Painting murals gives parents, teachers, youth an empowering role for promoting peace

MARAWI CITY, May 19 (PIA) -- For youth volunteers, teachers, and parents of learners of Guimba Lilod Elementary School, painting murals has been empowering for them to join the community in promoting peace. 
Asniah Mauna-Macauyag, a mother of a kinder and grade 1 pupil, said that her desire to be a role model to her children motivated her to participate in the peace mural painting activity. She shared that parents should show their children how to unite with other people in doing activities. 
“Kahit papano makita ng anak mo na parang sinasabayan ang activity sa school para malaman niya gaano kahalaga ang pagsali sa activity. Mas maganda na ipakita sa anak mo  ang dapat gawin,” she said.
