. 7:00. we continue to follow developing news in france. police are locked in two different stand-offs right now. one involves the gunman in the newspaper masacre. the other is with a man suspected of killing a female police officer. coming up in two minutes, alex savidge will explain why police now believe it is all connected. good morning. welcome to mornings on 2. it's friday, january 9th. i'm tori campbell. >> good morning. i'm dave clark. let's talk about your weather and traffic and get you moving this morning. steve, how's it looking for us? >> cloudy, but the lows are not cold as they have been. the cloud cover holding lows up. there's been very warm air in higher elevations. that's also coming down as well, due to this system. it's spinning in a lot of cloud cover, sprinkles or light showers, not amounting to much even if it does happen. the only fly in the ointment for the morning is patchy fog in a few locations, but generally cloudy to mostly cloudy. we'll continue that theme throughout the afternoon and evening hours. 40s and 50s now on the temps. in fact, menlo park, palo alto, woodside, 45, 46, 47. foster city, 48. everyone's close, and theres finally a little westerly breeze. not much. it was 6 miles per hour at sfo. all week long, offshore breeze for the coast, in the 70s to near 80. not today. couple systems move in today, another one on the weekend. mostly cloudy. they won't do much, but give us a lot of clouds and cool us down a bit. temperatures in the 50s, 60s, coming down just a couple of days each day. there's something going on on the golden gate bridge this weekend, sal? that's right. we'll have a whole expanded section on that in a moment, but i want to show you who's going to be the star if we were to make inan a minute objects. it is a little lighter than usual getting into the city, but this weekend, you'll see more people using that bridge. we're also checking the east bay traffic and north and southbound interstate 880 looks good in front of the coliseum. if you're taking a flight out of oakland, no trouble on the freeway. one of the trouble spots has been 580 livermore, earlier accident, things beginning to clear up, but it's not as smooth as you would like on a friday heading west out there. about the golden gate, we have been talking about it for months now, that they are going to close it this weekend saturday and sunday, part of tonight and also part of monday. we have more information on this weekend's bridge closure on our website, ktvu.com. just click on web links for details on alternate routes and expanded bus service. we have the whole thing there. i want to show you this video quickly here, because the merge is going to be a little different if you're driving in from southbound 101 and crossing into san francisco. it's just going to be just a slight bit changed with that new movable median barrier. again, we'll be following this all morning. terra has been talking to business owners. we'll have a report coming up shortly. tori, back to you. >> thank you, sal. 7:03. all morning we have been following the developing news out of france, where is just after 4:00 in the afternoon there. there are now two hostage stand- offs. the first involves the brothers accused of the charlie hebdo masacre. the other stand-off involves a gunman suspected of killing a french police woman. ktvu's alex savidge is in our newsroom with the terrorist connections here. >> reporter: good morning. paris is a city in stand-off. police have surrounded a kosher grocery store, where a gunman is holding at least six people hostage, including women and children. there is word of shots being fired at that scene. one person, possibly wounded. because that situation is playing out at a jewish market, police are taking precautions. they have just ordered shops to close in one of paris' well- known jewish neighborhoods. we're also learning this morning that the gunman inside that market is believed to be the man in this mug shot that was just put out by authorities. he and another woman are suspected of shooting and killing a 25-year-old paris police officer trainee yesterday. that killing has now been linked by authorities to the original terror attack on wednesday at the offices of the newspaper charlie hebdo. at the same time, there is also this, a separate stand-off now unfolding near the charles degaul airport outside of paris. police believe they have cornered two suspects inside a printing business. the two wanted gunmen, brothers, have been on the run since wednesday when authorities say they killed 12 people in the masacre at the charlie hebdo offices. u.s. officials say the brothers do have ties to al-qaeda in yemen and this morning the two suspected terrorists are believed to be holding one woman hostage at that printing business. negotiations are ongoing with those two brothers. again, police in the paris area, now involved in two separate stand-offs with potential terror suspects, tori, two very dangerous situations. we're keeping an eye on both cases. >> all right, and i've been talking, communicating with my friend in paris. she said it is just terrifying there. and she and i think a lot of other people want to leave, would love to go to the countryside and get away from the city. >> reporter: scary place to be right now, you can imagine. >> thank you, alex. u.s. attorney general eric holder will travel to paris this weekend to attend an international migo con convenienced by the french ministry of the interior in response to the attacks, including discussions on addressing terrorist threats, foreign fighters and countering violent extremism. 