that is also ruling the day in the political agenda. what kind of policies are being advocated, what ideas are being pushed forward, ask yourselves it is radical, but isn't it winning the day? rachel: it is so interesting, these riots are about people who feel unheard. feel unheard? the people who had no one to defend them in ken nobody that, business owners, homeowners, left to defend themselves because politicians like governor tony evers and very political police chiefs refuse towed put the cops on to squash this or the national guard. those people were left unheard. they were also smeared. if you defended yourself you were called a racist or ostracized. look at kyle rittenhouse on trial for that and also smeared in the public eye. pete: the comments hawk newsom made i think on wednesday were in relation to not a kill, but the idea the new governor would reinstate plainclothes officers. blood will run in the straits, things will burn because we put back a portion of the department very effective. we've seen crime spiking in new york. not threats based on killings. this is the next level. if you even attempt to re-establish community based policing or broken windows policing the city is going to burn. that is how far we've come. will: this is possibly one of those measures he is talking about, burning the city over. carmen best, you remember carmen best who was the former police chief in seattle who resigned in protest over the way the police were handling crime the way the council approached it. carmen best is on a short list to be a police chief in new york city. she was on "justice with judge jeanine" last night. here is what she has to say about social justice. >> i think it is fair to be acknowledge to acknowledge the concerns of racial justice advocacy, and black lives matter, there at the same time, a comprehensive public safety plan. that plan has to include strategies which to bring down increase of violence and shots fired we've seen lately. so i think it is an opportunity to put a structure in place that will help reduce the level of crime they're seeing in the cities. and so i have full confidence that that will be going in new york and really across the nation as agencies come up with strategies to reduce crime. pete: she is talking like the next police chief. we don't like to be new york city centric on the show, but as goes new york often times go other trends. what giuliani did went throughout the country. the showdown between eric adams and activists who he will choose police chief is very telling. the activists in new york are adamant as anywhere else, hawk newsom. many which voted for him, many democrats, many authorities, the chaos under delast yo. he has a big job. will: what you're referencing with giuliani, in the '90s, when we saw crime go down it was broken windows philosophy, enforce the small crimes. that bled out to cities across the country. we'll see what new york does to blm threats and policing. we'll see it bleed out to the rest of the country. president biden will put pen to paper tomorrow signing the one trillion dollar infrastructure bill into law. pete: as house democrats eye a vote on biden's massive 1.7 trillion and growing dollar spending bill. rachel: kind of a socialist spending bill. alexandria hoff joins us live from d.c. as gop senators threaten to withhold support. alex? >> i think you have a couple of different reasons in our area. you've got our governor, jay inslee has come down with a vaccine mandate for all state employees, so that applies to our public school teachers. before the school year even started we had a lot of teachers who either left public schools so they didn't have to get vaccinated or they retired maybe early and then i think, you have also got, you have also got the teachers who really got accustomed to teaching at home, doing the virtual learning and enjoyed sort of the flexibility of being able to travel with the classroom wherever they wanted to. so you know, here in seattle school district we had 600 teachers call out for friday, for personal day. so, that seems like an impossible number of substitutes on even good day. so i think there is kind of a couple of issues at play. rachel: dr. vital, so the school says, well, some of our teachers, or the district says some of our teachers are burnt out, doing zoom classes is exhausting and so they said this is kind of good for their mental health. i want to put up these numbers for you. in seattle there is 53,000 students who will be affected by this. mcp s.1 60,000. so is this just too much emphasis on the teachers not enough of effect on kids? >> one thing we learned last year with virtual learning it was not beneficial for the kids at all. sometimes there are mental outcomes and educational outcombs. it is really not putting the kids first again after a whole year proving that virtual learning or no instruction shun was not beneficial. i'm from baltimore county. so the announcements they did on friday about closure of schools will affect 115,000 children and families that don't have the ability to change their schedules on such a short notice. apart of that the concern about a lot of instruction. we closed for entire year, closed for kids with learning disabilities. for