filed moments ago. first, investigators -- about 45 minutes ago released the name of that wounded officer. he is iowa. as you said, we are told he was grazed in the stomach. this all happen overnight here at the jail. let you use a video. about 2 hours ago, i was the first reported here at the magistrates office as a suspect danie mcmullen was booked on several charges. he now faces charges which includes all of the deadly weapon with intent to kill. cops say he was initially arrested for misdemeanor peeping at the home of his estranged wife when the officer outside the jail here he pulled a 380 handgun from his back pants area and that is when we are told officer was shot. the big question, how did the suspect under arrest managed to get a loaded firearm inside the intake area of the jail and then use that weapon to shoot the arresting officer. of course, the question we are asking durham police . we will follow the story all day with more information on twitter and wncn.com and back here on the news at 5. this morning the incident comes just a couple of days after activist held a memorial walk in vigil outside of the durham county jail. families and friends of 2 men who died while in custody at the jail were also there at the jail. matthew kane died 2 months ago. his family demanding answers as to what happened. >>people are dying because they are not getting what they need. >>the sheriffs office said they are still investigating the death. as for dedicatory, authorities attributed his death to a drug overdose -- dennis mcmurray, authorities attributed his death to