7:06. meantime, five students were arrested in santa rosa after what appears to be a gang- related beating inside a bathroom at montgomery high school. police say eight students confronted a 14-year-old boy wednesday morning. the 14-year-old reportedly had been joking he was a member of a gang. police say the suspects who beat him, they were real gang members. police say five of them surrounded the boy. one of them punched him in the face. another one threatened to beat him again if he called police. meantime, in concord, another possible gang-related attack. a teenager is in critical condition after being shot at and stabbed. he was attacked wednesday, about 10:00 p.m. on grant street near noll drive. the 13-year-old victim was walking with a friend when a car pulled up alongside them. he says two men got out of the car and asked if he belonged to a gang. when he said no, one of the men fired a shot at him, but missed. then the other man stabbed him several times. investigators are looking to see if this attack is connected to other similar attacks recently. 7:07. south korean pop star bobby kim is being investigated by the fbi, after he was escorted off a plane at san francisco airport. he is accused of sexual harassment. ♪ >> the 41-year-old kim is accused of inappropriately touching a female flight attendant and also verbally abusing her while he was intoxicated. it happened wednesday, five hours after his korean airlines flight left south korea. kim's manager says the singer was angry because he was mistakenly seated in economy class, even though he had asked for a seat upgrade. if you love cars, san jose is a good place to be this weekend for the silicon valley international auto show. ktvu is live in san jose, where we have been checking out the latest models, including hybrid cars. janine? >> reporter: yes, there's so many cars here to see. 350 on display, and some of them aren't even in the show rooms yet. that's why it's so great to get a sneak peek. we're looking right now at the mercedes benz s-class. lot of times when you go to these auto shows, the fancier cars, they still leave them locked. well, these are all unlocked. it's nice to be able to get in and just get a feel for what it's like. this one is $98,000! to get a little bit more information on exactly what this features, i'm joined by didi cast with the silicon valley auto show. tell me about this car. >> the mercedes benz s-class is the top of the line for mercedes benz. what i think they do the best is the creature comforts. my favorite feature in the car is heated make savaging seats. there's seven different settings. you can have heated, simulated heated stone massaging seats. there's a fragrance diffuser in here, amazing sound system. you name it, you can now get it in your car. >> reporter: oh, my gosh! that is crazy. to show you another luxury car, here we go to the infiniti. this is a hybrid vehicle. you were telling me 14 years ago, it was only just the prius- - >> yeah, 14 years ago there was a toyota and honda sacramento international airport. the united airlines flight was headed to denver. it was about 7 miles out when it had to turn around. passengers reported smelling smoke and say they saw a flight attendant running down the aisle with a fire extinguisher. the plane's pilot says there was no serious damage to the plane. it is still being inspected. a san francisco dentist who lost his high school ring while surfing 35 years ago now has the ring back, thanks to a treasure hunter with integrity. robert fowler says he had only had the ring a few weeks when he went surfing in 1979. he was 18 then. he says he still remembers the moment he lost the gold ring with the block letters mts for the name of his high school on the front and his initials engraved on the back. >> i remember the ring slipping off my finger and into the, you know, into the dark frigid water and just going, that's it. >> i just feel great. you know, the guy kind of like won the lottery for the day, you know? >> larry foresig was able to find fowler through the school and set up a meeting. fowler thanked him with a special bobble bottle of giants edition champagne. seems appropriate. he also says he will not wear the ring surfing again. >> no more. 7:16. a dog in tulsa, oklahoma apparently likes jewelry and has very expensive taste. a labrador puppy swallowed her owner's $23,000 engagement and wedding band. stephanie lamb noticed her two dogs were by the table where she put the rings, when the rings disappeared, and she knew something was wrong. she took both dogs to the vet to be x-rayed to determine which dog ate her rings. >> i knew that it was sierra because she's just a little bit of a trouble maker, kind of the instigator. >> but there's good news. sierra's okay. the vet surgically removed both rings. he also found rocks and twigs in her stomach. stephanie's engagement ring is okay, but her wedding ring is damaged. kind of beat up. >> looks a little bent. >> we had a beagle once. he ate a stick of butter, the wrapper and everything. dogs. 7:17. let's check in with sal, checking in on the commute. >> we have a new crash reported on the east shore freeway, westbound 80 dm the area of carlson. we've had the east shore freeway timed out, and it's a 29-minute drive between the car keen nas bridge and the maze. no doubt the crash has something to do with that drive being slow. people will be using that to get