kids with disabilities that had special schools for children as young as five years, as five years old, for an entire year. then they opened up with this hybrid model and just now two months ago, we started having some normal instruction but a lot of education opportunities for a whole entire year. this is not you know -- rachel: you bring up a great point that you know, these closures affect the most vulnerable, those from poor economic backgrounds whose parents who can't find away around when they close schools. also those with special needs when their schedules are disrupted. there is real loss in terms of the progress. julia, i will come back to you. there is also a lot of older teachers who are retiring earlier than they might have. have you had any insight or thought much about why that might be happening? when it started everyone realized it was an emergency. spending needed to be done. here is the break down of the bills passed since march of 2020. first covid response act. that was 192 billion. under president trump. the cares act. 2.2 trillion. paycheck protection program which was almost $500 billion. you're looking $2.9 trillion before the election under the trump administration. after the election, look where the numbers go. it is insane. most of this money is not spent. we just had 900 billion on that for the consolidated appropriations act. rescue plan of 1.9 trillion. you have the infrastructure, so-called infrastructure, you're right, rachel, 1.2 trillion. they want to pass another 2 trillion bucks that will be north of $6 trillion. rachel: unbelievable. pete: not paid for regardless what they want to say at all, most of which has not been spent. rachel: think about all the corruption and griff that will happen with this kind of money. all the friends will get kickbacks because of this money. it is really frightening. will: all the manipulation underneath the covers. let me give you an example. we had vivek ramaswamy on the program, where did the dei stuff, woke ideology come from? >> listen, we already know this is the most expensive tax package in american history. i think anyone who suggests that it costs zero dollars or won't have an impact on every single american's bank accounts or bottom dollar is a fool. we know this will have impacted across the board. we're already set for the most expensive thanksgiving in history. seeing average statistics, average middle-class families expected to take a 30% increase in their taxes. that is on top of the inflation we're experiencing, which on average, if you look at your dollar, every 30 days our dollar is losing 10% of its value. if these levels of inflation are to be sustained. now if you look at the total cost of this, this is projected to be a about a $2.1 trillion tax increase and, we're seeing the final price tag is the equivalent of the gdp of mexico and canada combined. that all falls on us, the working class. and, for the white house to say that this costs zero and they want to move this through without a cbo score, i think that is disingenuous, and harmful to the american people. we already know they don't really care. they will achieve their agenda no matter what. that is what is the most scary thing about this reconciliation bill. rachel: congresswoman, it is insulting to tell the american people that it its free. the only thing free is sunshine and god's love. that is it. people aren't stupid. they also know all this spending, all this printing will cause more inflation and that will hurt them. that is a tax as well. i want to move on to what is happening at our border. we've been talking about it all this morning. it is wide open. the numbers keep proving it. it gets worse and worse every day. the governor of your state has brought to light some of the secret flights that have been coming into florida in the middle of the night. and he says, he is going to send these migrants to delaware. why do you think the flights are coming to florida? >> listen, i've been to the border three times and there is no question about it, we have a crisis on our southwest border. the fact remains, no matter again what the white house says, there is a crisis and every town in america is a border town. i know that for a fact to be true here in my own district. just recently one of those unaccompanied minors turned out to be a 25-year-old man who murdered someone in our community. now when you look at the flights that are going on, the faa refused to give members of congress myself around my colleagues access to the manifest. they're covering this up at the discretion of the administration. and they will not give us information of who is coming in and when they're bringing them in. of course they have to do it in the dead of night because nancy pelosi, you pass things in the dead of night because you don't want the american people to know what is in it. just like this administration is flying people into the communities in dead of night. they don't want us to know who is on the planes. i agree with ron desantis, if they're so really keen on having these undocumented illegals in our community, who have been untested, unvaccinated, i'm not anti-vaccine, i'm anti-mandate, if they want these folks in our communities, start by sending them