blue and gold. one thing is sure, a home game on a weeknight is great for business. at luca's tap house, they were expecting the usual crowds for game night. there at the corner of grand and broad wade is usually a pretty busy spot if there's a big spot. the manager there tells me he is sure the city has made the necessary preparations for celebration. >> we are prepared for it. i think for the last game, they were prepared for if they did win or if they lost. what crowds would be like. just because bars are packed all over the area. >> reporter: game time is at 6:00. so he expects people who get out of work to head directly to their neighborhood bars. and here at alomar kitchen and bar, they're actually closed on monday nights. but they're going to be open tomorrow night and ready for they're ready to bring it and bring home a title in front of the home crowd. sports way area's mindi bach continues our coverage. >> reporter: if there's a small silver lining to the warriors game four loss in the finals in cleveland, it's that they have the opportunity to win an nba title on their home court. and that is a rarity in bay area professional sports. no bay area team has won a title in their home stadium or arena since oakland a's did it in 1974. stephen curry and company can end that drought monday. after practice today, curry was asked about the chance to win it all at home. >> haven't had that experience before. so it would be a great night to get it done, to take advantage of you know, the home crowd, the energy. you know, how poorly we played in game four to try to, you know, make the necessary adjustments energywise and focus weiss to get it done, and you know, we're in really good shape right now to have this opportunity tomorrow. i'm looking forward to it. click on the weather tab to get updates for where you live. and new tonight, an investigation into the discovery of a body in san jose's like almaden. it was found saturday morning. the lake is in south san jose near the almaden expressway. is the report came in initially as a medical call but aren't saying too much more about the person they found or or the cause of death. traffic tied up for hours tied up after a deadly crash. the driver of the convertible lost control on highway 21 west of napa. the car ended up rolling down a hill, killing the driver. investigators say they're not sure what led up to the crash. >> the driver in his 60s was traveling northbound on state route 121 and for an unknown reason he crossed into the outbound lanes of 121 off the shoulder into some trees and down an embankment. >> one car crashed, nobody else hurt. chp officers shut down several lanes of 121 to investigate causing a massive backup. traffic now back to normal. the congregation of an east bay church gathered to pray tod today after the church was a target of a hate crime. police say a man fired eight bullets into the statue outside catholic church in san leandro yesterday afternoon. police arrested the suspect shortly afterwards and say he had a gun in his waistband and struggled with officers. the act is being investigated as a hate crime. they say there is no evidence to suggest there are more threats to the church or its congregation. more than 672 hours after james comey's dramatic testimony on capitol hill, president trump is still talking about it. today, the president took another shot at the former fbi director on twitter. now, some republicans are urging the president to stop commenting on the issue. nbc bay area's marianne favro joins with us latest developments reporter. the focus may be on the president's comments made today, but this week, it's jeff comey's former boss, the attorney general who will be in the hot seat. though it's still unclear whether that hearing will be public. this is how president trump recently branded his former fbi director. >> he's a leaker. >> reporter: today from his new jersey home, the president fired at james comey again tweeting "i believe the james comey leaks will be far more prevalent than anyone thought possible. totally illegal, very cowardly." cowardly in quotes. an apparent personal shot at comey's own concession thursday. >> i was kind of a slightly cowardly way of trying to avoid telling him we're not going to do that. >> reporter: the president's commentary frustrating some republicans. >> you may be the first president in history to go down because you can't stop inappropriately talking about an investigation that if you just were quiet would clear you. >> reporter: frustration aimed in a different direction by the republican party chairwoman. >> i'm calling for an end to the investigations about the president trump's campaign colluding with the russians. there's been no evidence of it. i don't think that should continue. >> that's unlikely as the russia investigation puts attorney general jeff sessions back in the political hot seat. >> i did not have communications with the russians. >> reporter: in a surprise letter late saturday, the attorney general wrote is he pleased to accept the invitation of the senate intelligence committee to meet tuesday. but bay area senator dianne feinstein