into fran where they normally might not. if you look at the golden gate bridge, traffic looks good. remember, they will start making closures this evening and it's going to be closed all weekend saturday and sunday, monday, until 4:00 in the morning. if you're driving this morning onto any of the side roads, you might notice some of that construction equipment is getting into place. steve, let's check on today's forecast. sal, except for celebrations and anniversaries, has the bridge ever been closed? >> it was closed before, i remember in 1987, they closed it for people to walk on. >> but for something like this? >> no, i don't remember anyway. >> i didn't mean to put you on the spot. >> no, that's okay. >> thank you, sir. we do have mostly cloudy skies, a little haze, maybe patchy fog. you're listening, but you're not watching, there's your day. wednesday, we had sunshine, record-setting temps yesterday. today and into the weekend, we'll get more clouds. it will be cooler. early next week looks breezy, upper 50s, low 60s. the last real rain was christmas eve. been a long time. if anything does fall, it would be the 18th. i didn't go with the 17th. two of the forecast models, which were very bullish yesterday, backed off. one is showing a stubborn ridge of high pressure, which would that be? the canadian long-range model shows ridge city, which is high pressure, might be favoring that. long way to go. lot of cloud cover to go today. 40s and 50s. the lows have been coming up and up, dewpoints coming up. that means there's a little patchy fog. higher elevations, again, santa cruz mountains, about 68, 70 degrees on wednesday. they are coming down. lower elevations coming up. a little bit of an easterly breeze for a few, but now components near the coast, more of a westerly breeze. the coast was windy and warm. that's changing. sesurface temps, 59 degrees, really warm this time of year. chicago, 3 below. minneapolis, 3 below. as long as that's in place, these fast systems break through and we don't get much other than what we have today, a weak system that falls apart. it might give us a few sprinkles or light showers, but generally a lot of cloud cover. clouds today, clouds on saturday, probably into the weekend. two weak systems, mostly cloudy pattern, patchy fog, hazy skies and temperatures a sprinkle or light shower, but not a big deal. afternoon temps, 50s mainly for a few and 60s. so it's going to be a day where everyone's closed. clouds into the weekend. early next week, mostly sunny, andre crouch died yesterday at the age of 72 at a los angeles hospital, five days after having a heart attack. among his many honors, reverend crouch won seven grammys. he was inducted into the gospel music hall of fame, worked with all the giants, elton john, quincy jones, michael jackson, and the list goes on and on. andre crouch was born in san francisco, grew up in the san fernando valley. he will be missed. andre crouch has died at the age of 72. >> great voice. >> incredible artist. >> very talented. 7:21. after 30 years on capitol hill, california senator barbara boxer announces she will not seek re-election. she told the news in this video with her grandson. in 20 minutes, the early frontrunner showing interest in taking her place. >> punched her in the face. >> next, a 72-year-old woman was beaten and robbed at a bart station. the clues police have trying to catch the attacker. bulldog: the red tags mean save up to 40% on clearance mattresses. get up to 48 months [laughter] bulldog: mattress discounters' year end clearance sale ends soon! . police sources tell ktvu that maurice speights was at a club early monday morning. witnesses say gang members tried to rob him of gold chains in a parking lot across the street from the club. speights ran from the group and was not hurt. he played in the warriors game on monday night, which they won. jonathan martin is making headlines, after he helped to stop a shoplifter in los angeles. he broke the news on twitter, saying, quote, just took out a dude trying to rob a versace store. #civicduty. martin says he and college friends from stanford were shopping when they saw the shoplifting taking place. he helped mall security chase the suspect down. martin says he punched the person five to eight times before they could control the man. 7:25. the suspect is a coward. that's how dublin police are describing a man accused of beating and robbing a woman near a very busy bart station and they are still searching for that suspect. on wednesday afternoon, the 72- year-old woman was walking just before 12:30 on golden gate drive near the west dublin- pleasanton bart station. she says the man came from behind her. there was a struggle and an eyewitness says a man violently punched her and grabbed her purse. when police got there, officers found the woman on the sidewalk, bleeding from a big cut on her face. >> just the split second when he punched her in the face, he hit her so hard that i saw her feet fly up in the air. >> the suspect was looking for a victim that couldn't fight back. cowardly. >> the suspect was seen getting into a tan toyota camry or honda accord. it may have been driven by an accomplice. the car was last seen heading towards an onramp of interstate 680. an unusual situation at a lexus dealership, after a driver complained there was a little too much purring coming from the engine of his luxury suv. the source of the problem? a trapped kitten. service technicians began a rescue mission that resembled a delicate hospital operation on the suv. they believe the cat somehow made its way through the wheel well and got its head stuck in a vent in the grill. workers had to cut out a section of the car and snip the plastic vent to free the scared kitten. >> you know, we saved a life. >> the owner of the suv says the kitten must be a stray that climbed into the engine for warmth. an assistant service manager adopted it and named it rc, not after the lexus rc, but as an acronym for rescued kitten. 