The family of a woman who was shot and killed in a brazen afternoon attack is seeking answers tonight. 25yearold gina estevez died yesterday after she was shot while driving in vallejo. Reporter the grieving family of 25yearold gina estevez told abc 7 news they are frustrated with the lack of information coming from Vallejo Police. While remaining hopeful investigators will catch those who killed the daly city woman. Estevezs cousin did not want her face shown. She didnt deserve this. Everyone loved her. We just we want justice for gina. Anything you know please contact the Vallejo Police department. Reporter estevez was found in the drivers seat of her tan mercedes with multiple gunshot wounds. She and her boyfriend had driven several blocks from this house where it appears the shooting occurred. The boyfriend was not seriously hurt. Four. Pop, pop pop, pop. He is between 26 and 30 years of age. A danville man accused of possessing child pornography pleaded guilty in court today. 59yearold Mitchell Wolf admitted to possessing 50,000 files of minors on his personal computer. Wolf was a teacher at Diablo Vista Middle School in danville. Hes currently released on a 250,000 bond. Wolfs sentencing hearing is scheduled for october 21st. I sue a commotion on the hill. I walked up there and they said we have a police dog a canine unit, please stay away. We got emails from a neighbor. We communicated that way through email, through different people in the neighborhood, plus on the phone. Reporter it started this morning when Police Received a call about two people, a man and a woman sleeping in a car at the community park. Police quickly arrested the woman after discovering there was a warrant for her arrest. While she was being handcuffed by one officer and placed in the vehicle the individual pushed himself away from the officer, ran from the officer. The officer and the subject became involved in a struggle. And then he ran off into the park. Reporter at that moment children at a soccer camp in the park were quickly removed and taken to a safe place. Today baltimores mayor announced her decision to let Anthony Batts go. Calls for his resignation began after the death of freddie gray who suffered a critical spinal issue in police custody. Mayor Stephanie Rawlings blake did not give a reason for firing batts but it comes amid a spike in the citys homicide rate. This was not an easy decision but it is one that is in the best interests of the people of baltimore. The people of baltimore deserve better. Since rioting following grays death stopped, baltimore has seen a sharp increase in violence with 155 homicides this year. Thats a 48 increase over the same time last year.
