Creel has been an active duty in the air forces february 2009 and stationed at the Travis Air Force base he works in Security Forces and previously worked at a base in utah and a base in texas is no history of any military disciplinary records of crimes. Now as i said the fbi investigating seeing if hes linked to an ambush style killing of federal officers fatally shot outside the courthouse in oakland more than a week ago. Theyre trying to figure out the motive of that fun shooter who drove by shooting that not only killing a federal officer, but critically wounding another officer, so they feel like maybe he could be connected thats why theyre investigating with the fbi and local authorities. That was a longtime reporting governor newsome also extended his condolences. You see a portion of it on your screen in which he writes in part sergeant guts will or will be remembered as a hero who devoted his life to protecting the community and as a loving husband and father. The governor also said the capital flags will be flown at halfstaff in the deputies on her. Today marks 2 weeks since george floyd was killed by a Minnesota Police officer and his death as you know has sparked a nationwide movement and calls that have been echoed here in the bay area for justice take a look at the demonstrations from yesterday around the bay in the east bay, hundreds gathered in lafayette to protest police violence. That started at the Lafayette Plaza and moved along mount diablo boulevard to the Veterans Hall in oakland protesters made their way. On to interstate 80. And there was also a march around lake merritt. And artists and volunteers are painting a big black lives matter mural right now in oakland this project started yesterday morning. It stretches 3 blocks long along broadway and harrison the first black lives matter street mural popped up in washington d c. After that area was named the black lives matter plaza on friday. And this morning. Were also hearing from the teenagers who organized that big protest that march across the Golden Gate Bridge this weekend thousands of people came out in support of social justice and to support the black lives Matter Movement. The kron 4 i should say crawfords mobile actually spoke with 2 teenagers who say they were surprised at the turnout take a listen. Theyre the people who will make the change in the future so its different for our children when they go to school and there are huge young and driven 17 yearold tiana day and 19 yearold mimis may not have known each other 2 days ago, but after this. Organizing a massive march across the Golden Gate Bridge together the 2 are determined to keep up the momentum. I was like why dontwe go cross the new Bridge National monument which i mean the bridge signifies bring other people together so i think it was a really bad idea to get people from all different communities, all different cultures to march in solitary to represent the black lives Matter Movement she posted on social media i saw the ad and the fire for it and she said she needed someone who is going to help lead the movement so you know me being a black student only 17 years old i thought you know shes 19 it would be great if we let this together. They say they thought maybe a couple 100 people would show up so when thousands poured onto the bridge like were just absolutely saws honestly, so grateful. The girls say organizing the march has sparked many conversations about race and Police Brutality among their friends which theyre happy to have a lot of people in high school the states biggest taboo is a taboo topic to talk about slavery and talk about you know uncomfortable, yeah talking about racial slurs. Everything like revolving the black lives Matter Campaign i think its so important that we are sparking these conversations doctor unity is i think its really important. We also recognize that were fighting. For a quality with police definitely not against some, but by their side to end Police Brutality doing their best to bridge the gap of inequality and lead with love i think at the end of the day no matter theres obviously a ton of violence that kind of wearable things going on at the end of the day the people coming together and showing that they care about each other no matter what is most important.