7:27. are you willing to pay for it? the proposal coming from president obama for the government to pay for community college tuition for millions of students if they are willing to put in the effort. >> we're live in sausalito, where businesses are concerned about the closure of the golden gate bridge, so much so that some are taking drastic measures. we'll let you know what those are, next. >> good morning. we are looking at the have a weak system coming by, but all clouds, not much else. we'll see about the weekend, coming up. 7:30 in the morning here in san francisco. it's 4:30 in the afternoon in paris. we're following the developing news of two hostage stand-offs in france. you're looking at a live coverage from sky news reporting on the two stand- offs. in one case, there's a kosher supermarket where at least six people are being held against their will. that suspect is accused of gunning down a female police officer yesterday, and he's threatening to kill everyone. >> he is saying if the police storm this place and the other stand-off location, near the airport, he'll kill everyone. that's where the two brothers suspected of the attack at the newspaper, they have now taken a woman hostage. paris is on edge, at least one school has been evacuated. all jewish shops have been told to close down as a safety precaution. so it is an out-of-control, very fluid situation and we'll be watching it and bringing you pictures like this and the latest information as soon as it comes in. >> the area around the eiffel tower, my friend says that has closed as well, a big area for tourists. we continue to do have cloudy skies, hazy, maybe patchy fog out there. that's really the only change. but remember, we started the week off with sunshine. wednesday, we had record highs. let's get to it out there. there's got to be a satellite picture. there we go, cloud cover. this is associated with a tiny little system, a little spin in the atmosphere. that's all it's doing. your morning commute, if you head out the door right now, it's patchy fog and cloudy, no other issues than that. mostly cloudy at noon. clouds, hazy skies. 40s, 50s on temps. they come up to the cloud cover, not only locally, but even to the north where we had very cold temps. 20s, 30s not that long ago. now it's all 40s. everyone's going to be within the same range. there's that system, but i think i'll head down towards l.a. but it is giving us the cloud cover. could be isolated showers, a little lift in the sierra nevada. 50s, 60s on temps. here's sal with an update on the golden gate. that's right. we're looking at all the commutes, steve. the san mateo bridge, we had a stalled vehicle there westbound and traffic, a little bit heavy now, heading across that san mateo bridge, although they have a shoulder now. that has made a huge difference. you're probably wondering what i'm talking about, if you move over to the bay area in the last few years. the san mateo bridge, whenever it got a stall, got really bad. now that stall is on the shoulders, not causing too much of a delay. you see the flashing lights from that tow truck. bay bridge toll plaza is lighter than usual. there's a little bit of a backup here in those middle lanes. the bay bridge is going to be taking a lot of the traffic into san francisco because, as you know, the golden gate bridge will close. closures begin tonight. we have a live report coming up from tara in just a moment. let's go to the maps here. i want to show you where most of the slow traffic is right now, the east bay. southbound 880 right now between let's say 92 and fremont, a little bit slow heading south. 580 traffic has lightened up. right now on the golden gate bridge, traffic does look good. i want to mention that businesses in sausalito are worried about the golden gate closure this weekend. they say they are sending workers home this weekend, some businesses even closing. tara moriarty joins us now with more. >> reporter: good morning, sal. the good news we want to mention is the fact that hotels are still booked. lot of folks did get calls at the desk saying how do we get from the airport to sausalito. nobody is canceling their reservation. that's good news. it is a different story when it comes to shops and restaurants. we had the chance to head into a mexican eatery and spoke to the manager there who says she is actually going to be sending home servers and bartenders and perhaps even take a night off herself. we spoke to one souvenir shop owner who says after being in business 35 years, open 365 days a year, she will close saturday and sunday because she expects little demand for t- shirts and key chains. we asked some business owners if they thought the shutdown would impact them. >> with a lot of people on the san rafael bridge, that's the only discomfort for us. >> we really enjoy marin. >> wall all the tourists. >> without all the tourists, right. >> do you have any plans? >> no, just to enjoy the mountains and drive around and not have the crowd. >> reporter: now, tourists can still ride rental bikes in