to san francisco and delaware where the people in charge are the ones making these decisions. it is absolutely a slap in the face to every single american who has done things the right way. they pay their taxes. they are good citizens. then of course we know you can't protect your hometowns if you can't defend the homeland. of course this administration wants to defund police. so they are tying the hands of americans. they are tying the hands of our first-responders and continuing to perpetuate this crisis at the southwest border by encouraging people to come here and we know that. pete: our own elected governors and elected representatives are not allowed to know who is on the flights. rachel: it is insane. isn't that crazy? >> i think we have very low expectations. there is nothing that biden will ask for that xi xinping will deliver and there is nothing that xi xinping will ask for that biden should deliver. the white house is trying to downplay expectations, saying oh, we want to have guardrails for competition. we're not in competition with china, will. of china declared war on us and is doing unrestricted war. if we ask china to stop killing us with coronavirus and fentanyl and stop stealing our intellectual property and all the rest of it, after five decades our foreign policy has been a mistake. i think biden should cancel this virtual summit. nothing good will happen. will: nothing food will happen. olivia, set aside for one moment the goals of the biden administration. help me paint a picture of reality. what would be ideal as we confront the reality of our relationship with china? you heard ford done bring up spying. coronavirus and trade issues what should we at this point look to china and hope to expect from our relationship? >> there are a lot of issues where china and the u.s. are at odds. whether this is over climate change or on trade related issues. but perhaps one of the thorniest issues are those of human rights. today, the chinese communist party is carrying out genocide against its uyghur muslim minority and we witnessed them undermining freedom in hong kong in very, very recent years. given this the biden administration can't leave human rights issues off the table. i think unfortunately what we're hearing rumor has it president xi plans to invite president biden to participate in the 2022 beijing winter olympics. that is an invite he should decline. he should make it clear this is on human rights grounds. will: olympics invitation, dean. maybe what i'm having trouble it, and the relationship is complicated maybe it's a fool's errand is simplify it. one hand invitation to the olympics and on the other hand mocking up a united states aircraft carrier for target practice. can we define the relationship, can we set the terms of the relationship so we can move forward with some honesty. >> that will be very difficult because in part to borrow a phrase it's a very complicated relationship. we have areas where we are directly in opposition, military issues, human rights, et cetera but the reality is that the chinese and american economies are still intertwined. we're both major powers and the media and parts of congress wants to see better, at least, better photo-op opportunities between the two. the reality is that this administration almost certainly will be waving perhaps from the truman balcony of the white house some kind of a climate change agreement saying look, we can cooperate with china regardless what the chinese actually do in terms of human rights but at the same time it will be downplaying as my colleagues have said issues like human rights and issues like the fact that the chinese are openly planning for a conflict involving united states. will: openly planning for -- by the way, gordon, you brought up the phrase unrestricted warfare. planning for a conflict when we're essentially in a conflict right now and the most obvious aspect of that is the coronavirus pandemic. do you think it will come up at all at this meeting? 1980, it's not today. it's also this merger of big government and the private companies that control public discourse in our private sector especially in the online world and we need to wake up to that reality. will: i want to come back to that, but you know this i think it's fair to say something that will probably get me banned from social media but it's an injustice that it even made its way to court. this prosecutor in the first place responding to pressures from social media and political pressures to bring this to trial, so i don't think we cannot order-- underestimate or i don't know if it possible to overestimate the power social media now has not just over our mind and what we are allowed to consume, but what happens in the real world, the justice system. >> absolutely. again, back to one of the topics i talk about, the linkage between action and private companies and the actions of government. what you saw with private companies limiting the bounds of acceptable debate, which affect the politicized view of the topic as to how charged a particular murder trial is or isn't and they made it more charged by effectively censoring views at one end of the political spectrum. what is the prosecutor doing? takes the bait and brings the