We have eaten some of the best food in a warm environment catered by people who care about other people, said dulfek rebos opened their doors yesterday for thanksgiving and served a multitude of people in the siouxland area, many of which have witnessed hard times. Volunteers waited and served the large number of people to make them feel welcomed and at home. Donations from weeks prior not only went to food, but to provide attendees with hats, gloves, and toiletry bags. There was lots of conversation and laughter. Countless number of people expressed their attitude for graditude. It is a breath of fresh air, you know. That we can sit with multiple races and have a meal with no one actually being mean to one another. I think that its a blessing all together, said i absolutely love this and i actually dont want to leave right now cause i can stay here and get another plate of food right now, which ive already done and ive just been having way too much fun, said dulfek. The thank yous came left and right to the volunteers and owner heather rees, she says the outpouring appreciation moved her and the total outcome was exactly what she anticipated. After battling an addiction to drugs and alcohol, he joined the program at Hope Ministries, designed to help people get their lives back on track. Now, six years after first volunteering to work here, hes got a full time job. And when he sees more than 200 other people giving their time on this thanksgiving day, he knows firsthand how it can make a big difference.
