allegations that are not panning out. i believe it is a walgreens in california. >> you hear a lot of misinformation concerning this particular wave of crime. number one, most crime is down but for homicides. >> harris: good to know that barnum and bailey might come back, looking for people who can vanished things. this is "outnumbered." i am harris faulkner. joined by my cohost emily company went kayleigh mcenany, and entrepreneur and author of woke inc. i will start with you real quickly and get your topline thoughts. >> i think it is a remarkable point of the fbi has stayed back from getting involved in these cases of violence across the country, while they go after parents at school board meetings a number of months ago. i know this is not directly related to the local issues we are seeing across the country, but it speaks to the role of what the fbi stands for today. i think their absence in this matter speaks volumes. i personally think for all the discussion we have had about defunding the police at the local level, the conversation we haven't had is about defunding the fbi at the federal level. the next conservative president in the white house should talk about shutting down that institution because of what a failure it represents and the local problems we are seeing across our nations and cities, just a symptom of a deeper cancer relating to the role of the fbi and feeling to step up to address real threats to security within our nation. >> harris: vivek started with heat. a local democrats seem to be in denial. white house claims they are taking the crime wave seriously. here is press secretary jen psaki. >> secretary psaki: we have seen disturbing videos showing retail thefts in major retells as well as state and local leaders. governor newsom has identified this as a concern. that is why we have sent additional support from the fbi, providing additional assistance. we have also provided money for financial assistance to hire 50 more police officers through the cops program that the president has championed in places like san francisco, 20 officers in los angeles. >> harris: the problem is that it is all news to the national sheriffs association, which says california officials tell us there have been zero federal resources, and even the fbi says they haven't done anything more. that makes vivek's point appeared chicago is working with this: zero new federal help. those dollars are droplets in a boiling ocean. 50 offices in los angeles, 20 in san francisco. that's less than one-tenth of the 1% of their respective manpower needs. wow. tomi lahren. >> tomi: when we are talking about giving more money, that won't solve the problem. yes, defendant police department, cities -- that's been a serious problem, but this is more of a culture problem. we have created a culture of lawlessness in this country. you mention prop 47, 57, zero cash bail like you have in new york. those are big problems over policy problems. the politicians that advocate for them, them and the policies need to be getting rid of. with police officers, you cannot demonize them on a daily basis, for an entire summer riot season, and then say "don't worry, we are going to hire 50 more officers here and there." it does not do much good if the policies don't allow them to do their jobs effectively and at their full capacity. it does not do a lot of good to say you are going to hire police officers when police officers are retiring and don't want to do jobs because of those policies and because of the constant demonization of that profession. not only politicians, but by most of the mainstream media. this is a much bigger problem. this is a culture of lawlessness, and a little bit of money here or there is not going to solve this problem. it needs to be a top-down approach. they need to get their hands dirty and get some work done. it's not going anywhere. >> harris: that point about lawlessness, it certainly feels that way, kayleigh. no matter where you are in this country, you are aware things are different. it >> kayleigh: it is clear. to take a stroll around new york city. >> harris: of the midwest the north, south. >> kayleigh: everywhere, and it feels like especially in liberal cities. jen psaki needs a finger tab in her folder on crime. it's not working. there was no answer. perhaps that is why the dash will get 17.9 millions to project-safe neighborhoods. that is a program that has been around since 2001. i am not sure throwing money at an issue is taking it seriously. >> harris: i want to ask about that. the "law & order" president -- he and i talked about this at the time, president trump, in june, right after george floyd had died, was killed -- his whole point was "i am offering help to cities." that's when the rioting, the looting, was out of control appeared some places don't want to take it. some places are democrat-led cities. was it politics? i don't know! look at it now. it was policy. this is what they had. >> kayleigh: at the top of this, we heard the democrat mayors denying the problem. contrast that to kansas city. quentin lucas came out -- after he was killed, sent a letter and said "we need a special legislative session." he sent a letter to doj. "i need help." they caught the killer. that is what a partnership on behalf of your people look like, what lucas did with the trump administration. >> harris: i have to ask you about this. the district attorneys, like in l.a. and philadelphia. why do they not see what people are experiencing? forget about what we report on. perhaps they don't watch television. in their own constituencies, why don't they see it? >> emily: that is what everyone is asking. that is why when asked about it -- what do you have to say to the sheriffs association calling for help from you to help prosecute these guys? he goes "my father told me never to wrestle with a pig." those are the kinds of messages that these people are undergoing in their cities: a lack of support for law enforcement by the people who are supposed to be supporting them, namely the district attorneys. that is in addition to the $139 million appropriated to these agencies in the last bill from the federal government. to everyone's point, we are being tasked with throwing tax dollars at everything on the federal level. depending on the administration, we have local cities that are either crying out for federal help or refusing the funding, and calling the federal government "stormtroopers," as they did in portland when president trump tried to put federal agents on the street. then, we are having a lack of support for law enforcement in these cities and infighting, which is why residents are calling to recall the district attorneys. speaking on what you read earlier, and the point that the president of the sheriffs association was making, which is "it does not matter how much money we are throwing at it. it's still not enough. too little too late." when you have the chain irrevocably broken, no amount of money is going to restore the lives lost and residents living in fear. >> harris: i don't know how long this will be sustainable. the criminals are running the show. >> emily: i don't think it was sustainable along time ago. i think we broke that point along time ago. >> harris: that is what we need to do. we need to buy macbooks for the d.a. coming up, we are nearing a verdict in the jussie smollett trial. even though he is accused of faking a hate crime, black lives matter leader is rushing to his defense, saying never believe police. ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ people everywhere living with type 2 diabetes are waking up to what's possible... ...with rybelsus®. [laughter] i have friends that are liberal. we can't exist in an echo chamber. we need to have conversations with people we disagree with. i'm not necessarily attracted to liberal men -- sorry -- but i will say this, the party of love and tolerance project their true feelings on her republicans quite often. they say we are hateful, intolerant, bigoted, but time and time again they are showing their true colors, and it really is a projection of how they feel. that's okay, there's plenty of conservatives out there. frankly, i think we tend to be better looking. [laughter] a conservative man, like my husband. vivek, i have a theory -- for some on the left, their politics is their religion. they take it so personally, they can't just let it roll off their shoulders when disagreed with political. >> vivek: you said it well. politics is the new religion, especially amongst the younger generation of liberals who lack religion. they have relocated their religious impulses to politics. there are stringent religious orthodoxies, you can't marry outside of your religious. there is a lot to that analogy. there is also an opportunity for the republican party, and i don't think they are doing this purposely. the republican party could become the party that embraces classical liberal values, that even though i disagree with what you say, i will defend it to the death your ability to say it, even have solidarity across those. it also presumes, by the way, that unlike a religion where you generally stay with him through the course of your life, people can change their mind about politics. i live in ohio, a state that went from obama twice and then trump twice. that includes the same people who voted in one direction that voted differently in a different cycle. that's what the younger generation is missing. they think they love diversity and inclusion, but actually, in the name of inclusion, they are creating this exclusive culture. there is another survey run earlier this year that found that 60% of people, including republicans, democrats, and independents, were afraid of exposing their true beliefs in public because of that new cultural environment. that betrays what america is about. >> kayleigh: vivek, you always make the most interesting points. a huge reason for your points being correct, there are liberal universities which self-imposed that there is only one way to think, which simply isn't true. looking live at fox square, where all american christmas treat is rising again. find out when you can watch the lighting ceremony, right here on fox, tonight. ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ your kindness outshines your highs and lows. your strength can outlast any bad day. because you are greater than your bipolar i, and you can help take control of your symptoms -