politicized prosecution i think it's an affront to any american, democrat or republican to have a justice system that brings cases based on the politically charged nature of the situation as opposed to the facts and law. will: went to get to this because i invoked her name a bit earlier. you and i have talked in the past about woke inc. in the way some of the initiatives made their way into public and private institutions in this country through what happens in the financial crisis of 2008. i want to show you something and the audience, look at all of the spending bills we put in place since 2020, since the beginning of the pandemic. that's just in 2020 also 2021, trillions adding up to $6 trillion. have to believe some political agenda, for example, de i type initiatives, woke initiatives can be, will be baked into all of that spending, based upon what you told us about what is happened in the past. >> yet, so the way it works is twofold. there is actually direct now being legislatively codified requirements that require companies to bend their knee. fcc is codifying rules as we speak relating to the listing of companies on the nasdaq, for example, that have to codify basically certain quotas for their board based on race, gender, sexual orientation and so forth so some as direct legislation, but there's the other issue of crony capitalism, what companies used to tithe it to the government prostrate in front of the government like making campaign contributions and now they do it by virtue a single looming instead by effectively pledging allegiance to this new woke religion to be quietly rewarded in return and i personally believe you can't start a new bank in this country is successfully hit a charter without demonstrating that you sufficiently bend the knee to the new neo- progressive woke orthodoxy. it's behind the scenes and that's what i call the confluence of the deep state and the deep corporate world, a deep corporate bureaucracy of a managerial class populated by the same people that populate the ministry of state that are together working together behind the scenes to crush the worth of goods from a grocery store. in san francisco, i suspect this is seen grabbing piles of clothes from a retailer and in new york city a 62-year old man is in critical condition after he was beaten and stabbed by people near times square. and a police exodus could make it worse as a some nypd officers head to florida. joining us now fox news contributor and former gop congressman and my husband-- husband sean duffy and aishah hasnie along with fox news contributor and outnumbered cohost emily compagno. emily, what do you make of all of the stuff we see and by the way we have seen it for a while. i have seen footage of people going into cvs and stealing, that's been all over the internet now releases the pandemic started since the riots started last summer, two years ago. >> that's right and that has contributed in part to the exhaustion of this nation seeing this brazen crime, these horribly violent crimes as well that go unfettered in these largely democratic run at cities. i want to focus on san francisco which is where i'm from and where a lot of these videos are from that you mentioned in the beginning the district attorney there was elected on a criminal justice reform platform. he had never prosecuted a date in his life and he won by nearly 1200 votes. at the time he was verging on the progressive radical, but people gave him a chance and said we do want to invest in criminal justice reform. since he's taken office, there's been an explosion of petty crimes of these violent crimes on the streets. we watched as with impunity a female officer-- it took five men to get a guy off of her after she was attacked. he himself blamed the police for that attack saying if they would do their job than i could do mine. the reality is the pendulum swung too far to the left and this is why his recall is now on the ballot in june. they are framing the recall as a conservative push, anti- criminal justice reform, but the reality is it's not what this is. what we see is the complete devolution of any type of semblance of law and order and where the pendulum should be is in the middle and that's where the trend will go. rachel: a good point. sean, what is the impact on the economy and on the small business owners who, i mean, i just fill out bad for them. >> great point. listen when you blow politicians, woke prosecutors you have these kind of brazen activities. you will just walk into a store and put stuff in your bag and walk out to your car and drive away, you are doing it because you are confident you will get away with it. we are talking about san francisco and new york. this isn't happening in wausau, wisconsin and other communities across the country where we still love our police and enforce our laws, so the problem is that you have politicians and prosecutors is siding with criminals as opposed to victims and the consequence is that these stores will shut down because they can't do business in the communities. then you have shoppers you can go get milk and eggs and groceries down the block in their neighborhood. they have to travel somewhere else to get the goods they need to survive, so this ripple through the