At this cvs dozens of people are pouring in to get the vac scene. Last i checked, there was quite a line. But this pharmacy does still have vaccines. Other pharmacies and clinics throughout the bay area are running out. More and more people in the bay area are rolling up their sleeves and getting a flu shot. They have plenty of motivation, at least 11 people have died from flu this season in the bay area, and hundreds are getting sick. Here at Regional Medical center, they set up a tent in the parking lot to handle the overflow of flu patients. Most have the h 1 n 1 strain, also known as swine flu. What we knee about the strain, as compared to other flu strains, it can cause severe illness and death in Young Healthy adults and thats what were seeing this year. Reporter dr. Sarah cody say twos people died from h 1 n 1 in Santa Clara County this season. There was one 41yearold and one 61yearold. One death was in late december, and then one death was earlier this week. Reporter this week, pharmacies across the bay area have seen a surge in people coming in for a flu shot, such a high demand, some Walgreens Stores temporary ran out of vaccin vaccines. Kizer is running low and said over the past few days, we experienced shot shortages of vaccines and are moving available supplies between facilities to meet the demand. The hospital ordered thousands of additional doses from suppliers, which are expected to arrive in the bay area monday. Now, many including Joseph Joshua are making getting a flu shot a priority. I happen to get the flu shot every year. I got it just to stop my flu because its a real bad season for flu and a lot of people are dying. Reporter doctors say its a smart move. This seasons vaccine does offer protection against h 1 n 1 and your best defense against a potentially deadly flu. Doctors also say if you havent gotten a flu shot yet, you need to do it as soon as possible because it still takes two weeks to get the anti bodies built up in your system and offer you full protection. Into the newsroom, the arrest of a redwood city man for felony animal cruelty and child endangerment. Redwood city police say they arrested this man yesterday along the 2200 block of middle field road. They were called to investigate reports of animal cruelty. Investigators say the suspect was abusing a four month old pub pea for a month and killed it tuesday. The 4yearold daughter of the suspects girlfriend witnessed some abuse. Firefighters on the scene of the massive warehouse fire in san jose. In fact, they could be there until tomorrow. This is what that fire looked like shortly after it broke out. Huge flames ripping through the warehouse that spanned an entire city block off 101. There were several explosions and thick smoke could be seen for miles. No word on the cause of the fire. That warehouse fire is not considered suspicious but firefighters are investigating a string of other fires that are suspicious including this one, ten fires in the past three days in the south bay, many of them clustered within a few blocks. Look at the man behind bars suspected of killing hernandez, Police Arrested the 36yearold of richmond yesterday three years to the day from the attack. The sfpd has not released what led to the break but police put out Surveillance Footage in 2011 from where the attack happened. The video showing him at the bar with friends. Investigators say he attacked hernandez. Hernandez suffered a traumatic brain injury and later died. He completed several rotations at the hospital training in the department of emergency medicine, described as going above and beyond as a student in taking care of patients. The problem for us, though, is the strongest part of the storm, the core area of low pressure will be heading up towards seattle. For us, well get this storm system to move in across the bay area. It will be the bottom edge. It will graze portions of the north bay down to the south bay for tomorrow. So yes, i do think well get showers, some of you will have a better chance than others. As you can see, tomorrow morning at 5 00 a. M. , spotty showers. The potential in the north bay. Late in the morning, the rain line pushes to the south. At 10 00 a. M. Santa rosa will have the best chance and as we advance through the afternoon, it will be about San Francisco and back in the east bay and also the south bay, but you can see that system moved to the south, it really begins to fall apart. So yes, i do think the north bay will have the highest chance here of getting some wet weather. And here you can see the totals, not very impressive. We are certainly grasping here. We look at the totals if youre visiting from anywhere else, trace amounts, the highest totals since december 7th across the bay area. Thats why its a big deal. Lets get you to the forecast for tomorrow on saturday, well see temperatures cooling off. Upper 50s to 60 and every single one of you will have that possibility of showers. San jose at 60 and also throughout San Francisco jacket weather staying in place and temperatures in the upper 50s. North bay, east bay and also for tri valley and 59 expected in napa and back here towards livermore expecting 62. So wet and cooler on saturday, then by sunday, we flip the switch to some drastically different weather, mostly sunny skies, a slight warmup in the forecast and if youre a San Francisco 49ers fan look at the forecast out here in carolinas.