who has served on the judiciary committee 24 years says she feels the judiciary committee needs to be involved, too. >> it should be all hands on deck. and everybody should welcome a second committee getting involved, particularly on the technical legal aspects of obstruction of justice. >> reporter: feinstein said today the president projects unpredictability and every day is a new crisis. marianne favro, nbc bay areas news. melania trump and barron have officially moved into the white house. the two arrived in washington, d.c. tonight. they'll start living in the white house permanently. there you see them there, hopping off marine force one. the first lady tweeted out a picture of the view with a caption looking forward to the memories we will make in our new home. melania trump and the 11-year-old were living in new york city so he could finish out his school year. aides to the first lady said she plans to assume a more across the country fighting for lgbtq rights. >> the march comes one day before the one-year anniversary of the pulls nightclub massacre that happened in orlando that left 49 people dead. christie smith shows us the turnout today in san jose. >> reporter: at san jose city hall, people gathered, spoke up and prepared to march headed to a rally many said was critical in the current political climate. >> we are here to stand in solidarity against the bigotry and hatred that divides the nation especially as it relates to this community. >> in the crowd a number of politicians like zoe lofgren who says there has been success in recent times but also there's much at stake. >> there's still barriers across the country in a lot of states. people can be fired from their jobs because of their orientation. that's not right. so especially with trump in the white house, i think it's important for all of us to stand together for civil rights. >> reporter: hundreds of people joined the equality march for unity and pride san jose. a diversity group with a wide range of concerns, it was one of many marches. >> reporter: tom smith came with his husband bill to the plaza. >> i have been an activist in the '80s and seen this all happen before. it's time to come together in a very positive way. so i'm out here with everybody to rise up. >> we're not going to allow one election to reverse generations of progress. >> reporter: the focus was on solidarity and not turning back. >> we want to live in a place that values everyone. everyone has a contribution. >> reporter: christie smith, nbc bay area news. as we reported, people across the country were demonstrating today. the centerpiece of the equality march was in washington, d.c. thousands of demonstrators marching past the white house. in los angeles, tens of thousands of people turned out to march in hollywood. many carrying signs reading love trump's hate. l.a.'s annual pride parade was renamed the resist march. >> while many marched today, some paid tribute to the 49 victims of the deadly shooting of the nightclub in orlando. this is the video of the memorial earlier outside of the pulls club. tomorrow will mark one year since omar mateen opened fire. he was killed during the standoff with police. many community members stood silently from front of the memorial today while others brought flowers. >> the whole community came together afterward and we all worked and raised money and tried to help as much as we could for the families. and it means a lot to be here. >> there is an effort that is under way to turn that nightclub into a permanent memorial for the victims. well, as uber struggles to recover from a string of controversies, the company's board is now meeting behind closed doors to review the results of an investigation into uber's workplace culture. tonight the fallout could reach the very top of the company. nbc's joe ling reports. >> reporter: uber, the $70 billion rising star of silicon valley falling today. the company's board meeting to consider the results of an internal investigation by former attorney general eric holder into widespread sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior inside the company. the board discussing the fate of top executives including ceo travis kalanick and voting on the future of chief business officer emil michael. so the question is how did we get to today. how did uber get to the point where a bunch of people in a boardroom in l.a. are trying to figure out its future. it was spark inside february by engineer susan fowler who blogged about repeated unwanted sexual advances by her bass. she said hr swept the incident under the rug. >> because he was a high performer. eo travis kalanick who was blamed launch add investigation into the allegation saying anyone who behaves this way or thinks this is okay will be fired. last week, at least 20 employees were fired for harassment. bullying and inappropriate that way through the rest of tonight. 