forget the battle of york town hell forget the declaration of independence. none of these things matter to the 1619 project or woke left it looks like these efforts are actually working. in new york city, the statue of thomas jefferson that stood in city hall for 187 years is being taken down because workers said it made them feel a little bit uncomfortable. and just down the street, at the museum of natural history, another president -- yeah, you heard that right. a history museum is canceling history because last friday it was announced that the statue of teddy roosevelt will be leaving its perch in front of the museum after more than 08 years. so between jefferson and roosevelt, that's now half of the faces on mount rushmore that the left has taken down. these are the heroes of our nation. being recast as villains by uninformed mob. the woke left isn't stopping there of the new target is none other than tomorrow's holiday thanksgiving. the media has spent the last week trying to convince america that thanksgiving is a celebration rooted in easel. >> pilgrims did not bring turkey, sweet potato by or can berry to thanksgiving. instead of bringing stuffing and biscuits those settlers brought genocide and sigh violence. that genocide and violence still on the menu. >> at my house we might have pie on the menu certainly not genocide. not to be out done. newspapers want us to join the hate with the philadelphia tribune saying celebrating thanksgiving is celebrating racist genocide. and "u.s.a. today" thanksgiving day of mourning for indigenous people this revisionist history is just wrong. the pilgrims were friends hosts and thank of thankful for their help. rich mowery the peace with the wampanoag lasted 30 years. tomorrow is a day of coming together to celebrate our family. our freedoms and the fact that we live in the greatest country on earth. and maybe nothing sums it up more than these powerful words from one of america's great thinkers lioness from the peanuts. >> your 1621, the pilgrims held their first thanksgiving feast. they invited the great indian chief who brought 90 of his brave indians in a great abundance of food. brewster who was a minister said a prayer that went something like this. we thank god for our homes and our food and our safety in a new land. we thank god for the opportunity to create a new world where freedom and justice. >> and that is what this holiday is about. thanking god for everything we have in this beautiful country. well that and a little bit of football. trash people owho guilt great nation. here to respond is the governor of south dakota and our friend kristi noem. to so, governor, listen, give me optimism what are you celebrating? what are the people are in south dakota celebrating and thankful for as you come into thanksgiving tomorrow? >> well, first of all, sean, thank you for covering the true history of this holiday. it's an incredibly special holiday for all of us here in south dakota and across the country. and you telling the story of what really happened back then is incredibly important because i have learned that throughout the years we have to continue to educate the next generation on what the real history is. and what a true history is. and the fact that those native americans far outnumbered those pilgrims at plymouth and they brought the food to them and helped take care of them and they celebrated and grateful together i think is incredibly important message for this country today. listen, in south dakota, we're still harvesting. we have some folks that are still bringing food in from the fields. we are incredibly grateful for safety afternoon the good weather that we have had. loot of people are hunting out, hunting deer and fess desantis in the morning and we will all sit around our tables and celebrate our families and be glad that god has blessed south dakota in incredible ways. you talked about a lot of other states that are tearing down statues, south dakota is putting them up. in fact, we are taking the four presidents that are on mount rushmore, we are building statues to them and putting them on our capitol rotunda so we can send a message to the west of the world leaders. they led us through challenging times and we are going to stand behind our true and honest history. >> governor, it is great to have awesome governors who defend history. as i talked about in lead-up to bring youing you on. there is a concern because the left is canceling two of the faces on mount rushmore, any concerns about the left coming for mount rushmore in south dakota? >> well, there was a lot of threats, especially when president trump visited july 3rd of 2020. in fact, we had to put security folks out there. and they partnered very well with secret service and with other law enforcement officers to keep it safe. it was amazing to me the threats that were coming against mount rushmore. several people were threatening to blow it up. several were threatening to pour red face down the faces and stain it forever. we had to expend resources as a state to protect that national monument. so, you know, the real hate in this country, i think for our history, we have to recognize has been around for a very long time. although it's not been something that so many people in the country have been aware of. and that