"the new york times" characterized this case from the beginning, kyle rittenhouse was a white teenager. the people shot in the case, the racial background never identified. why? why not? what was the agenda from the very beginning? when i am heartened by is that ultimately with the media is saying, but the groups outside the courthouse are saying, none of that matters right now. the only thing that matters is a jury of his peers who get to look at the evidence that was presented meticulously in front of them. the judge controlled that court room. they will decide kyle rittenhouse's fate. let's hope intimidation is not a factor almost 12 inside the jury room. this is the american justice system network. narratives mean nothing compared to what actually happens with those jurors behind close doors. >> emily: kennedy, notwithstanding pete's great point, it didn't stop politicians from jumping in. congresswoman cori bush pleaded "when we marched in ferguson, white supremacists would hide behind a hill where michael brown junior was murdered. they never faced consequences. if kyle rittenhouse gets acquitted a testament that even seven years later, they can still get away with it." your thoughts. >> kennedy: i'm amazed that she is an elected official. all she does is unleash things like this to get attention. they are completely unhelpful. equating to experiences doesn't make them the same even if you try to do so. i will be very curious to see with the jurors say after they are done deliberating and after they deliver a verdict. i will be very curious to see how he felt the trial progressed and unfolded and i'll be curious to see if they feel the prosecution really lost the plot throughout. that seems to be the growing analysis. that they are trying to make an emotional case and ignore the facts. the facts may be the most inconvenient saying that the jury has to face during their deliberations. >> emily: kayleigh, the narrative is spoken by kennedy and pete, that the media had a hand in crafting, there narrative was set a year ago and that narrative was reinforced over and over again by many journalists and media outlets. take a watch of a few of the clips people watched last year. >> rittenhouse is basically what you would've had in a school shooter. crossing straight lines to supposedly protect property? what are they trying to do in this context? kennedy is entirely right. when you apologize you set yourself up to be canceled on us will what will happen here unfortunately. but he's being honest. i don't know these particular cases but whether it's white families or black families, hispanic families, broken families lead to problems and if there are problems we should be honest about that and the feeling it brings the kids in those communities, that conversation is almost completely gone especially on the left, instead replaced by systemic problems. as opposed to treating people like individuals on helping rebuild families which is what kids really need. helps take them out of their crosshairs. it's unfortunate that him being honest will likely lead to his downfall. >> emily: harris can we talk a lot about national conversations, conversations in general, who is sitting at the table and that conversation, whose honest opinion is heard when we try to shove people into boxes collectively as a nation, what happens, which is nothing good because everyone is human and everyone brings to the table something exceptional in their own individual experience, to jason riley's point, he wrote you can't have an honest conversation if you're just sleeping with a broad brush. someone daring to voice their personal opinion. >> harris: the voices we can't hear are those of those little ones today. when you look at chicago and all the little ones who've been caught in gunfire and so much tragedy and violence in that city, i think it's a missed opportunity for mayor lori lightfoot. he's had a lot of stuff or two of these by hypocrisy in the pandemic doing things she shouldn't be doing, telling everyone else not to do them. what a missed opportunity for her to come forth. she could say look, you may see it that way. we have some things -- let's sit down and let's talk. i want to hear your perspective. i want to hear everybody. you talk about the proverbial table. the mayor at this point is to delete text messages, we could be talking about open conversations. does he get canceled? i don't know. i'm not going to predict the future for him. could be a long line of people behind him will feel like they want to say that the facts are that they see and witness and experience. and ends up saying i wish we could fix it. i wish we could fix it too, whenever it is that's broken. whatever it is that took those beautiful lives. i just wish we could fix it. let's not wish let's sit down and talk about it. sometimes it takes an uncomfortable spark to set you ablaze to fix a problem and i don't know why the leadership in that city runs from that. a >> emily: at such a tragedy that the failing and those in leadership and elected positions, the consequence to that are the lives of all of those beautiful children, innocent children. tomorrow fox nation honors american heroes with a third annual awards, the show's host, pete hegseth, will tell us about it next. ray loves vacations. but his diabetes never seemed to take one. everything felt like a 'no'. everything. but then ray went from no to know. with freestyle libre 2, now he knows his glucose levels when he needs to. and... when he wants to. so ray... can be ray. take the mystery out of your glucose levels, and lower your a1c. now you know. try it for free. visit freestylelibre.us veteran homeowners, newday's rates have dropped again. now you know. it's time to refinance. newday's low rate refi offers their lowest rate in history. two and a quarter percent. just 2.48 apr. save thousands every year and there are no upfront costs. not one dollar. the newday low rate refi. take advantage of these record low rates so you and your family can save. is a quizzical >> while tomorros hosting its third annual patriot award stream live at 8:00 p.m. eastern so you can catch it there by going to hollywood, florida, or, you can watch it live streaming. hard rock live theater in hollywood is where the haps will be. happenings for the cool kids. pete hegseth, tell us who's on the bill this year. >> it's an amazing lineup. and let me tell you, we talk politics 364 days out of the year. one night, tomorrow night, it's just patriotism and that's what you will get out the patriot awards. an amazing lineup of everyday heroes who never saw the spotlight. that's what is so cool. celebrities go to hollywood and california and they play heroes on tv, they are just doctors. tomorrow night we highlight the real heroes who never expected to be highlighted. there won't be a dry eye in the place, you will be a swelled with patriotism and at such an honor to host it. it's an event, a lot of fox, and that there are a few tickets left by the way in the silver tear. it we made a few notes more available so foxnation.com/patriot awards. >> have fun at that, "america reports." >> sandra: harris, thank you. fox news alert to kick off "america reports" on a brand-new hour. the jury in kyle rittenhouse is a murder trial beginning deliberation it will determine whether rittenhouse intended to kill two men or acted in self-defense. hello and welcome, i am sandra smith here in new york. >> john: good to be with you here on this tuesday, i'm john roberts in washington. protesters gathering on the steps in the courthouse in kenosha is the city and national guard remain on alert. i kyle rittenhouse