62 in oakland. san jose peninsula hilltops south bay hills toward santa cruz might see an isolated shower into tomorrow morning. we'll keep the winds going as you can see along the coast. san francisco at times 20 to 30-mile-per-hour winds. that will also likely keep tomorrow's highs running a bit below average. radar has dried out for now. most of the action moved off toward the sierra where snow levels close to 5500 feet. winter weather advisory for snow continues till about 5:00 p.m. tomorrow. this is the culprit, a winter-like area of low pressure. this drop into northern california with the heating of the day and cool air aloft, a perfect recipe for convective showers and thunderstorms now that the sun has set, we've lost a lot of that energy. so maybe an isolated shower as the moisturizes over the hilltops around the peninsula and east of san jose. by around lunchtime tomorrow, skies begin to clear. northwest winds keep our temperatures down for now. big changes in the second half of the week. 40s and 50s tomorrow morning. jacket weather, at least to start the week for the morning. highs tomorrow running fairly cool. upper 60s, low 70s. may feel cooler with the winds picking up out of the northwest from 15 to 30 miles per hour. tri-valley, temperatures from mid 60s in oakland, 70 in livermore. peninsula temperatures mostly in the mid 60s. low 60s into san francisco. you got the west winds up to 20 miles per hour. around the north bay, highs in the low to mid-70s as the north winds pick up late in the day around santa rosa. the reason why the seven-day forecast just takes off for the end of the week, instead of a cold low pressure system, we've got high pressure building in. both across the desert southwest and off to the west of california. and underneath this ridge of high pressure, temperatures set to climb hundreds likely around sacramento and stockton. for the tri-valley and concord, by the end of next weekend, we could really see those temperatures climbing up. san francisco, that will be one of the spots suc escape the heat. mid-70s likely towards the end of the week. breezy at times for tomorrow. then an isolated shower chance still possible in the valleys. cool start to the week. notice friday and saturday, 90s. we'll show you seven day locations around the area. palo alto could be close to 90 as you start next weekend. one of the hotter spots, livermore you were in the mid 60s this weekend. could see upper 90s for next weekend. so this heat spell that's coming starting friday long-range models could keep 90s in the forecast for five to seven days. as nice as all the snow is and the hale today, a real taste of smert second half of the week. >> all the kids getting out of school. will san francisco bay. >> which ones are tagged? >> reporter: these researchers have become the delta's eyes and ears, monitoring this last stop before the fish head to the san francisco bay and out to the ocean. >> we'll do water quality. we'll collect temperature. >> temperature 16.5. >> we do a lot of trawling like today which is dragging a net through the water and seeing what pops up. >> reporter: today we're seeing a lot of. >> salman, both hatchery and potentially wild run. >> 92 stage five. >> spring run. >> 86 stage five. >> fall run. >> reporter: through the last few years of the state's gripping drought, these nets have returned with fewer chinook salman, minnows and delta smelt. >> we saw them continue to decline quite a bit during the drought itself. we're now starting to see indications some of them are picking up a little bit. >> that's all those guys. >> reporter: the daley sampling helps water managers decide when and how much water to release. it's the kind of controversial decision that often pits farmers against fishermen. >> provides numerous functions that are vital to our economy and our livelihood for the fish, for the people. >> reporter: but here on towards the east bay, big thunderstorms, hale, lightning. downpours. everything has cleared out. 57 degrees san francisco there. still breezy around san francisco. pretty view over oakland at 60. winds out of the west up to 25 miles per hour. san jose 5 degrees. might see an isolated shower or two around some of the foothills south of san jose. squaw valley snow flying right now. winter weather advisory. if you have travel plans in the sierra, continues through 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. everything wraps up up here. we could see a half foot of snow above 7,000 feet, perhaps setting daley records given how late in the year. here is the cold weather system. you had winter-like cool air aloft. strong daytime heating. june type daytime heating a good recipe for convective showers. thunderstorms. look at the time frame from 2:00 to 5:00 through napa, vaccaville. a quarter inch of rain. as the line moved south, weakening as we approached sunset, that was the other half of the fuel to power up the storms. now that the sun has set, you can see a lot of showers have moved off toward the sierra where the snow will continue to fly. most of the shower activity tomorrow will be around the sierra. a slight chance of a stray shower around the peninsula hilltops for the morning. we'll start off with mostly cloudy skies around the south bay. gradual clearing in the afternoon. tomorrow the coolest day of the week ahead. upper 60s to low 70s around the santa clara valley. 