economy. in new york it's a tourist based economy often times, but if you aren't safe to walk in times square because you are going to get clobbered in the head or shot, no one will come to the small businesses, all will sever. support victims and put criminals behind bars. rachel: and then those can't get their prescription drugs because the drug store closed it down. governor desantis has said listen if they are not treating you right as a cop in new york city just come on down to sunny florida and he's even giving them a $5000 bonus to do it. >> honestly i don't blame a lot of the police officers who feel like they are getting attacked left and right and look, democrats-- you know crime never plays well for democrats and we saw it earlier this month with the election across the board. we saw progressive ideas and candidates it defeated at the ballot box. we saw in buffalo new york the right in candidate got more votes than the aoc and bernie back progressive candidate in new york city they elected a moderate mayor who did not want to defund the police and in minneapolis we saw voters decide we don't want to disband the police department, so i think that it would suit democrats well to pay attention to what voters are saying at the ballot box because the midterms are coming up fast in this you know a kitchen table topic that's not going away anytime soon a. rachel: it absolutely is. everyone wants to be safe and i can understand the politics around this, but the democrats as shawna said it only helps the criminals appear. >> and i make one quick point, new york >> i will use poultry as an example. chicken wings are about-- they cost about two thirds more than a boneless skinless chicken breast, so really prices are fluctuating on different cuts, but you don't have to buy those cuts. as restaurants reopen all of the center of the plate cuts are really expensive, but there's something great economy cuts especially the flat iron, so this is a new york strip steak. it has a bone in which we call kansas city state, the other is boneless, new york strip and you can get the same flavor profile from a flat iron, which is about 25% of the cost. rachel: that's a good tip. pete: you deal in the private business mean that's the best of the best and as i said earlier all your stuff, local grocery store, phenomenal, but maybe are the prices going up even more in prime and what is the pressure they are? >> with prime usually on average about only 5% of what america produces, that's just the way-- that's just the genetics of a beef, and right now it's a bit lower at three or four, at the other problems and obstacles and it's really driving the really great quality meat to be even higher than choice, so much higher than choice so what choices one grade below is still amazing product, but still it's another great tip is that you don't need prime. you can really get away with serving choice at home, cooking it right, securing it like this, like chef brandon did. rachel: may be serving it over a salad so you-- i know he doesn't like that idea. >> i wouldn't go too far on that. time to linger on infrastructure. fox news has learned that senate majority leader chuck schumer will announce a delay for the senate to consider the larger social spending bill. house democrats are hoping to give the bill another go, perhaps later in the week but all of that he depends on the congressional budget office delivering a score on the economic impact. unlike the infrastructure bill, biden's build back better spending plan will not be able to rely on republican support. >> when you dump trillions of dollars into the economy, what do you think is going to happen? that's not the bbb, it's the bbb bs plan that they've got coming for us. >> reporter: some strong words there. on top of that, at least five republican senators say they will withhold support from any spending bill to fund the government that doesn't include funds to address security issues at the border. they plan to sell a letter to fellow senators, writing the failure to provide sufficient resources is the continuation of the inability and unwillingness to acknowledge the humanitarian and security risks created by open border policies. it also calls out democrats who left the border will funding out of the bills. .rachel: that is breaking news. pete: we have hot off the presses, a poll of americans. first question was do you approve or disapprove of the way biden is -- first is how is biden doing as president? look at that disapproval rating, 53% disapprove at this point, just 10 months in his time in the white house. not a good number, 41 approval rating for joe biden. how does it pertain to the economy specifically, do you approve or disapprove of the way joe biden is handling the economy? 