people. rosenbaum, 29-year-old jewish student from australia was we don't think this activity to to commemorate my brother's murder. >> it's a celebration how people came together after a very tumultuous and difficult period. reporter: brooklyn borough president eric adams is among elected officials to attend sunday's event called, one crown heights. it was planned by leaders in the black and jewish communities and meant to show unity. >> that community saw how to turn pain into purpose. this is the result of it. yesteryears an event like this with the jewish and communities of colors would get together. out of the death it gave birth to those communities coming together. reporter: adams offered an invitation to rosenbaum's brother, but rosenbaum said that is not true. >> he hasn't picked up the phone. even if he did i wouldn't turn up. i just don't think this is appropriate. reporter: norman rosenbaum flew in from australia this week. cato's father at 1:00 this afternoon at the deli. turns out the families kept in touch all these years. that is the latest from midwood, brooklyn. back to you. greg: that is something else they kept in touch. thank you, kerry drew. rosanna: it got a little crazy yesterday at jfk airport. there was power outage and they had problems at one the terminals. they couldn't get the bags on can a sell. greg: on the heels of sunday night there was of gunfire at the airport, remember that? rosanna: yeah. greg: all kinds of chaos broke out. yesterday the power briefly came back before going out again, this time for hours. escalators, elevators, baggage screening areas were shut down. american airlines allowed people to change flights without a fee due to the hassle. rosanna: terminal is also used by royal jordanian and air berlin and finnair. what is going on at jfk airport? older people should not be concerned? what are the symptoms? >> it can affect anyone. symptoms include rash, fever, joint pain, red-eyes, occurring 10 days after affected by a mosquito. for most healthy people you will get a couple days of illness not feeling great and it goes particularly careful, because it is linked to a defect of microcephaly with smaller than normal brains and. we haven't heard how zika could affect elderly. not a good situation in general. pregnant women or families considering becoming pregnant need to be the most careful when it comes to zika. greg: mayor de blasio urges congress to approve money for zikaimportant to try to use moso repellant, if you have a yard get rid of water. >> 10 days after --people don'ty symptoms so. greg: 80%, that means 20% do! rosanna: us did it say in the system for how long? still an effect proven. it is important to control fever if you're pregnant, because if you don't that can have effectsfetus. talk to your ob/gyn what the safe pain reliever would be. not having to throw out the tool noll. i tell my pregnant patients the more you stay away from medicine the better. greg: the more you stay away from medicine in general. >> agreed. greg: and wine and cigarettes. >> agreed. doctor?