sausalito or walk, since the pedestrian walk on the west side will be open. the east side will not. they can also take the ferry back and forth. the golden gate carries some 80,000 cars in both directions on a saturday and sunday. there's really no replacing that with bikes, buses or ferries. of course if you live here, this may be the perfect weekend, coming back live, the bridge way cafe owners say she expect business should not be impacted greatly. she has a lot of locals and believes a lot of tourists will come by. positive thinking here in sausalito. back to you in the studio. >> we'll be covering this all weekend, the opening on monday as well. thank you, tara. 7:36. this morning, governor brown unveils his budget plan for the next year. the governor is scheduled to present his spending plan at the state capitol at 10:00 this morning. reportedly, he is not giving in to the university of california's threat to raise tuition unless he gives the university system more money. instead, sources say the government's budget will include the same $120 million increase he has previously proposed, on the condition that uc does not raise tuition. the governor's budget will include money for high speed rail, an expansion of the medical program. the budget will also address unfunded retiree programs and plans to pay down the state's debt. happening today, talk of free tuition for millions of americans college students. pam cook's in the studio now with some of the details. sounds interesting, pam. >> reporter: it certainly does. this is a plan by president obama to make college more accessible and we will get all the details today. president obama is just getting ready to leave joint base andrews. we have a live picture there, taking a look. we're waiting for the president to come out. we don't know if he will stop and speak at all. but again, this is a live picture. he is leaving there and headed for a community college in knoxville, tennessee this morning, where he is set to talk about a program called america's college promise. it will benefit an estimated 9 million students. now, this is what we know so far. under the proposal, students would be eligible for free tuition at a community college if they attend at least half time and they maintain a grade point average of at least a 2.5. the white house says the goal is to make two years of college the norm, the way high school is the norm right now. now, the average tuition right now for a full-time student at a public two-year college is an estimated $3800 a year. in our next hour of mornings on 2, though, we'll talk about what critics say we should be leery about the president's plan. >> all right. look forward to that. thank you, pam. 7:38. new this morning, the state supreme court in nebraska throws out a lawsuit over the keystone xl pipeline. the court says that three land owners who challenged the proposed route of the oil pipeline did not have legal standing to do so. the decision is likely to give congressional republicans a boost, as legislation to approve the keystone pipeline project goes to the house for a vote today. president obama has said he would veto the bill. senator barbara boxer's announcement that she will not run for re-election next year is shaking up california politics. >> i want to come home. i want to come home to the state that i love so much, california. >> dianne feinstein and barbara boxer! >> she was elected in 1992, the year of the woman. boxer served in the house for 10 years and senate for more than 20. >> she should be remembered as a reliably liberal progressive in the senate and a leading environmentalist, particularly around climate change issues. >> when senator boxer talks about wanting to come home, she means here, in the bay area. boxer has a home in oakland near jack london square. almost as soon as senator boxer announced her retirement yesterday, speculation began about who might replace her. among the names being tossed about, attorney general kamala harris, lieutenant governor gavin newsom, former los angeles mayorry goessa and several california members of congress. 7:39. the santa clara county da's office says a san jose police officer who sent controversial tweets last month will not be charged with a crime. here is an example of one of the tweets from officer philip white. quote, threaten me or my family and i will use my god-given and law-appointed right and duty to kill you. #copslivesmatter. prosecutors say those tweets were not professional and not appropriate, but they say they need a victim to call it a crime and they couldn't find a victim in this case. however, the leader of a south bay community group says officer white should be fired from the police force. right now, he is on paid administrative leave. several latino families in walnut creek say they are being forced out of their long-time homes to make way for an upscale housing development. the families rent houses near the walnut creek bart station and that is the future location of a development called the landing. the department of housing and urban development is investigating claims the families living there now are being discriminated against because information was not given to them in spanish. >> i want my kids to grow up in a safe environment. we want to stay here. we want them to help us be able to stay here. >> we have a long-standing history of building affordable housing. >> the city of walnut creek says it gave tenants four months notice they would have to move and the city always has a translator available if one is requested. the developer will pay families two months' rent before the end of this movement the tenants' say if they aren't happy with the results of the hud investigation, they plan to go to court. it is 7:41. remember that very public and very pricey some lighter than usual commutes. today is a little slow at the 880 interchange. 