developing at five -- the manhunt for an accused cop killer. right now, investigators say, a former los angeles police officer is on a revenge shooting spree. this is the man's picture -- christopher dorner is believed to be targetting his former co-workers and their families. new tonight -- an online manifesto has been uncovered. detailing the suspects plans. all, while the number of dead -- and innocent bystanders caught in the cross-fire mount. grant lodes is standing by with what we know right now. grant? and with the the the past and and with right now.swat team members are searching for the suspect in the san bernardino mountins near big bear ski resort.this is new video just into our newsroom. they're focusing their search in this area - about 100 miles east of los angeles, after finding the suspect's burning truck on athis is the latest twist to what's been a terrifying 16 california. 1:30 this morning.in the riverside county community of corona. christopher dorner allegedly gets into a shootout with two l-a-p-d officers who followed him after seeing his truck. one bullet grazes an officer in the head. and dorner takes off. a short time later, about 2- am today in riverside. two riverside officers are ambushed. police say dorner shot the officers while they waited at a stop light while on routine patrol. one officer dies, the other critically injured. now 8:30 this morning - near the big bear ski resort in the san bernardino mountians. dorner's burned pickup truck is found. there's no sign of the 33- year old suspect. schools in the area go on lock-down. big bear later shuts down for the day. then early this afternoon. swat team members in fatigues are lowerd in helicopters into the mountainous terrain of the big bear region. they continue the dangerous search for christopher dorner with rifles drawn. i'll be following developments in this man- hunt all night. we'll have the latest information, and live pictures as they're happening. the manhunt for christopher dorner has stretched across all of southern california. kron 4's charles clifford shows us where the former police officer has been spotted. >>reporter:the hunt for christopher dorner began last sunday, when two people were found murdered in a parking garage here in irvine california. it's then believed that dorner feld 90 miles south towards san diego. on tuesday evening, witnesses described a man matching his description attempting to steal a yacht from this marina. the attempt apparently failed when the boat malfunctioned. a few days later, items belonging to dorner, including his lapd badge, were found here near lindbergh field. then... two days later, 90 miles to the north in corona, two la pd officers were involved in a shoot out with dorner around 1:30 in the morning. one of the officer was injured and dorner escaped. a short time later, two riverside police officers were ambushed while waiting in their car at a stop light. one of the officers was killed and the other seriously injured. and finally, on thursday afternoon, a truck believed to belong dorner was found burning in the trees near big bear, a mountainous are about 100 miles east of los angeles. in the newsroom, charles clifford kron 4 news. >>pam: again, los angeles police killer to *very dangerous. we now know dorner served in the military -- he was a u- sthis is a picture of him in uniform -- pentagon records pistol. february first. >>pam: this is a man who has his former employers for a long time. the los angles police department back in 2008. christopher dorner recently of what he sees as the injustices he's suffered. (male announcer) live from the kron 4 news station, this is the kron 4 news. with a developing story. >> "christopher jordan dorner is described as an african american, approximately six-foot tall 270 pounds. is considered to be armed and extremely dangerous" right now-- a statewide manhunt tonight for *this man. christopher dorner. and ex-cop suspected of killing three people. including a police officer. police believe he's getting the los angles police department. by targeting former co-workers and their families. kron4's grant lodes joins us stands right now. new at six-- tonight we're hearing from chief william bratton. who fired dorner from the police bratton is also the new consultant. just moments ago he spoke to cnn's anderson cooper. as for why he did it. christopher dorner apparently considered himself a whistle-blower on wrongly fired. his job back in 2008 - after writing what he called his 'manifesto'. despite all the photoshe has apparently been a very angry man. february 4th around 9 in the his so-called manifesto on facebook. addressing it to "america". resort" his name'. dorner says in part that he was targeted by the los angeles police department because he reported a fellow officer for kicking a suspect and using excessive force. in another incident.he says he squeezed an officer's use offensive and racist terms. he says he now wishes he had simply shot the man. now, dorner writes "i will bring unconventional and asymmetrical warfare to those in l-ap-d uniform whether on or off duty." >> dorner is angry about the people behind his firing. and angry about fellow officers he accuses of things like beating up a money. and then lying about it. perhaps not expecting to come out of the drama alive. dorner wrote "unfortunately, i will not be alive to see my name cleared.a man is nothing without his name" dorner bragged that he was an expert in shooting.with the highest scores. -- saying "i never had the opportunity to have a family of my own, i'm terminating yours." and he named names. which is why officers quickly spread out to try to he'd wipe out. for the suspect's truck. >> pam: to women, that are harmed there were--two women that were in harm's way when their vehicle was mistaken for the suspects vehicles details on two separate cases of mistaken identity. stay with kron 4 as we stay on top of this developing story. and will bring you throughout this newscast. >> jacqueline: this will change overnight and let us take a look @ wizthe snowfall. with the pequots were of this system will see plenty of shower activity. with the- >> jacqueline: we will time it out on futurecast. >> pam: developing news at this hour regarding that 13 year old girl who's body was found last friday in a fairfield park. investigators are releasing new information about the death of genelle conway- allen. kron 4's dan kerman is here with details. >> reporter: pam investigators want people to know exactly where genelle was when she was last seen and how far she had to travel to get to the park where her body was found city surveillance camera caught her near east tabor avenue and grande circle last thursday afternoon. somehow by friday morning. her body was discovered 3 and half miles away at all witt. police are releasing this information so people can think about the distance and the location and see if they can remember seeing genelle during this time. in the meantime, almost a year ago on march 6. another 13 year old girl was found dead in a park. just 50 miles away from fairfield in the community of rosemont. the body of 13 year old jessica funk- haslam was also discovered in rosemont park. her body was located in the dugout of the park's baseball field. she died of trauma to the head, asphyxia and a stab wound. now this case is unsolved and detectives with the sacramento county sheriff's department have reached out to fairfield police asking if they want to share information. >> pam: are they sure these cases are connected?
