at the moment, and when they get here, for part of the area they should still be strong as they move in. the severe threat tomorrow, this yellow shaded area i'm showing through you parts of the lehigh home on bridge street in the long crest section of philadelphia. police are telling us a 19-month-old girl fell out of the first floor window around 8:30 tonight. she has a cracked skull and a concussion. we're told the child is in stable condition at the hospital. investigators are looking into just how it happened. a security guard was viciously attacked outside a liquor store. police say it all started because two women wanted a buy alcohol but one of them didn't have an i.d. today, philadelphia police released the video of the august attack in hopes of identifying the suspects. nbc 10's nefertiti jaquez talked to the security guard on the wine and spirits shop. nefertiti, he feared for his life? >> reporter: yeah, jim, he was when he asked two women to leave the store, he thought it was done. two of their male friends showed up and they beat him to the ground. >> i didn't think i was going to make it out of that situation alive. >> reporter: the security guard recalls the day he was beaten to badly he nearly lost his life. >> it was a scary situation. >> reporter: it happened last month while he was working at this liquor store along american street. the entire altercation which police say started with these two women denied alcohol was caught on video. >> you can't scream and yell in the store, you know, i'm going to have to escort you out of the building. >> reporter: police say the two women got upset when the store clerk asked both for their i.d.s in order to purchase liquor. when one couldn't provide it, they were denied and that's when the victim said they lost it and started screaming. he asked them to leave the store but instead cops say the women called their friends who got there in seconds. together the group beat the guard to the ground. >> all i could just feel was a lot of people kicking and punching me. >> reporter: if you look closely, you can see one of the women grab a vodka bottle from behind the counter and start beating the vkt over the head with it. >> when she grabbed the bottle, she swung at me. >> reporter: now a month later the 33-year-old who suffered a concussion and can barely walk because of the beating says he just wants this group off the streets. >> i can't do the things that i would normally do if i wasn't hurt or if the situation never took place. >> reporter: and tonight the victim tells us he doesn't know when his doctor will clear him to go back to work. as for police, they ask if you know any of these suspects to give them a call. live outside police headquarterseheadquarters en tonight, nefertiti jaquez, nbc 10 news. these men are accused of stealing $14,000 from an elderly man in bensalem today. here's how they got the money in the first place. >> they flashed fake money to him, we believe was not fake money at this time. $20,000, if you get us $14,000, we can turn it into $120,000. we need some way to deposit it. they had all this money and didn't feel comfortable with the banking system in america. >> the men wick picked up the victim at a wawa, drove him to several banks then parks casino at bensalem. it was at the casino where the victim was able to get a $14,000 credit card advance. after that point, they went to a dunkin' donuts where police say the suspects distracted the man and took off with his money driving a white van. a victim's plea for the public's help tonight. two masked gunmen opened fire at a busy philadelphia grocery store eight days ago, stole $70,000 from a businessman headed to the bank. nbc 10's george spencer covered that story when it happened last thursday night. george, this evening that injured businessman called you to tell his story for the first time? >> reporter: yeah, jim, he is determined to keep this story alive and determined to keep the tips coming in. it was about 6:00 last thursday night this parking lot full of evening shoppers, when those robbers stormed up. tonight, that victim told me he has not been able to sleep ever since. >> it entered in the back and exited right here. >> reporter: this evening the victim showed us the path of a bullet through his right arm. a bullet that he believes could have easily killed him in the front seat of his own car in front of dozens of witnesses. you say it feels like a nightmare. >> honestly, i couldn't sleep any single night since that night. >> reporter: you haven't slept? >> i haven't slept. every night it keeps coming back. >> reporter: that victim who did not want to be named says the only thing that will bring him peace is the capture of the two masked men seen racing away in this white minivan. nose suspects allegedly waited for him in this parking lot for more than an hour. knowing that he'd come to deposit his business receipts. $70,000 last thursday. >> it was a planned attempt. >> reporter: a planned attack? >> surely. 100% planned. watched me. they knew my vehicle. >> reporter: the 37-year-old victim owns several area businesses. he believes a pair of customers from the bank or the grocery store who'd seen him there before were behind the attack. you think they're willing to kill someone? >> of course, they will. they will. what they're looking at is money, is dollars. they don't care if a life is gone. >> reporter: because they wore masks, philadelphia police know little about the suspects beyond their getaway car. that white dodge with roof racks. but their victim worries the men are willing to attack again. >> if these guys who did it are on the street, tomorrow is it's going to happen to anybody on the street. >> reporter: you think they could strike again? >> of course. >> reporter: police confirm tonight they do need tips from the public in order to crack this case. there's now $10,000 in reward money on the table. $5,000 coming from law enforcement. the other $5,000 coming from the victim, himself. we're live tonight in the northeast, i'm george spencer, nbc 10 news. joan rivers' funeral is set for sunday morning now. tonight we've learned even more tests are needed to pinpoint her exact cause of death. the 81-year-old comedian died yesterday at mt. sinai hospital in new york. she went into a doctor's office last week for a routine procedure and went into cardiac arrest. the new york city medical examiner's office says the cause and manner of death is still unknown tonight. rivers will be laid to rest at a private invitation-only service sunday in new york. upstate new york couple and