mark: prosecutors don't know why yahia picked mcneeley's home. they can't find any evidence they knew each other and likely now will likely never know. stacey: urbandale police say a material witness in that officer-involved shooting has turned herself in to authorities. officers issued a warrant for 17-year-old kiara olson last week. they believe she can provide information about the case. steve: the des moines police department is on a mission to outfit all uniformed officers with body cameras. kcci's marcus mcintosh is in studio. marcus, what's the timeline here? marcus: steve, the chief wants this to happen by june. that means the department will have to purchase some 270 body cameras. cameras that will record the interaction between police and the public. the department's school resource officers have been equipped with body cameras for more than five years. the department tells kcci it is well on it way to the more than all uniformed officers. it is a combination of private donations and budgeted funds that will get the body cameras purchased and give officers on the street accountability. >> there has always been a lot of talk about transparency with law enforcement so this is going , to fill both of those requests. they want to know what we are doing, they want to know why we are doing it, and they want to know how we're doing it. this will help there. marcus: tonight at 6:00 we hear , from the public and whether or not they think body cameras on police should have the green light. steve: at the statehouse measures to address the growing , use of police body cameras are not expected to impact iowa law enforcement this year. several lawmakers want legislative action as more agencies are using body cameras to counter accusations of excessive force. legislators are using task forces to figure out storage, public inspection, and confidentiality of body camera video. stacey: breaking at 5:00 authorities on scene at a , narcotics raid right now. officers found cyanide and guns. authorities found a suspicious powder. it turned out to be potassium cyanide. one of the weapons is possibly a fully automatic. 43-year-old melissa renee zanders of centerville and 38-year-old raymond lee rhodeman of des moines are charged with drug and firearms violations. that case is still under investigation. the trial of a former boone man accused of killing his wife began today in winneshiek county. 41-year-old alexander fazzino is charged with first degree murder is in the death of emily fazzino. she was found dead on a bathroom floor at the couple's home 4 years ago. fazzino's trial was delayed several times and a judge granted that change of venue. we're getting some new information about an overnight stabbing on des moines' southeast side. police say the victim called them from the quik trip on southeast 14th street. the man told officers he'd been in a fight at a nearby party. police say the man's injury is minor. officers arrested daniel cruz . he's charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. cruz was also wanted on a previous warrant. steve: ice jams are causing flooding concerns here in there is a flood warning in boone county. kcci's vanessa peng reports. we'll, crews are putting up a fence to keep people away. this, after an ice jam upstream of the des moines river in fraser rammed a kink into the bridge. >> at that ice flow came down and hit the bridge it actually , tilted a couple of pilons. vanessa: ice jams form in bends and shallow areas of rivers. large pieces of ice stick together on the river, creating a dam of ice. and like dams, ice jams keep water back. >> ice jams are hard to predict . where they're going to be and if they are going to happen. vanessa: and once they break free, like this weekend in central iowa with warmer temps, they come crashing downstream with lots of water and ice. >> you could have several miles of ice backed up that causes a lot of flooding. vanessa: further downstream, at ledges state park, look how much ice has accumulated on the river. >> due to all the warm weather and the ice and snow melting it's all funneling down the des , moines river, causing the flood at lower ledges. vanessa: forcing park rangers to close canyon drive and the lower half of the park. >> don't go across the barricades. made sure you stay on the side that is not flooded. we don't want people to get trapped down there. steve: there have been reports of ice jams on the des moines river from fort dodge to boone. let's go over to stacy. stacey: in the metro, george flagg parkway remains closed. the city of des moines closed part of the road saturday. kcci's emmy victor is just back from the area. emmy, the city is anticipating more flooding, right? emmy: stacey, warm temperatures over the weekend caused the twelve inches of snow the metro has received this month to melt. that water poured right into the raccoon river and the des moines river. both are expected to crest above this evening. parts of george flagg parkway already has water over the grass and on the pavement. the road closed 48 hours in advance, which the city of des moines says is normal procedure. >> we close george flagg as a precaution anytime the water is approaching the edge of the roadway and predictions call for it to be on top of the roadway. emmy: public works does not expect the road to open again until thursday evening or friday morning. back to you. steve: kurtis, warm weather brings flooding. kurtis: we have so much moisture in the ground to begin with, so a lot of that ran on off. we have worked over much of the snow, although there is some snow in the northwestern third of the state. 42 currently in the metro, so well above freezing. a bit cooler to the north. just about everybody wrapped in i think it will fill in with some falling in northern iowa. we will give down to around freezing, stay mostly cloudy tomorrow. temperatures once again in the mid 40's. we cruised down into the upper 30's on thursday. by saturday, back up into the 50's. back down into the 30's as we head to next week. steve: still do, on the news at 5:00 get down. , don't think a 106-year-old can boogie? sally: for a wild now marco , rubio has been accusing ted now cruz is holding someone accountable for what he calls a grave error in judgement. a cruz campaign shakeup. sen. cruz: i asked for rick tyler's resignation. sally: ted cruz says his national spokesman tweeted out a misleading video about rival marco rubio sunday, falsely accusing rubio of making a negative comment about the bible. sen. cruz: it turned out the news story he sent around was false, but i tell you even if it , was true, we are not a campaign that is going to question the faith of another candidate. sally: earlier, rubio blasted cruz for campaign dirty tricks. sen. rubio: it's incredibly disturbing. i mean, you guys have to be seeing this. it's every single day that something comes out of the cruz campaign that's deceptive and untrue. sally: after his decisive win in south carolina polls show donald , trump is favored to win nevada, where republicans caucus tuesday. ohio governor john kasich has won the endorsement of former homeland security director tom ridge. establishment lane and anti -establishment lane. i'm in the john kasich lane. figure it out. sally: next up for the democrats the south carolina primary. , hillary clinton, fresh off a win in nevada, has a strong lead in palmetto state polls. meantime, bernie sanders campaigned in sumter, south carolina. before heading to massachusetts, where a new emerson poll shows a dead heat between sanders and clinton ahead of the state's super tuesday primary. on thursday, republicans will hold their final debate before super tuesday and questions , about this latest flap between cruz and rubio are likely to be one of the hot topics. stacey: sally, with clinton favored to win south carolina, what does the road ahead look like for bernie sanders? sally: sanders is saying he's going to stay and regardless of what happens in south carolina . he says this fight with hillary clinton will be a long state by he's looking ahead to the super tuesday contests and hoping to pick up a nice chunk of delegates. stacey: new at 5:00 the supreme , court is back at work today in the wake of justice antonin scalia's death. chief justice john roberts started the day with a tribute calling scalia a man with an , irrepressible spirit. scalia's funeral took place saturday. steve: making news right now the , michigan uber driver, accused in saturday's random shooting rampage, has been denied bail. 45-year-old jason dalton is now charged with six counts of murder and 2 counts of attempted murder. he made his first appearance in court today, after being arrested yesterday in kalamazoo. >> you understand the charges being made against you. and the maximum sentence i just stated?
