to hear a little bit of the crowd that is here outside of the courthouse celebrating this verdict which came after more than 27 hours of deliberation. the panel of six men and six women kim potter guilty of first and second-degree manslaughter. this outcome was by no means a sure thing. just a few days ago, the jury indicated that they may not be able to reach a consensus but with this verdict the jury indicated they believe the former officer was reckless and negligent when shot daunte wright with her gun instead of her taser. in the courtroom, potter showed no emotion as the judge read the jury's decision and she wanted her fate. >> we, the jury, a charge of manslaughter in the first degree while committing a misdemeanor on or about april 11, 2021 in henneman county we find the defendant guilty. >> a short time later minnesota prosecuted the casing this verdict brings accountability to daunte wright's death and well pleased with the outcome, his heart goes out to kim potter and her family. >> what decent person wouldn't be brokenhearted and set it involved in something like this?
