and he tells them that's not an appropriate question for this moment. >> brian: it's not up to you to decide what we are supposed to ask. plus the american people deserve explanations. i think it's fascinating that zelenskyy put together this peace summit in switzerland. he told the president i really need to come. i'm not i'm sending the vice president. i really need to you come. i'm not. what could be more important than him going to a peace summit in switzerland where they frame out what a cease-fire would look like? >> ainsley: a fundraiser maybe with celebrities? >> steve: you know. >> brian: crazy. >> steve: shows you who is running the white house and running the campaign. it's people that don't care that much about ukraine. they are sending the number two, the veep is going to wind up on june 3rd john kirby was asked about hey, isn't this a bad look that you would choose going to a fundraiser, actually the president is leaving this summit, the g-7 summit one day early go hang out with george clooney, bad look. here is kirby. >> doesn't it look a bit bad for the president to be skipping this peace summit for ukraine and going to a glitzy hollywood event instead? >> no matter who represents the united states and oh, by the way, the vice president is representing the united states of america at this summit. it can't be said that the united states has in any way walked away from supporting ukraine. >> lawrence: you know another reason -- i'm so sorry. why this is problematic because you continue to come to the american people and ask them for money and to support this, right? which i have no problem with. but you got to make the case for the american public. you just can't come to the american public when you want more money. and this was a great opportunity to frame the conversation. to frame where we go next. to talk about peace. to talk about the threat of russia. and the president just passes it over to number 2. and she is the only one that has the lower approval rating than he does. >> ainsley: it just shows you where his priorities are. he wants to make money for the campaign. that's more important last day of the g-7 skipping out day early. that's more important in this peace summit about ukraine. zelenskyy is asking world leaders to attend. >> lawrence: the campaign. >> ainsley: tell your people hey, we have got to change the date. if you want to raise money, let's do it next weekend. let's do it next saturday. instead they are doing it in hollywood, this coming saturday george clooney and julia roberts are going to be the star power individuals there and then jimmy kimmel and former president obama are going to lead the conversation. you also have other actors be there like jason bateman and jack black. >> brian: good luck with that. >> ainsley: 250 to 125,000 per ticket. >> brian: going to make a lot of money in hollywoods. is that the optics you want. president trump to contrast that will be in michigan saturday to hold a round table with church leaders and residents in detroit. >> lawrence: average day people. >> steve: do you know what donald trump is doing today? is he blowing out birthday cake candles. today is his birthday. he is 78 years old. >> brian: the house -- the house or the senate gave them the cake? >> steve: i think it was the house. >> brian: how many democrats were there to blow out the candles? we don't know. >> ainsley: he had a sharp surge in donations after convictions is he up there with joe biden kind of money. >> brian: two big dates the debates which we are going to talk about next week and then, of course, july 11th. july 11th is the sentencing, find out if he will be a free man to campaign. >> steve: if he will actually be able to go to the convention. he might not be able to if he is on home confinement which is crazy. >> brian: can he get skype in prison? >> steve: good question. 7:15 here in the east and carley joins us with other news. >> carley: big story out of texas that we have been following. a fox news alert. an inmate who escaped custody in houston has been captured after this massive manhunt that took place. during his escape, police say he held an assistant d.a. at knife point. jumped into her car but she ended up crashing just feet away. the suspect was on the run for 12 hours. he was being held on burglary and weapons charges. okay, switching gears here. do you remember this iconic scene from the movie titanic? what's your message to your grandparents -- your grandfather and your dad for father's day. >> i certainly got some values that i think are maybe what you would call traditional old school, whatever that is i spent time listen to roy a cough, merle haggard and george jones which is a lot of kids 13 and 14 years old. big outdoors man loved to fish hunt and golf. i got a second raising from my grandparents along with my parents. >> i think that probably helped me quite a bit. >> ainsley: i know you grew up in alabama and you went to jacksonville state university. you were d 1 qb when you were in college. how did you go from there to music? and did you expect to be this busy now? >> i had no clue what signing a record deal would do for my schedule. but. >> music career. it was -- i enjoyed playing sports growing up. never thought music would be in my career path. it was something i enjoyed really fortunate that people can relate to the songs i was coming up with and now we're right in the middle of it. >> are you writing a lot of these songs? >> as many as i can. >> ainsley: goran, i don't know how do you it. fame is difficult in many ways, wonderful in other ways. how are you balancing it all? >> i always say people never asked for pictures for construction work. >> ainsley: i doubt that all the girls in the studio, all the single girls are here to see you. >> it was really gradual for me, you know, getting recognized. i was a big deal in a small town in northeast alabama before, you know, signing a deal in 2018 and now it's a little bit different with social media everybody knows everything about you. >> ainsley: i know. >> i think my parents do meet and greets when they go to walmart in my hometown. >> ainsley: con graduate labor relations. we are proud of you at fox. you could have said no because you have so much on your calendar. support him. damn good day to leave. find many of these songs different around here which i love. tour ain't my last rodeo tour kicks off in november. buy tickets riley green music.com. thank you, riley. god bless you. >> i appreciate it. >> ainsley: turning to this now jewish leaders in new york city want anti-israel protests to take -- protesters to take off those masks that they all wear. we are going to tell you what the governor of the state just said. that's next. ♪ for up to 8 hours of powerful relief. new advil targeted relief. hi, i'm janice and i lost 172 pounds on golo. a friend told me that i was the only one holding me back from being as beautiful on the outside as i am on the inside. once i saw golo was working i felt this rush. golo really works. the future is not just going to happen. you have to make it. and if you want a successful business, all it takes is an idea, and now becomes the future where you grew a dream into a reality. the all new godaddy airo. put your business online in minutes with the power of ai. sure, i'm a paid actor, and this is not a real company, but there is no way to fake how upwork can help your business. search talent all over the world with over 10,000 skills you may not have in house. more than 30% of the fortune 500 use upwork because this is how we work now. >> steve: all right. karen reed trials resumes this morning as new testimony is linking d.n.a. found on her car to the boston police officer she is charged with killing. reed is accused of hitting her boyfriend john o'keefe with her car and leaving him to die in the snowy front yard. but she claims investigators are engaged in an elaborate cover-up. chanley painter joins us now in the studio with the latest. chanley?
