election before the really big election, we can say another issue is really, really giving the economy a run for its money. or lack of money or whatever. we're talking about abortion. consider abortion rights supporters winning a key ohio ballot measure. a democratic governor campaigning on reproductive rights holding on to win in kentucky. and a democrat picking up a seat on the pennsylvania supreme court after pledging to uphold abortion rights. the biggest of all of them, democrats taking full control of the virginia state house, presumably blocking republicaning from passing new abortion restrictions in a blow to governor youngkin. so you see what's going on? wonder why many democrats see hopeful signing for next year. not because they'll be focusing on the economy but precisely because they will not. abortion is a winning issue for them. we're all over it on "your world" starting now. welcome. i'm neil cavuto. one election changed every one's mind about what will be consequential and substantial in the next big election. of course, all of this as republican presidential candidates, the five you see there, get ready to debate in what is their third such debate of this go-around. and the sobering lessons they'll likely try to bring up from what happened last night and what it could mean a year from now. let's go to aishah hasnie with the reset going on in miami. aishah? >> hey, good afternoon to you, neil. you're right. all of these candidates have to be ready to tackle abortion head on. we are hearing that ambassador nikki haley is ready to take it on. we know in previous debates that she has seen a bump in polling when she's talked about this. this could be a big opportunity for her later tonight. here's where they all kind of stand where it comes to abortion. haley is focusing on a national consensus. we know governor ron desantis support as 15-week ban. tim scott is at 15 weeks. i'm told scott is not phased by what happened last night. governor chris christie says abortion should be left to the states. vivek ramaswamy says the gop needs to have a better messaging strategy. listen to this. >> i support voters and states making these choices. whatever the results are, you'll have great variation across the country in terms of what people want. >> i don't think it should be a sign that the republican party should abandon a pro life position. they need to graduate in not only how we take about this issue but putting substance in what it means to be pro life. if we frame this issue correctly, this need not be some sort of final sign that we take. >> now, neil, when you talk to folks here in miami, abortion is not at all what they're talking about. they're telling me they're worried about the economy, the border and national security. many of them favor former president trump. this comes as a new cnn polling shows trump is beating biden by four points if the election was held today. team desantis and haley are dumps on trump this morning for the disappointing gop results last night. haley calling trump a loser for his endorsed candidate losing the kentucky governor's race and team biden is expected, of course, in miami as well with some counter programming of their own. they'll try to contrast what they call these extreme maga policies, neil. the dnc just put up some spanish language billboards around the area around south florida. a mobile billboard will be circling the venue later tonight, neil. >> neil: thanks, aishah. let's go to jacqui heinrich at the white house and how they're suggesting a possible escape route from the economy and now to abortion. a far more friendlier issue for the democrats. test test. applying the term to this conflict. rashida tlaib's use of that phrase, the white house denouncing her use of that phrase, but they would not go so far as to say that censure was appropriate. but the state department condemned the state department condemned that very phrase a couple weeks ago. it reads revelling in the murder of rape and civilians, calling for the destruction of israel. such hatred makes peace harder to achieve. that was from president biden's special envoy to combat anti-semitism. an official statement on the u.s. state department web site that was not quite fully mirrored today from the podium, neil. >> thanks, jacqui. i want to go to amy, the messenger chief white house correspondent. we're still trying to digest the significance of last night's vote. abortion was key and influential in almost all of them. i'm just wondering now who that changes or could change the dynamic? it was an issue that tripped up republicans last year in the mid-terms, tripped some of them up this go-around. not in mississippi was re-elected. i wonder how you see this play out as an issue in 2024. >> i'm hearing from a lot of democrats that feel, you know, the biden campaign has been here doing a lot of counter programming here in miami where i am. i'm hearing from a lot of democrats that this should be the main issue that they talk about, not the economy, not anything else. they should focus and hone in on this. they're getting -- the biden campaign is hearing from the democrats that they should learn when has happened. it's an issue that moves voters, democratic voters, people concerned not voting or staying on the sidelines that they will get these people activated. so i think you'll be seeing much more of this, especially coming from the democrats, making this more of an issue and maybe hearing more from the president himself and not just kamala harris. i think that the white house was leaving that to her for awhile. a lot of people want to hear from the president himself on this issue. >> neil: you mentioned the president. i was hearing one democratic consultant on one of the news networks, i watch them all to know what's going on and one said this gives the president a pass or relief on he's too old for the job and the revolt going on in the party. i don't know if that is a bit extreme. the question ask can it last. what do you think? >> i don't know. i'm hearing from a lot of democrats that are a little worried about the polls. they feel like they're real. biden campaign is obviously saying -- the campaign manager saying this is too -- it's not predictive of the next year. we're feeling good about where we are. a lot of democrats feel completely differently. i think that that is -- you're going to see them sort of try to do more, try to talk more about the economy. they haven't sold it well. they know they haven't sold it well. you're going to hear more of this coming up from them. they haven't done a good job selling the president's agenda and what he has been doing. there's a lot of voters that feel that they were better off four years ago under president trump. >> neil: so things could change. amy parnes, always good talking to you. thanks. ivanka trump on the witness stand testifying in her father's fraud trial against the family's business. she comported herself well. there's some ironies why she had to testify at all. nate foy has more right now from the courthouse. during her directed examination today, ivanka answered questions about her role at the trump organization as a former executive securing loans for various properties, some transactions dating as far back . >> shows will attempt the distance herself from the company. the facts will reveal that in fact she was very much involved. we uncovered the scheme and she benefitted from it personally. >> neil, the former president laid out his defense on truth social writing no victims, no defaults, conservative financial statements. 