Reporter saying sharp increases in cases, hospitalization, and deaths, Governor Newsom issued a regional stayathome order with strict new rules. Back to back days with 113 deaths just in the last 14 days, close to 1000 californians have lost their lives due to covid19. Reporter as of now, all nonessential travel is temporarily restricted statewide. Stayathome order breaks the state into 5 regions, instead of individual counties. Honor and celebrate county is included in the bay region. The trigger is when the icu capacity drops to 15 or less. Projections will go into place for at least three digit weeks. This new three week stay at home order would be triggered if hospital intensive Care Capacity drops below 15 in any of the five regions of california. Right now, none of the regions is affected. The governor says he expects it could happen for all regions except the bay area within days. The governor also says the bay area could see the order by the middle of the month. Governor newsom tried to reassure people in california that there is hope ahead as vaccines are rolled out. We do not anticipate having to do this once again. We really only to step up. We need to meet this moment had on. We need to do everything we can to stem the tide, bend the curve. Under the order, schools could stay open but ours, wineries, and hair salons would close.
