the primary and where do you think that young voters stand on this primary? excited? complacent? we'll start with you. >> i think they're excited. personally from what we've seen it hasn't been that hard to mobilize people to come out and campaign for one candidate for another. no matter where they stand. >> it's still contested for democrats. >> it's still contested but i feel like a lot of young millennials are taking a stance either way. at least on the democratic side. whether going for sanders or clinton. >> young republicans? >> while it was a contested primary we had a lot of excitement from millennials. there was a lot of turnout. a lot of folks were engaged with one candidate or another. i think that's dropped off a little bit since the race has narrowed down to just they're driving home what they need to. they're not going to get the added buoyancy. >> in terms of issues, which drive people, young millennials, young voters to the polls and which keep them away? >> the top two i've been hearing, the economy and debt, college tuition. those are things people have to touch on. if you're graduating college in this time you're concerned about getting a job. you're concerned about paying back your student loans and the candidates can hone in to that and make that central part of our candidacy, i feel like they will get the vote. >> absolutely. so politicians on either side want to attract voters, that's going to be the way to do it i think donald trump has a little more of that star power than our previous nominees have had. i think there's a potential he could generate a significant amount of turnout. it's going to come down to the next six months and what he does to really get them fired up. >> we'll wait to see what the candidates do.
