Local leaders say theyve been advised by the federal government that passengers will only be on the tarmac, never in public space at the airport. We facetimed a cruise passenger on all the developments this morning. I have mixed emotions right now. Were glad to be getting off, but then again were going into quarantine. So right now when we get to a military base, well have to see what its going to be like. I talked to my neighbors below deck, yesterday we were all out, laughing, people having cocktails. So it was a cheery scene. Now were a little more anxious. Reporter one passenger sent us this letter this morning that shows the cruise will provide a full refund for the trip. Passengers will come off first who need help and a couple of passengers who tested positive will be quarantined and treated at local hospitals. The whole process is expected to take several days. Late this morning i got off the phone with the cdc and the spokesperson said the cdc is trying to decide whether to test everyone on the cruise ship or only those with symptoms. Opec was trying to get its allies including russia to make a deal to cut bag on production. And remember, supply and demand. If theres less supply and more demand, prices go up. Well, russia refused the production cuts. So saudi arabia slashed prices, oil plunged to 30 bucks a barrel, the biggest oneday drop since the gulf war in 1991. Coronavirus had already hit demand hard. The Silver Lining here, as the president tweeted earlier, is that gas prices are likely to drop. Now, with all this market turmoil, investors are searching for safe havens and theyre scooping up u. S. Treasury bonds. But its mainly a weather maker for southern tsee more clouds moving in, especially in the south bay. But right now, once again, were all clear and dry for the bay area. But mostly for areas like gilroy and parts of the Santa Cruz Mountains. As the rain approaches san jose, a lot of it starts to fall apart. We will still have slight rain chances for the south bay. Elsewhere it looks to stay dry. Look at how much rain we may see across southern california. This is going to be some really good news as san diego could get 1 3 4 inches, an inch for santa barbara. And look at our area, barely anything, as we see from areas south of palo alto. We could see light amounts of rain, a few hundredths of an inch, but nothing like the good soaker that we need. The rest of the week, the storm system moves on. Then well see it drying out and warming up the rest of the week, going back to springlike weather. Going into the weekend, once again, another low drops in and brings in cooler air and also some rain and sierra snow. This looks to be a pretty significant storm. This is what one computer model is showing in terms of sierra snow. Possibly over three feet of snow in kingvale, pretty significant snow which we havent had since january.
