there are just under 330 million people in the united states over the past 24 hours, more than 150 million of us, nearly half of us have been put under some kind of winter weather advisory. ice storm warnings, winter storm warnings, winter weather advisories. those warnings have been issued in 25 of the 50 states. for the first time ever in u.s. history, the entire state of texas has been put under a winter storm warning. that s the first time that s ever happened. winter storm warnings extending also to all of arkansas and most of louisiana and most of mississippi and, i mean, it is one thing to have snow and ice in places like minnesota and massachusetts and maine. mississippi is another thing altogether. it looks like all-time new record low temperatures will be set in some places in the united states. today and into this week, parts of the u.s. right now are 50 degrees colder than their average temperature for this time of year. 50 degrees lower than what they usually are