55% negative, just 39% have a positive view. i'm surprised the number is that high. rachel: i was going to say that. i'm surprised it's that high. we just did a segment on meat prices and, you know, inflation is hitting everybody and i tell you, i think those numbers are going to drop as we start to see people paying higher already in heating costs, they're only going to get higher and higher and many of those states by the way are swing states, so the upper midwest, ohio, wisconsin, even michigan, when this winter really hits hard and they're paying 30, 40, 50% more in heating bills, watch those numbers drop even further. will: the take a look at this one, this asks do you support or propose the federal government spending $1 trillion on roads, bridges and other infrastructure, remember how that question was asked, you see 63% opposed, 32%, of course look at how the question is asked. will: that's shorthand of how it was asked when you look at it with more detail. it says do you support or oppose the federal government spending $1 trillion on roads, bridges and other infrastructure. the problem is most of that bill is the the other you human infrastructure. you phrase it as roads or bridges, people like roads or bridges. rachel: it is 5 or 10% that is spent on roads an bridges, the other is on what democrats call human infrastructure, which is socialist spending, down payment on the green new deal and that sort of thing. pete: and one more, how concerned are you about biden doing too much to increase the size and role of government in society? rachel: look at those numbers. 59 -- pete: very concerned, 39. rachel: i'm seeing something on screen. pete: 39 is very concerned. if you add them together with concerned, it's 59%. rachel: that's the figure i was seeing. so very concerned 59%. not very concerned, 38%. pete: that's that same 38%, might be the hard core democrat base that's not going to say anything otherwise. if they were -- when he was sworn in, if they were to look forward to this date, november 14th, you wouldn't want numbers like that. and you would wonder what went wrong, what changed, what happened and then you would look back at decisionses that you made, turns out all of it is a product of a decision that this administration made whether it was on the economy, whether it was on covid, whether it was on the southern border, whether it was on crime, all of -- whether it's on inflation, afghanistan, add all of those things together, there's no more pointing at donald trump. this is the joe biden that he's created. rachel: under donald trump we had the strongest economy we ever had on record, just prior to the pandemic, and my question is whether you think they're looking at these numberses at the white house and they're worried or if as we had stuart varney on earlier, they just want to move forward with their socialist agenda that's more important to them and they'll just let the chips fall where they will and get people addicted to government and hope it works out in the end. will: i think they're worried about these numbers. i think they're going to push forward regardless of these numbers. i think that the silver lining for them will be they will lose he'll earningses but to the -- elections, but to point you made earlier, they'll pay the price to put programs into place the public will have a hard time getting rid of. if you're concerned about the economy and the size of the federal government, you have seen an explosion in spending and you will see the size and the priorities of the federal government baked inside of what we added up earlier was something like $6 trillion in government spending added in one year's time. rachel: i have to go back to that last segment we did with the meat because it strikes me. these are kitchen table issues that i think are hurting the administration and responsible for a lot of the polling numbers are the guy who was running -- pat lafrida was talking about that this may be deliberate, right, they have this agenda that we shouldn't eat meat because meat hurts the environment and their ideological you view and so we should all move to plant based but the rich, the elites who have gotten rich over the course of the last few years, even richer, and income inequality has got pen worse, that those people will probably eat some meat and the rest of us won't. i want to remind people, this is what happened in cuba. in cuba, the elites ate well. fidel castro would have meat flown in from spain, specialty meats and they ate well and lived welt. the elites did. and the rest suffered. this is the path we're on. we're seeing things that i think we never thought we see, that was only for cuba and other countries like that, empty shelves, supply chain problems, can't get your p inventory, rising prices, inflation getting out of control, this is what socialism brings and this is why as we move to our next topic which is the border, this is exactly why the biden administration, their only concern about the border is making sure mexico doesn't let venezuelans in. pete: the other concern, before we get to the border, on infrastructure, they know because so much of it is human infrastructure, not roads and bridges, most people won't see any actual impact in their lives from that infrastructure bill and so if you're running in 2022, there's not much benefit politically from that. they want the headlines of the so-called build back better bill. they need to get their clutches in. they know they're going to lose in '22. how bad have republicans been at removing programs once they've been purchase put in place. rachel: they can't do it -- been put in place. rachel: they can't do it. pete: they're going to darrens to try to stop it