hill, leading the country in unprecedented territory. house of representative begins a frantic search for a new speaker. 217 around one person. there are days left to avoid a shutdown. the process is on hold. this is "outnumbered," i'm kayleigh mcenany. here with my co-host harris faulkner and emily compagno. joining us fox business anchor, dagen mcdowell, and co-host of the verdict ben ferguson. kevin mccarthy is now the first speaker in the history of the united states to be stripped of the gavel. his historic removal was led by fellow republican matt gaetz. matt gaetz was furious because kevin mccarthy was working with democrats. gaetz had to work with democrats to oust the house speaker, so there is that. there was a dramatic vote. final vote total was 216-210, with majority voting to vacate the chair of the house speaker. every democrat voted for mccarthy removal along with eight republicans. they got support from the eight. here is what the florida congressman had to say after the vote. >> benefit of this country we have a better speaker of the house than kevin mccarthy. kevin mccarthy couldn't keep his word. he made an agreement how washington would work and he violated that agreement. we are facing annual deficits and face deglobalization that will crush working class americans. kevin mccarthy is a feature of the swamp. he's risen to power by collecting special interest money and redistributing money in exchange for favors. we're breaking the fever now. >> kayleigh: now kevin mccarthy says he will not run for the speakership again and he's defending his deal to avert a government shutdown and claim matt gaetz efforts stem from his ethics investigation. >> doing the right thing is not always easy, but it is necessary. i don't regret for choosing governing over grievance. it is my responsibility, it is my job. i do not regret negotiating. our government is designed to find compromise. you all know matt gaetz. you know it was personal temperature had nothing to do about responding, nothing about, everything he accused somebody of doing, he was doing. i've seen the texts, it is about ethics, that is all right. >> kayleigh: republicans in disarray as the nation battles inflation and the southern border is lawless and you have unpopular democratic president where we should be facing our fire. my takeaways, number one democrats stick together, they did yesterday, republicans do not. number two, chaos is consequence of no red wave. when you have a slim majority, the few overtake the whole and quest for perspection can backfire. we did not get the cr with deep spending cuts because those folks wouldn't speak for it. we couldn't get a more liberal speaker and may not get somebody as far right as kevin mccarthy. >> when you look at gaetz, this was personal from the beginning. it was personal. i hate you, i'm going to ruin your life. he reminds me of ross perot. i'm not going to be president, but i hate george bush, so i will run and give it to somebody else and that is what gaetz is now. i'm famous and instagram and twitter, fine. don't try to be a member of congress at the same time, you are destroying everything else around you. he is toxic for the environment. democrats fight behind closed doors and gaetz is doing it in public. burn it down, he thinks he is successful the other thing that makes me angry about gaetz, if he was smart, he would have done this not on the same day hunter biden is in a federal courtroom for goodness sake. you missed entire news cycle of hunter biden being in court because you picked the first time in history, the same day to get rid of kevin mccarthy? if you care about truth and you care about exposing corruption, who is more corrupt, biden crime family or kevin mccarthy? he missed an opportunity because he is selfish guy in congress who thinks he had a great day. he did for himself, he hurt the country and hurt the party. >> kayleigh: and bob menendez stepping down amid all this. house speaker newt gingrich made it simple in terms of football. watch. >> the university of georgia bulldogs were number one in the country right now, you started a game and four members of the offensive squad decided they were on the alabama side and began tackling your own people, you would probably get them off the field. think what we saw today. four %, 4% decided they were so morally superior so intellectually poor and patriotically better, that they would side with democrats and that is what they did. >> kayleigh: hmm. >> harris: he's not alone in thinking like that, i have a snipit from your show. senator john kennedy was on when? >> ben: he said this morning in front of a presser. >> harris: i don't have advice for my house colleague, follow your heart, take your brain with it. i advise my house colleagues to be sure to take your meds. that is from senator john kennedy from louisiana. thank you for sending me that, by the way. look at both sides of this, it is important. american people have said and we know it in those district, these eight and many others have run on the republican side, they don't want business as usual in washington. to make change, sometimes it is tricky and dirty, you know what helps you, having a plan for after the change happens. that is what happened. i had representative andy biggs on of arizona, he said, i didn't know patrick mchenry was going to send everyone home. yeah, we can't go ahead with the subpoenas, what about the impeachment inquiry. the subpoenas can go through, but you need a speaker of the house to make sure those things are ready to go and can get on committees and the committees are flowing, so on and so forth. he didn't know. i said, were you a voting block, did you game this out and get together and figure out what was going to happen? he said, i knew i was going to vote, i didn't know all the democrats were going to join us. this needed a day one after meeting for those that were going to block. it doesn't look like that happened and certainly for representative andy biggs, some