[ crying ] she did not deserve that. none of the kids deserve it. >> the school has been closed since the shooting but may open to staff and teachers later this week. there hoping teachers and students will have time to come together and help each other cope. the school is offering counseling to the entire community. people in the parkland community have launched a petition for a special honor for one of the victims. peter wang was a junior rotc cadet. he helped them escape the shooting and died in his rotc uniform he wanted to go to west point. the government should give him full military honors at his funeral even though rotc is not considered in the military. the petition at whitehouse.gov says he died performing her rowing days heroic and selfless service. it has 20,000 signatures but needs 100,000 signatures before the government will respond. his funeral is tomorrow afternoon. you can go to ktvu.com and click on the link. the sacramento county main jail has a are 15 guns that are nearly untraceable. one day after the florida school shooting this man made and sold eight assault rifles and sold these ghost guns to an undercover agent. this was a homeland security investigation which used many ways to figure it out. they are legal to make but it illegal to sell. attendees saw the sum of the raffle prizes -- that some of the raffle prizes were guns. some walked out in anger when they saw one of the guns was an ar 15 being ruffled which is the same type of rifle used in the mass shooting. organizer should be concerned about putting one of those weapons out in the community. it is 6:10 am. two early-morning earthquakes woke people up. a magnitude 2.9 quake at 12:49 am was centered in danville this morning. this was under monta vista high school. there was a 2.5 quake around 2:30 am in the same area. we have not heard about any damage or injuries but plenty of people are saying they felt it. a private pilot made an amazing emergency landing on a freeway after an engine failure. it was on 101 in santa clara county. he wanted to make it to the airport but realized he was not going to make it that far. he searched for a place to welcome back to mornings on 2. a dream vacation on a cruise ship turned into a night mare. fights broke out on a daily basis. a disgruntled family traveling with more than 20 guests started trouble last week on a 10 day carnival cruise in the south pacific. it reportedly started when someone stepped on one of the family members flip-flops. that led to what passengers called chaos and on -- anarchy on the ship. many people were scared to leave their cabins. the family in question were taken off by police in australia. carnival has offered a discount for future cruises and reviewing procedures for those on board. tesla is looking to make its model three safer after a crash. model three crash dummy was in an accident where he crashed into a car 60 miles an hour. it was totaled and public transit anywhere, bart is on its sunday schedule and also has free parking in the lots. new this morning there was a second fire just before 1:30 am at a condo complex that actually caught fire over the weekend. >> fire officials across the county say that it reignited from sunday mornings fire. look at this helmet cam video. they had it under control by 1:50 am. nobody was hurt but more than one dozen people already had to flee after the original fire. that started after a pot was left unattended on the kitchen stove. >> potential for disaster is huge. do not ever leave something cooking on the stove unattended. turn it off if you have to walk away. don't keep anything combustible like boxes or towels or plastic containers anywhere near the stove top. >> good advice. the 19-year-old who let the pot -- left the pot on the stove went door-to-door waking neighbors to help. everybody got out safely. one fire fire hurt his knee but is expected to be okay. fire crews in san leandro were set days checking for flareups after a fire yesterday morning in several commercial buildings. several businesses were damaged but nobody was hurt. two teenagers were arrested and booked into juvenile hall for attacking a man in the parking lot of the ashby station in berkeley. we are at the station this morning and this is the latest in a series of crimes. we are at the lafayette station not the ashley station. the victims told police that it was a group of four teenagers who attacked them. he could only identify two of them. the police are still looking for two more suspects. the victim is an adult man who suffered minor injuries and taken to the hospital after he was struck in the back of the head by 14s around 10:40 pm in the ashby parking lot. they arrested two juveniles. a similar attack happened friday night at 11 pm at the same station. for teenagers punched a man and stole his phone. they found the phone near the station but the suspects ran away. 30 minutes later another man said his laptop was stolen at the train station. as you may remember last spring in march and april huge mobs of teenagers attacked and robbed passengers on bart station trains. these were in oakland. the suspects were never caught. this is something that a lot of bart passengers are concerned about.  