the pilot missing tonight after a private plane lost contact and crashed this afternoon. the pilot reported a problem after taking off from rochester headed for florida. moments later the pilot stopped responding. u.s. fighter jets followed the plane until it reached cuban airspace then had to peel off and they reported seeing that pilot slumped over in the cockpit. the plane eventually crashed off the coast of jamaica. the search for the wreckage has been suspended for the night. president obama returned home a short time ago after a long flight back from the nato summit. president worked on building a coalition to take out isis. >> not going to happen overnight, but we are steadily moving in the right direction and we are going to achieve our goal. we are going to degrade and ultimately defeat isil. >> the u.s. and ten allies agreed today at the summit in wales to squeeze the financial resources of the militants. president obama confirmed a successful mission this week, the killing of a top terrorist leading in somalia in a drone attack tuesday. the president is again ruling out u.s. boots on the ground in iraq. the secretary of the department of veterans affairs says the va medical facility in philadelphia needs a few good men and women to help local vets. robert mcdonald visited our area this afternoon. says the hospital's made progress but has 160 medical positions to fill. he says if more people are hired, that would translate into less time veterans have to wait for appointments. the center serves about 60,000 veterans a year. tonight, a suspect is behind bars charged with murdering a man found in the suspect's burned out vehicle. police say 21-year-old rosario killed rafael rivera. police found rivera's body in the passenger seat, shot several times. police say an argument led to the murder. it's the final weekend before it's back to school for thousands of children in philadelphia. school starts on monday. there are fewer school security officers because the district budget is short $81 billion. some police officers at the high school level have been reassigned to other schools and some buildings will even have to share officers. count on nbc 10 to help you get ready for school. our reports continue monday morning when jersey teacher faces criminal charges for allegedly having a sexual relationship with one of her students. a grand jury indicted callie of wall township monmouth county today. she's accused of having sex at home with a 15-year-old freshman student she taught at wall high school. the relationship allegedly started in january of 2013. warnick was 22 years old at the time. she's charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. former eagles head coach, andy reid, is expected to testify in his son's trial. jury selection begins this month in his son's civil trial. britt reid is sued over an alleged road rage incident in january of 2007 in montgomery county. larry johnson wants $50,000 in damages after he says reid pointed a gun at him along a west conshohocken road. andy reid may be subpoenaed to testify but his coaching duties in kansas city could limit the time he could attend. local little league star mo'ne davis continues to shine in the celebrity spotlight go into tomorrow, though, we're going to see some changes with our weather. still a hot and humid start to the weekend. we will have thunderstorms mainly late in the day saturday. mostly the late afternoon and evening hours. lasting into the night for some areas. some of these storms for tomorrow could also be strong in parts of the area. after they leave, we're looking at a cooler and drier day as we go into sunday. just in time for the eagles home opener. i'll show you that forecast in a minute. temperatures, 79 in philadelphia. fairly warm for this hour. warm and humid outside. 8 0 in wilmington. mid 70s through the lehigh valley. tomorrow will be another day with temperatures near 90 degrees. here are all the storms. ahead of this we'll be hot and humid. that will also help to fuel the storms as they move in. as you saw back off to the west, we have a line of storms and this is what will move in as we go late in the day tomorrow. it's all part of a cold front. behind it we have cooler and drier air and that's what will move in as we go into sunday. the cooler and drier air. so first alert day is out for tomorrow because of the storms that will be moving in. mainly in the late afternoon and evening hours. the strongest storms could be areas north and west of philadelphia. heavy rain and wind with a lot of the storms, too. that's mostly going to be through the lehigh valley and poconos. when i say north and west of philadelphia. so for lehigh, northampton counties including allentown, carbon, monroe kths counties we have a threat of severe weather. heavy rain, strong winds, lightning, possible hail. as these storms move into that area, they're also going to swing through the rest of the area. here's what future weather shows. tonight, we're going to stay mainly dry. we could have a couple passing showers overnight. early tomorrow morning, we shouldn't see too much. through the afternoon hours, we could have quite a bit of sunshine in some spots. a hot, humid day. through the afternoon, though, we could have some storms certainly flaring up by about 5:00 p.m. moving into the philadelphia area. even more behind that by about 8:00 p.m. into the lehigh valley. see the storms north and west of philadelphia. this line continues to move through as well. so we will be dealing with storms in the afternoon and also in the evening. and for some areas, especially in new jersey, lasting into tomorrow night. but the good news is the storms do clear out. as we go into sunday. so for your eagles forecast for sunday, we're going it be drying off. 75 by 1:00 p.m. a cooler day. lower humidity by 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon, temperatures about the upper 70s. along the shore tomorrow, for most of the day, we could see a couple showers early in the morning. most of the day we'll stay dry. it will be a windier day along the shore tomorrow. warm and humid. late thunderstorms on sunday. mid 70s. for tonight, though, 73 for the low in philadelphia. mild and humid. some low clouds. by tomorrow morning, hot and humid in the afternoon. temperature around 90 degrees. late thunderstorms, mainly afternoon/evening hours. some of these storms could be on the strong side. so if you have the saturday night plans, just remember that. into sunday, improving conditions and stay around 80 degrees to start next week. >> thanks, sheena. amy fadool from