100% disclaimer clause. corrupt attorney general, trump-hating judge equals no case. ivanka is the final witness. lawyers for former president donald trump will present their own witnesses in making his defense. neil? these attacks if we're to believe this was to jolt the world in to action an attention of palestinians. >> they don't care about palestinians. i know that for sure. first of all, they shot even the palestinians that were -- >> there were some palestinians in israel with the festival this happened. they shot palestinians as well. they shot muslims. they shot christians. >> neil: what do you think is hamas' end game? >> i don't think they have one. >> they just hate. >> they want to exterminate all jewish people and exterminate israel as they said bluntly. to the open, as many times as possible. the world hasn't understood it enough apparently. now they -- the goal is to demolish hamas. i think that the number 1 goal should be first to release all of the hostages. this is just a cynical game that they're playing. they're saying we want cease fire only if -- sorry. we will release hostages only if you have a cease fire. >> on october 6, there was a cease fire. the day before. >> neil: we'll watch it closely. i know this has been wrenching. i cannot imagine it. you're on a mission, a mission from god. >> but one important thing. >> neil: please, finish. >> there are hostages like my uncle, for example. he's not in good condition. he hardly walks. he walks with a cane. he hardly sees. he has problem with his eyes. he wears glasses. we don't know if he gets his medicine. the youngest is ten months old. the oldest is 85 years old. from that kibbutz, there's 78 hostages out of population of 400. >> neil: just amazing. keep us posted. we'd love to have you back. see how this story ends. hopefully happily. >> thanks very much. >> neil: more after this. sam wh, everyday products, designed smarter. genius! like 2.5% cash back on purchases of $5,000 or more, so sam can make smart ideas, a brilliant reality! chase for business. make more of what's yours. we really don't want people to think of feeding food like ours is spoiling their dogs. good, real food is simple. it looks like food, it smells like food, it's what dogs are supposed to be eating. no living being should ever eat processed food for every single meal of their life. it's amazing to me how many people write in about their dogs changing for the better. the farmer's dog is just our way to help people take care of them. ♪ >> neil: own right, i want to bring up two urgent developments in the middle east right now, what concerns targeting air base, hosting forces in northern iraq. there is still another development working on top of, you know, mq-9 reaper drone, about $32 million worth, shot down by houthi rebels of yemen, part of the so-called proxies iran has and pays for, we do not know much more than that, we do know we have just the right guest for the moment, senator mark warner, senate intelligence committee chairman, among others. we do not know a lot about these details. we do know right now that they involve enemies that are connected to iran. what do you make of it? >> well, i literally got told about the incident just as we were coming on, so i know as little as you. i know that we have been worried for sometimes that iranian proxies in the region, whether it be the houthis or shia militia groups that received backing from iran may try to go after more of our groups in the region, we have tens of thousands of troops not just in syria, iraq, iran, all over the region. one of the reasons we all support israel's efforts to eliminate the hamas leadership. we do think they need to do this with some care because the chance and possibility of this widening to a regional war is enormous, one of the reasons why i was proud, happy finally to see prime minister netanyahu's that he was to try to rein in some of the settler violence that is taking place in the west bank, where innocent palestinians are getting killed because the last thing israel needs at this point is for the palestinian security forces, for example, in the west bank to all quit at once, and suddenly you have the israeli defense forces not only deal in gaza, but also on the west bank. this is a very dangerous time, as you know, and i hope most members appreciate it. >> neil: i just wonder if we can appreciate, you know, the wrath of iran here, if it is behind these now, what, 40 or so attacks in the last three weeks. maybe the assumption, senator, is they don't think we will hit them, we might hit their proxies. we have heard the old story, hit a tent in a desert in syria and leave it at that and they know that because they know we are anxious about targeting them directly because that would invite a wider conflict, some say even world war iii. how do you feel about that? do you think we should respond to these attacks going after iran itself? >> i think we have to be very careful and thoughtful who fires the first bullet directly from iranian forces or american forces at each other. bears a huge amount of responsibility. i think the iranians are following very closely not one, but the fact we have two carrier groups in the region. one that is more closely aligned closer to iran and one in the eastern mediterranean. i think they are aware of that show of force. >> neil: do you think they are assuming, we only have a little bit left, do you think they assume we won't go after them directly in this environment? >> neil, i do not believe, they don't think we will safely -- we won't go after them. i do tell you this, though, neil. if we walk away from ukraine and don't honor our commitment there, then i think that gives more signals to iran that, you know, america doesn't keep its word, it doesn't honor its alliances, and anyone that cares about iran or cares about president xi's rise and the ccp's rise in china come if you don't understand the connection that has two putin and ukraine, your funking geopolitics 101. >> neil: center, i know hit with a lot of breaking news of the last we appreciate your understanding. senator mark warner, senate intelligence committee chairman. there is so much we don't know, so much we do. the war everyone doesn't want to widen keep suddenly trying to widen. we will try to stand top of it.
