pretty sure soon will be. rescue efforts under way at this hour to rescue a 5-year-old boy who's been stuck underground in a well in morocco for three days. here's a report on what's happening. >> a camera is lower it down this well and shows 5-year-old alive but unable to move. he has been trapped since tuesday. rescue teams are giving him food and water through pipes. the accident happened in the northern moroccan village. rescue teams say they can't abide in the well to reach him as it's too dangerous. so they are using diggers to strip away the earth to the side of it. it is an agonizing wait for his family. rescue teams say that they are close to rescuing him. a police helicopter is on standby to take up to the hospital. >> tucker: marc siegel is our doctor, fox news medical contributor who has been watching this closely. doctor, thank you for joining us tonight. those pictures are very distressing. >> very stirring story. our prayers are out to morocco tonight, to the 5-year-old with a lot of courage down at the bottom of the 100-foot well where he has been in less than . he has been there for three days now. and he has a distraught look on his face, of course. and he looks like he is alive and he is awake and he is responding. they've been lowering water down to him and lowering oxygen because of course he's going to use up the oxygen at the bottom of the well. the good news is if he had any major problems with any bleeding, he wouldn't be here. and if there's fractures, they're going to be able to repair them. they built a parallel bulldozer -- they dug parallel to this. the area has a combination of hard rock and dirt. so if you aren't careful, you can collapse the well. they dug sideways all the way down. they reached 100 feet down and now they've built a tunnel over to where he is. miraculously they are just a few feet away. you've been showing that all night. any minute now, any minute now they're going to be able to reach him. they will helicopter him out to a hospital that will work on rehydrating him. they will be somewhat malnourished. they will be able to come i believe, bring him back to health. it was baby jessica by the way in 1987 here in midland, texas. she was only 18 months old and they rescued her after almost a three day ordeal. she was in the hospital for a month. she went on to win a normal life. we are hoping the same for baby ray in. here is what really sets them apart. we could all learn from this. his courage. this little boy's courage. his resilience. the hope. that is what we have to feel right now and come together like they are doing in morocco and pray and hope for this courageous young boy, tucker. >> tucker: so scary. how long was baby jessica down not well?
