anti-terrorism people in france are investigating an attack on a plan which could have been a massacre if not for three americans, all from california. one from pittsburgh, one from sacramento and the third from oregon w he have the latest. >> in this dramatic exclusive video obtained by cnn you see the gun annual youth with his weapon nearby and injured while taking him down. potential terror attack happened on a train traveling from amsterdam to paris. two u.s. servicemen, alek skarlatos and spencer stone, both with sacramento ties, saw the man with the weapon and he came out shirtless with a rifle flung over his shoulder. he spraining into action and wrestled him to the ground. their mothers relieved. >> if they hadn't stepped up, there could have been a lot of deaths. >> we are very proud of them. >> anthony sadler was the third man who helped with the attack. he yelled get him, and spencer charged the gunman. three people were injured, k including spencer. he said the gunman slashed him with a box cutter. >> he has some cuts on his back and tried to cut his eye out. >> his finger. >> finger. he took his weapon and they each credit the other for saving his life. >> i talked to alek and he said the same thing. if it weren't for spencer, i would be dead. >> the gunman's motives are not yet no one. he was taken into custody. a potentially deadly train ride that ended much differently because of the heroic efforts of three men. >> very big relief. >> he was hospital highed and is reportedly doing okay. the anti-terrorism unit is now investigating. in the four years. stocks plummeted yesterday on fear china's economy is slowing and because of a dip in oil prices. index lost more than 1,000 points this week alone. the nasdaq lost more than 170 points and the s&p 500 dropped 64 points. investors are worried, particularly those at or near retirement age. >> recently the last year or so we had quite a few increases in the stock. so i hope it didn't take it all away. >> the economist said one of the worst things you can do is bail out. >> you have to look through the ups and downs in the market. strategically you should be diversify your assets. harvesting organs from a fetus aboarded and using it for research. it called center for medical progress. it recarded it from the group in san jose. they have been posting videos that planned of blue-green algae. it bows the greatest threat to pets and children. they say to avoid the water all together. high temperatures and the drought are ideal conditions for the algae according to officials. police in daly city are on the lookout for an older man who molested a child at a popular mall. a surveillance video shows the man they are looking for. police said he inappropriately touched a juvenile inside the restroom. he's described at 70 to 80 years old and was seen driving away in a silver honda. 5 castro valley 07, the time. san francisco police released surveillance video to find a man who attacked on a mini bus. it happened july 24th that was stopped at fulton and mass sonic. three people punched or smacked the man as he left and police identified one suspect, 18-year-old donald, but he cass not yet been arrested. the home season for the niners begins tomorrow and there are valid concerns about the turf trouble at levi's stadium. why the dallas cowboys are wednesday. district officials say they don't anticipate expanding class sized because they have now hired enough teachers. as we head into the final weekend of summer for the kids, hopefully its a proves distracted driving can be a killer. in 2012 more than 3,000 people died because of distracted driving. napa police say even using a hands-free phone can make driving more dangerous because it all across the state. there will be a protest to try to save the last undeveloped plot on telegraph hill. plot is just below coit tower and on top of the steps and offers a spectacular view of downtown. the protest begins at :00 this morning on the north beach side of telegraph hill. the committee to build point panoramic park will be kicking off a petition drive to stop the development >> we are looking at widespread rain showers each and every day with some flooding concerns for the islands. so if you have friends out there or family, not the ideal time to check out the islands for from our roof camera where we are looking at partial clearing today. 57 santa rosa. it's cooled off nicely in the north bay from napa to novato. upper 50s and low 60s with the clouds make them all the way out into our east bay. so with the gray sky here, the forecast highlights, a cloudy start, mild to warm over weekend, and temperatures are going to be back to afternoon. in fact, through the weekend and into next week maybe just a little bit of a bump-up. but overall it should be pleasant and typical with your summertime fog pushing ba being to the coast and the afternoon sea breeze getting a little bit more widespread throughout the afternoon. breezy around the bay, but really all in all the typical summertime conditions back with us for the next several days. so as we take a look at the bigger picture, you will notice an area of low pressure way up to the north in the gulf of alaska that's allowing for the high to stay moderate and not too strong. allowing for a quiet pattern to ensue for the weekend and into next week with the steady onshore flow. so temperatures in and around the south bay from 79 in santa clara. look for about 80 in san jose on the peninsula upper 70s from palo alto to redwood city. kind of on the clouds for pacifica and half moon bay. downtown partly cloudy. 68 degrees. in the north bay numbers ranging from the upper 60s in sausalito to the low 80s calistoga. breezy near east bay. we talked about the low 70s in oakland. 76 union city. chris, you were asking about the 80s and they are here, but it's very pleasant with the low 80s concord and pleasanton, upper 80s antioch and brentwood. the accuweather seven-day forecast. the weekend remains pretty much unchanged. a few degrees of warming monday into tuesday. look at low 90s officer. >> an oakland civil rights attorney says a police body camera video shows officers appeared to follow proper procedure when they chased a man who later died after being wedged between two buildings. john accompanying the family of the 23-year-old to watch footage of the foot chase and subsequent discovery of his body. the family accused police of beating him and covering up his death. they said the video did not appear to support that. >> we see proper in temperatures of perimeter that was set forth and ultimately they did find him at a location and there was nothing improper about that does not include paying off existing coliseum debt or buying almeda county out of the deal. still they are confident that oakland can keep both the raiders and the a's. >> money is not the issue. hitted it, and then i loved it again. i learned the slang. >> the son of two russian immigrants, he made his debut in san jose. his passion for performing has taken him all over the world for intensive training. but while he was busy in russia learning the theory, technique, he completed his high school studies online. >> we had one day off and i would go to starbucks for internet and go 63 concord and livermore and finally from the sutro tower camera, good visibility with the fog up so high. we are looking at the cloudy start, mild to warm this weekend and back to average temperatures for not only the weekend, but into next week. in fact we are going to warm up a little bit. here's a look at our quiet weather pattern. a weak ridge of high pressure is over the area. nothing too hard to take. the steady on shore push allowing for the sea breeze to get a little breezy around the bay toward midday. we will look for some hazy conditions continuing with the fires for the northern sierra and around yosemite with mid-90s there. warmer in lake tahoe than los angeles with the smoke and haze. 80 there. look for 72 in monterey. pretty mild on the coast. you see the 90 in sacramento. that means more pleasant 80s for us. let's look at san jose today with high of 80. a little shy of average but over the next couple of days a modest warmup. by the middle of next week, that's where we will see the warmest numbers. just in the mid-80s. a pretty nice catch for you in oakland today and the week ahead. so overall looking at upper 60s from half moon bay. 76 in santa cruz. 73 for oakland. upper 70s napa with 80 in santa rosa. 85 livermore. 83 in concord, morgan hill topping out in the low 80s f you are coming into oakland for the evening game, 6:05 temperatures pretty mild. 68 degrees. tampa is town still. looking like a pretty nice evening. the seven-day forecast, we like to call it stratus-go with the low clouds and fog continuing to kiel its presence at