70s towards the tri-valley. mainly low 70s to upper 60s. peninsula temperatures in the mid 60s. san francisco still cool. winds 20 to 30 miles per hour. north bay, highs in the mid-70s. as this system continues to move on out, drier air continues to slowly clear our skies out. once we pass 10:00 a.m., you can see mostly clear conditions setting the stage for high pressure to build in, especially wednesday and thursday. also a high expanding outwards over the desert southwest means a recipe for 90s across the valleys. on the coast, some relief 3760s and 70s there. inland big-time warmup in the forecast. san francisco comfortable. some nice days ahead with the numbers in the mid-70s. inland, this is where temperatures take off. many spots will be in the 60s tomorrow and then mid-90s inland. including san jose. we'll give you a spot forecast here taking you through next week. daley's mom saw him hoist the stanley cup last year. he was handed it first by sidney crosby. she is not with us now. but it was a special moment for her and for her son. phil kessel gets it this time. the former predator. a guy playing banged up all playoff long. finds a way to be the man. that man, right there it, mike sullivan, pushed a lot of the right buttons, doc. a tremendous feeling of moving up and down the lineup. and mike sullivan seemed to have the touch of recognizing and putting guys together, whether they were the so-called fourth liners or the highly skilled guys. last year, who get out of work to head directly to their neighborhood bars. and here at alomar kitchen and bar, they're actually closed on monday nights. but they're going to be open tomorrow night and ready for four loss in the finals in cleveland, it's that they have the opportunity to win an nba title on their home court. and that is a rarity in bay area professional sports. no bay area team has won a title in their home stadium or arena since oakland a's did it in 1974. stephen curry and company can end that drought monday. after practice today, curry was asked about the chance to win it all at home. >> haven't had that experience before. so it would be a great night to get it done, to take advantage of you know, the home crowd, the energy. you know, how poorly we played in game four to try click on the weather tab to get updates for where you live. and new tonight, an investigation into the discovery of a body in san jose's like almaden. it was found saturday morning. the lake is in south san jose near the almaden expressway. is the report came in initially as a medical call but aren't saying too much more about the person they found or or the cause of death. traffic tied up for hours tied up after a deadly crash. the driver of the convertible lost control on highway 21 west of napa. the car ended up rolling down a hill, killing the driver. investigators say they're not sure what led up to the crash. >> the driver in his 60s was traveling northbound on state route 121 and for an unknown reason he crossed into the outbound lanes of 121 off the shoulder into some trees and down an embankment. >> one car crashed, nobody else hurt. chp officers shut down several lanes of 121 to investigate causing a massive backup. traffic now back to normal. the congregation of an east bay church gathered to pray tod today after the church was a target of a hate crime. police say a man fired eight bullets into the statue outside catholic church in san leandro yesterday afternoon. police arrested the suspect shortly afterwards and say he had a gun in his waistband and struggled with officers. the act is being investigated as a hate crime. they say there is no evidence to suggest there are more threats to the church or its congregation. more than 672 hours after james comey's dramatic testimony on capitol hill, president trump is still talking about it. today, the president took another shot at the former fbi director on twitter. now, some republicans are urging the president to stop commenting on the issue. nbc bay area's marianne favro joins with us latest developments reporter. the focus may be on the president's comments made today, but this week, it's jeff comey's former boss, the attorney general who will be in the hot seat. though it's still unclear whether that hearing will be public. this is how president trump recently branded his former fbi director. >> he's a leaker. >> reporter: today from his new jersey home, the president fired at james comey again tweeting "i believe the james comey leaks will be far more prevalent than anyone thought possible. totally illegal, very cowardly." cowardly in quotes. an apparent personal shot at comey's own concession thursday. >> i was kind of a slightly cowardly way of trying to avoid telling him we're not going to do that. >> reporter: the president's commentary frustrating some republicans. >> you may be the first president in history to go down because you can't stop inappropriately talking about an investigation that if you just were quiet would clear you. >> reporter: frustration aimed in a different direction by the republican party chairwoman. >> i'm calling for an end to the investigations