biden's doj lawyers were hunter biden's defense team. in a proceeding supposed to be adversaryial, all lawyers on one side and all the lawyers worked to hide from the judge an immunity agreement within the pre-trial diversion agreement and the judge caught them and that really is what -- where this thing fell apart pretty quickly. >> in terms of hunter biden now, the justice department hid immunity, trying to make it so he couldn't be prosecute said in the future and they panicked and said he was under investigation for fara, foreign registration act. do you believe the justice department, given they were on the same team to get hunter biden the deal are actually investigating him for that? >> john: i think we should all be skeptical of that. this is probably the most politically corrupt case i've ever seen. the department of justice and fbi investigators in the matter were cutting off lines of inquiry into witnesses or tipping off witnesses and are wells about subpoenas and offering unicorn type pre-trial diversion no one had heard of and the judge called them out on that. so this for attorney general merrick garland, for christopher wray, for u.s. attorney weiss, they ought to be ashamed, another huge black eye for the doj. hunter biden's legal issues and where this goes, i think the more significant issue is political ramifications of this deal falling apart. biden justice department and biden white house expected everyone to be in a position, justice was served, republicans, it was time to move on and now as you talked about, we have witnesses like devin archer and if reports are accurate, if he gives a first-hand account under oath and says i was there and joe biden was on the phone with hunter biden and hunter said the big wigs at burisma need our support and joe biden delivered the support weeks later by using billion dollar leverage to fire the prosecutors, we'll be in impeachment inquiry faster than joe biden can get up the steps of air about fara. questions on technicality of the plea deal. hunter biden accepted this plea deal and was going to put in a guilty plea for the charges and now he's put in a not guilty plea. is it standard procedure for a defendant to say they will plead guilty and reject the plea and get to do it all over again when we know the lawyers are working together to get him the best deal instead of prosecuting him to the fullest extent of the law? he is in pretrial proceedings right now. >> john: everything about this is not normal and everything is abnormal. look at the statistics, biden justice department charged over 4000 controlled-user-in-possession of firearm cases not once has biden administration offered -- hunter biden is 1 in 4000 unicorn. it has been a scam from the start. the good thing here, katie, it fell apart under scrutiny of a federal judge and now all the folks that wanted this to go away, it is under a spotlight, whether they like it or not, best possible i think that is what they are looking at. merrick garland, david weiss, whole cast have not been forthcoming to congress. i think they are still in fact-finding phase. impeachment tends to have a life of its own. the process snowballs and in add addition, it has been so debase by these hasty impeachment that i think some people want it for payback. >> katie: what about the numbers here, even if enough evidence to justify impeachment and many say there is given the fbi 1023 form, which mentions bribery, that has been corroborated by other pieces of evidence, whether from the hunter biden again, i don't think impeachment will go anywhere for now. for one thing in the senate, they will not get, i think they need 17 democrats to sign on for conviction. i don't think there is a chance in hell they get that many democrats to sign on. it is valuable because we can get at the truth. what we need to know is what happened. look back at 2020 campaign. joe biden was saying all along he never discussed his business, that looks very doubtful now. he said during debate, his family didn't get a dime from china, hunter biden admitted in court they did, he got a lot of money from china and he of donald trump and why democrats rushed to do that. if you re-read the phone call they say was inappropriate. zelenskyy was a new president and president trump takes him up on that offer and says, why didn't you look into the corruption and why this prosecutor in ukraine was fired and connected to the bidens. here is this information that was a valid question. didn't democrats set the standard for hasty impeachment? not that republicans should follow based on their standard. but they set the rules and now they don't want to play by them. >> yes, not only in impeachment, but prosecution and rush by every prosecutor in the u.s. to go after donald trump and what the public sees is that it is one-sided. people associated with trump, for example, were prosecuted under foreign yaej
