A boy police say was kidnapped by his own father is back with his mother after tebs moments today. Michael steele assaulted his wife and father and took his 5yearold son, triggering an amber alert. A few hours later, deputies in Sacramento County arrested steele. The boy was fine other than an injury to his hand. Steele is facing charges of attempted homicide, Domestic Violence and child abduction. California has been shut out yet again. We will not host any of next years president ial debates. The commission on president ial debates instead chose Wright State University in ohio, Washington University in st. Louis, and unlv in las vegas. This happened at the wall greens at 41st avenue here in san mateo at about 12 45 yesterday afternoon. Pharmacy technician very traumatized, not as work today, understandably so. The Surveillance Video shows a man who waited until just one Pharmacy Technician was up front. He then vaulted the counter, pulled out a large knife, and held it to the technicians neck, demanding a prescription pain killer. The pharmacist in back gave it to the suspect who then let go of the technician and walked calmly out of the drugstore. This definitely has a level of violence were not used to seeing. Were grateful no one was hurt, but again, as you see that violence, it reads the fact thats a desperate act. The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, about 56 with dark hair, an average build, and a reddish tattoo near his white eye, possibly in the shape of a triangle. He also has an untrimmed beard, and possibly has tattoos on the back of his hands. He was last seen wearing dark, possibly black pants and a dark hooded sweatshirt. Brent wood police have arrested three teenagers and two adults for a vicious home invasion. This is footage from the crime scene back in july. A brentwood couple was sleeping when three people broke into their home and assaulted them. The husband remains in the hospital. Investigators say attackers were two adult men and a 17yearold girl, all from pittsburgh. They were arrested on charges including home invasion, robbery, attempted murder, and assault with a deadly weapon. Two other teenagers were arrested on conspiracy charges. All five suspects will be tried as adults. The mayor calls it a game changer. Uber rolling into oakland in a big way. Theyre trance forling it into office space for up to 3,000 workers and will build a Retail Center on the first floor. She says oakland and uber are a perfect fit. In other news tonight, people who lost their homes in the valley and butte fires are warned that insurance scam artists are already targeting them. Hundreds of families will be rebuilding their homes, but the California Department of insurance says unlicensed contractors and scammers are already on the hunt. One of the biggest scams involves socalled public adjusters. They claim they can help people negotiate their claim with the insurance for a percentage of that claim. We find seldom that consumers are committing fraud. They drive up to the house, they confirm its burned down and give people money. Experts say the safest way to avoid scams is to work directly with your insurance company. Unfortunately, these things happen in disasters. Lets bring in jeff now. Good news. We think well have more of the high clouds for tomorrow. Once again, also hotter temperatures. Brilliant blue sky for the east bay. A chilly 66 in San Francisco, and currently checking in with 87 in the north bay. Tomorrow, with a lot less fog at the coastline and hotter temperatures on tap, we do think well start affwith a clear morning. That will give us a colder start. Well take a look and see the north bay dropping down to 53. 57 in the east bay. As we take a closer look at the forecast, the largest change as we head throughout thursday is this area of High Pressure building off to the south. Its not extremely strong, but its going to nudge up just enough from the south to help to heat our temperatures up. Across the board, it looks like from a 3 to 6 degree warmup from today. Well keep that hotter trend into fridays forecast. But then good news for a lot of you that want some cooler weather to at least stay for a few more days. We get that back as we head throughout this weekend. A cool front passing on by. Looks like rain chances will stay to the north, but well have more comfortable temperatures. The one thing well be watching is the air quality the next two days with the hotter temperatures on tap. Looks like the worst quality will be in the east bay and south bay. No spare the air day just yet. If you suffer from asthma or respiratory problems, contra costa, alameda, and santa clara counties may bring some of the largest impacts. As we look at the microclimate forecast for thursday, you can feel comfortable in san jose but hotter. 88 degrees and high clouds moving across. Looks like once we get away from the bay to morgan hill and gilroy, well pop up to 87. To the coastline, beach weather in pacifica, and San Francisco warming up to 75 in the financial district tomorrow and 77 in the mission. Lets get you to the north bay, east bay, and trivalley. The trivalley, while it will heat up, we should stay out of the 100s. But a decent warpp from today. 95 expected in danville. For the east bay, beautiful weather in oakland, 83 degrees and mostly sunny skies. Walnut creek, 84, and to the north bay, 88 in mill valley and 92 in napa. Trivalley, yes, it gets hot, but its a twoday event. Mid 90s on thursday, and also on friday. Then by saturday 90 degrees and down to 86 on sunday. And then you can see for the north bay, 93 on friday, then we go to 90 on saturday, and then temperatures will drop to 93 83, rather, on sundays forecast.