about the president trump's campaign colluding with the russians. there's been no evidence of it. i don't think that should continue. >> that's unlikely as the russia investigation puts attorney general jeff sessions back in the political hot seat. >> i did not have communications with the russians. >> reporter: in a surprise letter late saturday, the attorney general wrote is he pleased to accept the invitation of the senate intelligence committee to meet tuesday. but bay area senator dianne feinstein who has served on the judiciary committee 24 years says she feels the judiciary committee needs to be involved, too. >> it should be all hands on deck. and everybody should welcome a second committee getting involved, particularly on the technical legal aspects of obstruction of justice. >> reporter: feinstein said today the president projects unpredictability and every day is a new crisis. marianne favro, nbc bay areas news. melania trump and barron have officially moved into the white house. the two arrived in washington, d.c. tonight. they'll start living in the white house permanently. there you see them there, hopping off marine force one. the first lady tweeted out a picture of the view with a caption looking forward to the memories we will make in our new home. melania trump and the 11-year-old were living in new york city so he could finish out his school year. aides to the first lady said she plans to assume a more public schedule once the move is complete. more controversy for uber. reports of a potential shake-up involving top executives. plus, a bike ride with a learning lesson to boot. why dozens of people were hopping on their bicycles today looking to get a special view at the alameda waterfront. and cool and breezy for now around san jose, 59 degrees. highs tomorrow reaching the upper 60s, but later across the country fighting for lgbtq rights. >> the march comes one day before the one-year anniversary of the pulls nightclub massacre that happened in orlando that left 49 people dead. christie smith shows us the turnout today in san jose. >> reporter: at san jose city hall, people gathered, spoke up and prepared to march headed to a rally many said was critical in the current political climate. >> we are here to stand in solidarity against the bigotry and hatred that divides the nation especially as it relates to this community. >> in the crowd a number of politicians like zoe lofgren who says there has been success in recent times but also there's much at stake. >> there's still barriers across the country in a lot of states. people can be fired from their jobs because of their orientation. that's not right. so especially with trump in the white house, i think it's important for all of us to stand together for civil rights. >> reporter: hundreds of people joined the equality march for unity and pride san jose. a diversity group with a wide range of concerns, it was one of many marches. >> reporter: tom smith came with his husband bill to the plaza. >> i have been an activist in the '80s and seen this all happen before. it's time to come together in a very positive way. so i'm out here with everybody to rise up. >> we're not going to allow one election to reverse generations of progress. >> reporter: the focus was on solidarity and not turning back. >> we want to live in a place that values everyone. everyone has a contribution. >> reporter: christie smith, nbc bay area news. as we reported, people across the country were demonstrating today. the centerpiece of the equality march was in washington, d.c. thousands of demonstrators marching past the white house. in los angeles, tens of thousands of people turned out to march in hollywood. many carrying signs reading love trump's hate. l.a.'s annual pride parade was renamed the resist march. >> while many marched today, some paid tribute to the 49 victims of the deadly shooting of the nightclub in orlando. this is the video of the memorial earlier outside of the pulls club. tomorrow will mark one year since omar mateen opened fire. he was killed during the standoff with police. many community members stood silently from front of the memorial today while others brought flowers. >> the whole community came together afterward and we all worked and raised money and tried to help as much as we could for the families. and it means a lot to be here. >> there is an effort that is under way to turn that nightclub into a permanent memorial for the victims. well, as uber struggles to recover from a string of controversies, the company's board is now meeting behind closed doors to review the results of an investigation into uber's workplace culture. tonight the fallout could reach the very top of the company. nbc's joe ling reports. >> reporter: uber, the $70 billion rising star of silicon valley falling today. the company's board meeting to consider the results of an internal investigation by former attorney general eric holder into widespread sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior inside the company. the board discussing the fate of top executives including ceo travis kalanick and voting on the future of chief business