bart seems to be very safe but she travels during commute hours and knows some of the other writers -- writers jik -- riders. a gunmen took 17 lives at a high school in florida. many students want to take their messages to state capitals in washington dc. we report from washington. truck we typically see these intense calls for gun control gain momentum and run out of steam in washington. proponents of new laws say this time it will be different. a somber day in [ crying ] she did not deserve that. none of the kids deserve it. >> the school has been closed since the shooting but may open to staff and teachers later this week. there hoping teachers and students will have time to come together and help each other cope. the school is offering counseling to the entire community. people in the parkland community have launched a petition for a special honor for one of the victims. peter wang was a junior rotc cadet. he helped them escape the shooting and died in his rotc uniform he wanted to go to west point. the government should give him full military honors at his funeral even though rotc is not considered in the military. the petition at whitehouse.gov says he died performing her rowing days heroic and selfless service. it has 20,000 signatures but needs 100,000 signatures before the government will respond. his funeral is tomorrow afternoon. you can go to ktvu.com and click on the link. the sacramento county main jail has a are 15 guns that are nearly untraceable. one day after the florida school shooting this man made and sold eight assault rifles and sold these ghost guns to an undercover agent. this was a homeland security investigation which used many ways to figure it out. they are legal to make but it illegal to sell. attendees saw the sum of the raffle prizes -- that some of the raffle prizes were guns. some walked out in anger when they saw one of the guns was an ar 15 being ruffled which is the same type of rifle used in the mass shooting. organizer should be concerned about putting one of those weapons out in the community. it is 6:10 am. two early-morning earthquakes woke people up. a magnitude 2.9 quake at 12:49 am was centered in danville this morning. this was under monta vista high school. there was a 2.5 quake around 2:30 am in the same area. we have not heard about any damage or injuries but plenty of people are saying they felt it. a private pilot made an amazing emergency landing on a freeway after an engine failure. it was on 101 in santa clara county. he wanted to make it to the airport but realized he was not going to make it that far. he searched for a place to last week on a 10 day carnival cruise in the south pacific. it reportedly started when someone stepped on one of the family members flip-flops. that led to what passengers called chaos and on -- anarchy on the ship. many people were scared to leave their cabins. the family in question were taken off by police in australia. carnival has offered a discount for future cruises and reviewing procedures for those on board. tesla is looking to make its model three safer after a crash. model three crash dummy was in an accident where he crashed into a car 60 miles an hour. it was totaled and public transit anywhere, bart is on its sunday schedule and also has free parking in the lots. new this morning there was a second fire just before 1:30 am at a condo complex that actually caught fire over the weekend. >> fire officials across the county say that it reignited from sunday mornings fire. look at this helmet cam video. they had it under control by 1:50 am. nobody was hurt but more than one dozen people already had to flee after the original fire. that started after a pot was left unattended on the kitchen stove. >> potential for disaster is huge. do not ever leave something cooking on the stove unattended. turn it off if you have to walk away. don't keep anything combustible like boxes or towels or plastic containers anywhere near the stove top. >> good advice. the 19-year-old who let the pot -- left the pot on the stove went door-to-door waking neighbors to help. everybody got out safely. one fire fire hurt his knee but is expected to be okay. fire crews in san leandro were set days checking for flareups after a fire yesterday morning in several commercial buildings. several businesses were damaged but nobody was hurt. two teenagers were arrested and booked into juvenile hall for attacking a man in the parking lot of the ashby station in berkeley. we are at the station this morning and this is the latest in a series of crimes. we are at the lafayette station not the ashley station. the victims told police that it was a group of four teenagers who attacked them. he could only identify two of them. the police are still looking for two more suspects. the victim is an adult man who suffered minor injuries and taken to the hospital after he was struck in the back of the head by 14s around 10:40 pm in the ashby parking lot. they arrested two juveniles. a similar attack happened friday night at 11 pm at the same station. for teenagers punched a man and stole his phone. they found the phone near the station but the suspects ran away. 30 minutes later another man said his laptop was stolen at the train station. as you may remember last spring in march and april huge mobs of teenagers attacked and robbed passengers on bart station trains. these were in oakland. the suspects were never caught. this is something that a lot of bart passengers are concerned about.  bart seems to be very safe but she travels during commute hours and knows some of the other writers -- writers jik -- riders. a gunmen took 17 lives at a high school in florida. many students want to take their messages to state capitals in washington dc. we report from washington. truck we typically see these intense calls for gun control gain momentum and run out of steam in washington. proponents of new laws say this time it will be different. a somber day in