we have realized has taken place. and is continuing to take place in so many parts of this country. >> sean: to that point we see that now more than ever the left is attacking history. they are attacking thanksgiving. a question for you is how do we actually defend it. what dewould have to do as americans how do we defend history and thanksgiving to make sure we preserve it for future generations. >> you tell the history and you educate people. use every opportunity you have to be in front of a group to share the true history of what happened. and that's one of the reasons why when we're focusing on our k-12 curriculum is making sure we are going to have children read the declaration of independence. we are going to have them read the history of thanksgiving. and what really happened so that we can't have people twisted and make lies out of it and use it for an agenda that they want to fundamentally change this country. so our foundation was built on people seeking freedom. they came here for freedom from tyranny and one of the democracy in a republic where they could make choice are for themselves. those pilgrims at plymouth learned that through their partnership and work with the native americans that they could have success in this country after very difficult times and they did so and that's why we are all here today. >> you know, governor, i'm so grateful forever your leadership. all you have done in south dakota. thank you and i appreciate your friendship and have a great thanksgiving with your family. >> well, you tell rachel and the kids happy thanksgiving from the nome family. we miss them and grateful for your friendship. >> and to brian as well. also here tonight is chris rufo senior fellow at the manhattan institutes and mike huckabee former arkansas governor. gentlemen, thank you for joining me. governor huckabee i want to go to you and tell me i love your beard tonight and always love it as you are preparing for christmas. this is what frustrates me the idea of america freedom that we thought about in self-governor man's and free enterprise that we shared with the world more people out of poverty. brought them into the middle class, brought them to self-governance themselves with that freedom. here you have the left bashing the very ideas and founders that came up with those concepts. give it to me. i guess i don't get it. >> let them ito few tomorrow. fine with me. saves more turkey for the rest of us. i really don't care what they think. i love this country. i'm grateful to god for america. i could have been born anywhere on this planet but by his dear grace i was born in this country where i have had freedom. i grew up poor. but i'm not poor anymore. i'm grateful that in this country i didn't have to stop where i started. and that's the greatest thing for which all of us can be thankful. we have the right to speak. we have the right to worship as we please. we can get on our knees and thank god and by the way, we can get on our knees and protest the flag if we want to. we look like idiots doing it to this country. we are free to do it. we are free to be stupid. a lot of people are exercising their freedom to be stupid. by saying that america is an evil, racist country thrill and if it's so horrible. sean, my simple question to them would be this: why is there such a long line of people trying to get into this country, they are willing to break into it and come illegally. there is no line of people who are desperately trying to get out of it. >> yeah, governor, there is no dreamers in mexico. there is no dreamers in cuba or venezuela. no dreamers in america. everyone is trying to get. in and joe biden had open borders and flaunted our law, we would see that no one came if america was a horrible place but it's a great place. that's why we have caravans of people coming unlawfully in our country. chris, i want do go to you. you spent a lot of your time exposing crt. you talked about the 161 project. what impact does this cultural marxism have on history but also on our kids and our culture? >> yeah, well the earab sure or the revisionist history is really a way to control the future. what they're trying to do is trying to fill kids with a sense of hatred and despair about their own country it makes them more pliable for own political goal and redirect them towards actually destroying the country in the present because they feel guilty and ashamed for what happened in the past. we have seen this everywhere. have you seen a public school teachers getting arrested for riots and protests in the city of portland. this process that keeps evolving is to try to simultaneously erase the past while you are demolishing the present. it is destructive. it's girve. but, unfortunately, it's something that is taking root in more and more schools in the united states. >> sean: you know what? that's why it's so important that parents and grandparents and aunts and uncles tell the history. tell what the left is trying to do to history. if you don't educate your kids, someone else is talking to your kids, and they are not telling them the same viewpoint that you have, which is the truth in regard to thanksgiving and toward history. governor, i want to go to you. as we talked about governor, prerequisite for america is that you actually love america?