officer emil michael. so the question is how did we get to today. how did uber get to the point where a bunch of people in a boardroom in l.a. are trying to figure out its future. it was spark inside february by engineer susan fowler who blogged about repeated unwanted sexual advances by her bass. she said hr swept the incident under the rug. >> because he was a high performer. eo travis kalanick who was blamed launch add investigation into the allegation saying anyone who behaves this way or thinks this is okay will be fired. last week, at least 20 employees were fired for harassment. bullying and inappropriate behavior as a result of a second investigation. uber did not comment today and holder will present his findings to all employees on tuesday. more speed butchs on the horizon for the raid haling giant. that way through the rest of tonight. 62 in oakland. san jose peninsula hilltops south bay hills toward santa cruz might see an isolated shower into tomorrow morning. we'll keep the winds going as you can see along the coast. san francisco at times 20 to 30-mile-per-hour winds. that will also likely keep tomorrow's highs running a bit below average. radar has dried out for now. most of the action moved off toward the sierra where snow levels close to 5500 feet. winter weather advisory for snow continues till about 5:00 p.m. tomorrow. this is the culprit, a winter-like area of low pressure. this drop into northern california with the heating of the day and cool air aloft, a perfect recipe for convective showers and thunderstorms now that the sun has set, we've lost a lot of that energy. so maybe an isolated shower as the moisturizes over the hilltops around the peninsula and east of san jose. by around lunchtime tomorrow, skies begin to clear. northwest winds keep our temperatures down for now. big changes in the second half of the week. 40s and 50s tomorrow morning. jacket weather, at least to start the week for the morning. highs tomorrow running fairly cool. upper 60s, low 70s. may feel cooler with the winds picking up out of the northwest from 15 to 30 miles per hour. tri-valley, temperatures from mid 60s in oakland, 70 in livermore. peninsula temperatures mostly in the mid 60s. low 60s into san francisco. you got the west winds up to 20 miles per hour. around the north bay, highs in the low to mid-70s as the north winds pick up late in the day around santa rosa. the reason why the seven-day forecast just takes off for the end of the week, instead of a cold low pressure system, we've got high pressure building in. both across the desert southwest and off to the west of california. and underneath this ridge of high pressure, temperatures set to climb hundreds likely around sacramento and stockton. for the tri-valley and concord, by the end of next weekend, we could really see those temperatures climbing up. san francisco, that will be one of the spots suc escape the heat. mid-70s likely towards the end of the week. breezy at times for tomorrow. speeding up approval for generic drugs requiring drug companies to justify price increases and approve imported drugs from outside the u.s. but the pharmaceutical industry is waging a massive campaign to fight everts that would force them to cut prices. the pharmaceutical industry tells nbc news the pace of price increases has slowed and we support enhancing the competitive market and fostering the daley records given how late in the year. here is the cold weather system. you had winter-like cool air aloft. strong daytime heating. june type daytime heating a good recipe for convective showers. thunderstorms. look at the time frame from 2:00 to 5:00 through napa, vaccaville. a quarter inch of rain. as the line moved south, weakening as we approached sunset, that was the other half of the fuel to power up the storms. now that the sun has set, you can see a lot of showers have moved off toward the sierra where the snow will continue to fly. most of the shower activity tomorrow will be around the sierra. a slight chance of a stray shower around the peninsula hilltops for the morning. we'll start off with mostly cloudy skies around the south bay. gradual clearing in the afternoon. tomorrow the coolest day of the week ahead. upper 60s to low 70s around the santa clara valley. 70s towards the tri-valley. mainly low 70s to upper 60s. peninsula temperatures in the mid 60s. san francisco still cool. winds 20 to 30 miles per hour. north bay, highs in the mid-70s. as this system continues to move on out, drier air continues to slowly clear our skies out. once we pass 10:00 a.m., you can see mostly clear conditions setting the stage for high pressure to build in, especially wednesday and thursday. also a high expanding outwards over the desert southwest means a recipe for 90s across the valleys. on the coast, some relief 3760s and 70s there. inland big-time warmup in the forecast. san francisco comfortable. some nice days ahead with the numbers in the mid-70s. inland, this is where temperatures take off. many spots will be in the 60s tomorrow and then mid-90s inland. including san jose. we'll give you a spot forecast here taking you through next week.