of what the interim speaker of the house, trike, according to what he just told me is surprising to him. i have other examples, but i shouldn't be the only person who talks. >> kayleigh: one of the eight was upset over anti-gun legislation, not coming from a conservative place. american people sit back and see chaos. they see the fact you have a democrat who pulled a fire alarm, republicans are fighting one another, a congressman is getting hijacked in d.c. here is their reality, the reality of americans. child care cost more than college in 28 states. starter homes a thing of the past. u.s. inflation. why not address these issues instead of fighting one another? >> emily: that is right and we are paying salaries of those participating in the circus. optics matters and so does harnessing this narrative approaching the election. this is appalling what went on under their watch. no explanation. no sound bite that gets likes on twitter can explain away abomination that occurred in the congressional hall yesterday. the dnc said now that we are the adults in the room. bring up the football analogy, if you get hit first, if you hit back, you get penalized. it makes them look juvenile and they are squandering taxpayer dollars and our time and most importantly as aishah hasnie reported, everything is at a standstill, there is no precedence for this. the answer is, it is likely unobtainable and doable that the existing subpoenas can be enforced, there that can be any oversight so basically all movement the house was achieving and demonstrating value and dedication to the american people, appropriate stewardship of funds, all that is frozen right now. it took 15 times for kevin mccarthy to get the speakership, how many times on the next one? he was voted in in january, they started in november. we are being ill served right now. >> kayleigh: jim jordan, steve scalise, excellent charges, you have to coalesce to one. >> dagen: matt gaetz wants a pedicure in public. what andy biggs is talking about, andy biggs knew the speaker kevin mccarthy might get ousted, regardless of what happened in the coming week. he knew if the speaker was ousted, to paraphrase what byron donalds was talking about, the appropriations bills would get tossed out of the window and funding the government out of the wind in november and securing the border right out of the window. he did know that would happen. matt gaetz, you compared him to ross perot, you should not throw ross perot in the sewage lagoon with matt gaetz. i compare him to that toddler we've seen at the family barbecue eating toilet paper, shoving cheerios up his nose to get attention, that is what matt gaetz did yesterday. saddled up with all those democrats. >> harris: i didn't go to that barbecue. >> kayleigh: stop tackling team republican and tackle team democrats. figuratively speaking, democrats are trying to make president biden look cooler for young voters and turning to the movie "mean girls," i'm sure that will work. ♪ if you're a veteran wife, homeowner, and the family bookkeeper, you're the first to know when high rate debt is stressing your budget. but your family's service has earned you a big advantage. the va home loan benefit. with the lower rate newday 100 va cash out loan, you can pay off high rate credit cards and car loans. and can save $6,000 a year. that's real money you can use to take care of your family and home. my name's dan and i live here in san antonio, texas. my wife magda and i have been married for 39 years. about three or four years ago, i wasn't feeling as if i was as sharp as i used to be. i wanted to try something that was over-the-counter. i saw the prevagen commercials. after a short amount of time taking prevagen, i started noticing a difference-- that i'm remembering this, i'm remembering that. i stopped taking prevagen and i found myself slacking back so i jumped right back on it. i feel as if it's brought me back to the good 'ol days. prevagen. at stores everywhere without a prescription. icy hot. ice works fast. ♪ heat makes it last. feel the power of contrast therapy. ♪ so you can rise from pain. icy hot. here's why you should switch from chrome to duckduckgo. duckduckgo is a browser you download to your mobile and desktop devices. unlike chrome, the duckduckgo browser has privacy built-in. it comes with a private alternative to google search, which doesn■t spy on your searches, and it blocks cookies and creepy ads. and there's no catch. it's free. we make money from ads, but they don't follow you around. join the millions of people taking back their privacy by downloading duckduckgo on mobile and desktop today. municipal bonds don't usually get the media coverage the stock market does. in fact, most people don't find them all that exciting. but, if you're looking for the potential for consistent income that's federally tax-free, now is an excellent time to consider municipal bonds from hennion & walsh. if you have at least 10,000 dollars to invest, call and talk with one of our bond specialists at 1-800-217-3217. we'll send you our exclusive bond guide, free. with details about how bonds can be an important part of your portfolio. hennion & walsh has specialized in fixed income and growth solutions for 30 years, and offers high-quality municipal bonds from across the country. they provide the potential for regular income... are federally tax-free... and have historically low risk. call today to request your free bond guide. 1-800-217-3217. that's 1-800-217-3217. ♪ >> emily: bad polls can drive you to do a lot of things and president biden is facing bad polling. yesterday democrats tried to rebrand president biden for a younger audience using mean girls day, october 3. >> talking to aaron more and more, on october 3, he asked me what day it was. october 3rd. >> emily: dnc thought it would be a great idea to use this moment from the movie. if you need anything, don't be shy, there are no rules in this house, i'm not like a regular mom, i'm a cool mom, right regina?