101 and 85 are not that bad. on this friday, we are getting a little bit of a friday light commute in some areas. let's go to the next element. that would be the bay bridge toll plaza. you can see for yourself, it's not quite what it is. if you're coming in on the 880 ramp, you're seeing no slow traffic for any of those drivers. that looks very good getting into san francisco. of course the golden gate will close tonight. it will be closed all weekend. it will reopen monday morning at 4:00 a.m. so it's going to be closed starting at about 9:30, making those closures. closed all day tomorrow. closed all day sunday. again, as i mentioned, opening on monday at 4:00 a.m. for the morning commute. i do want to mention that traffic on some of the other bridges might be a little bit busier. the san mateo bridge is moderate right now, heading over to the peninsula. today's weather and the weekend forecast, here's steve. >> hotwheels for me, sal. >> hotwheels. loved the hotwheels. >> loved the hotwheels. we do have cloudy skies, a little change here. these systems are too weak. so cold, so much snow and cold and it's just east of us, that's providing really kind of a boulder in the middle of the stream. until that breaks down, our pattern doesn't get much except these weak little systems. mostly cloudy, hazy skies. more clouds over the weekend, cooler. could be a few sprinkles, not a big deal. early next week looks breezy, possibility next week something might break through and give us rain. the forecast models have backed off on it. last rain was december 24th. we've gone a long time. i'm going on the 18th, if it does happen. usually these systems come in after a stretch of long weather, usually later than sooner, slowing down a bit. we'll see. we'll know at the end of next week. the breakdown, or the decrease in the projection amounts is not a positive sign. lot of cloud cover over us. 40s and 50s on the temps here. again, the lows, 20s and 30s for a while. they have come up due to cloud cover. low 50s lafayette. brentwood, 49. antioch, close. temperatures will be under the influence of this cloud cover. we're not expecting any precip, but there's a little lift provided by that mountain range called the sierra that might give a few isolated showers. looks like it stays south of tahoe and truckee. but it's close. might get an isolated shower. too warm for snow. 50s on the water temps, but the monterey bouie is 59. warm, warm. look at that spin in the atmosphere. that's why i like to show the water vapor. there it goes. if it came over us, we have a possibility of maybe a few more light showers. but as it heads down to southern california, it impacts them more than us. cold. it's a little better than yesterday, but still really cold for many, all the way down to the deep south. lake effect systems are starting to move, clipper systems, could be around 1 to 2 feet of snow over the next couple of days around the great lakes, especially around buffalo, areas like that. 40s for some, 50s for others. 42 up at blue canyon. cloudy, mostly cloudy today. system today, and another one on saturday coming together. look for a lot of cloud cover to move in. hazy skies, patchy fog, light shower or two, but i doubt it. hazy sprinkles in the offing, very light. 60s each day and these temps are coming down. upper 50s, mainly low 60s, especially heading into the weekend. there it is. then we'll have breezy, cooler conditions early next week. >> all right, steve. alternative treatments. >> i stand by her 100%. my daughter has made a decision that she does not want chemicals, poison, put into her body. >> does that mean that she wants to die? absolutely not. >> well, the supreme court ruled the girl is not mature enough to make that kind of decision. she will be allowed to make her own decision when she becomes 18, in september. by that time, her chemo gives me a ?ñ?ñ?good time to mention that yes, the golden gate bridge will be closed. they will start making the closures at about 9:00 tonight on the golden gate bridge. we have more on the closure. peacefully end two separate hostage stand-offs with suspected terrorists. now, first of all, n+ñ?ñ?we'll take you to live pictures from a scene in eastern paris, i÷ñ?ñ?ñwhere police have surrounded a 2ññ?ñ?kosher grocery store this morning and forgive me, actually i believe this is attack, are ddñ?ñ?holed up. the gunman inside the market is believed to be this man, the man ñ?ñ?in this mug shot put 8iñ?out by authorities. he and another woman are 0xñ?ñ? suspected of shooting and iñ?ñ?killing a paris police e?ñ?officer yesterday. authorities can definitively link that shooting to bnñ?ñ?the original shooting attack at the charlie /gñ?ñ?hebdo offices where 12 people were shot and killed on ñ?ñ?ñ? wednesday. in the past few minutes, we recorded gunfire coming from one opñ?ñ?of the stand-offs, the one ú"ñ?ñ?ñ playing out just outside of ?nñ?ñ? paris. those two suspected -- those two brothers, suspected terrorists, are believed to be inside. they are believed to have been holding a woman hostage. we pjñ?ñ?obviously don't know the situation with that hostage at this time, but police there are úfñ?ñ?