and then it's the republicans hate kids who don't get universal pre-k. will: grandma. pete: that is their electoral strategy. a lot of it hinges on manchin and sinema holding strong. rachel: if you were serious about infrastructure you would change and reform the permitting to make the roads and bridges and so forth and democrats said no we're not going to he reform per t mitting. -- permitting. i don't think you're going to see -- even that small percentage, you're not going to see that. pete: now to the topic that rachel alluded to, the border where the rio grande valley border patrol agents have reported encounters of nearly 2,000 migrants in 24 hours. with hundreds getting away, getting past agents, this is while joe biden demand mexico deter venezuelan migrants, 10,000 strong, migrant caravan could leave for the united states this week. you saw it on your screenhere, 1,909 encounters in one day's time with 262 got-aways. pete: do you remember the amount of outyou any we had over bidenville, the overpass and they kept telling us people would be deported, and then over times as information came out we learned that the overwhelming majority of not just families and children, but also men were flown across the country into local communities. that's 2,000 in 24 hours. that's not as high profile as the other instance was. where will those 2,000 go? probably a community near you. you can't count on this administration. they're flown in the middle of the night across the country. i love what ron de santis is saying, we should fly them to delaware if you're going to fly them to florida. i don't know if he has the power. it is unaccountable. the bureaucrats, they're deciding where the illegals go and we have no say. rachel: it's so interesting. you call the haitian encampment bidenville. what if they were venezuelans, i think that would have been cleared really quickly if it had been venezuelans. i think the lack of transparency we have, the biden administration tried to get rid of the drones that were flying over, they didn't want fox news reporting on what we saw and then finally we were able to get those drones and those images brought by bill melugin. ron de santis talking about he's not informed that the flights are coming, they're coming in the middle of the night. they can't get a list of who is on the flights, what are their criminal records, have they been vaccinated. this lack of transparency should tell you everything you need to know. pete: there's the macro issues. there's the micro issues, just imagine if a terrorist got through and a terror attack was executed on this country, we would say how did he or she get there. imagine if a serial killer got through and we had a serial killer we were tracking. and imagine if a murderer got through. we had representative kat cammack on and she talked about many people coming across are criminals, are murderers, we talked about it on the program, committed murders on american soil after coming over illegally. so just think about this. importing people who will kill other people, will kill americans, of course that's not to impugn every person who seeks humanitarian aid or revenue gee -- refugee status. when you look at the number of got-aways, we're talking about trillions today, a number like that looks small, when you look at it in human terms, who are the 262. why didn't they want to be detected? >> that's right. attending school now or i think it's in front of a school because of these mandates. look at this. children who will not go to school and by the way, left and right, there are parents on the left and the right who of don't want their children to take the vaccine for many reasons including the fact there haven't been long-term studies on this. >> i'm a former school teacher. i live in the worst state in the country, california, with the worst governor who has been missing in action. the problem is simply this many you impose mandates on these parents' children and you take away their rights to provide individual medical treatment. parents are in the best position to know if their child needs a vaccine. this school district needs to call dr. nicole saphier and let her tell them that parents should make that individual choice. it's a slippery slope, rachel. they're taking control. there's one school district in california that said we're not going to implement this. parents are losing control in california. we're taking a page from virginia and that particular school district, they're recalling the school board members. rachel: that's what happened. by the way, we found out that the cdc hasn't done any studies on natural immunity. i mean, where did all this money go that we gave to the cdc because of the pandemic when they're not saying the most basic things, natural much talk lately about trying to pressure china, though, for anything. it is really just managing the competition between the two and white house folks are very, very careful not to refer to china as an opponent or as an add veer r- adversary. they save that for the rushes r. china doesn't cooperate with global warming which is something the be president has every cabinet agency addressing, even real quick, how atune is the white house to the polls? how concerned are they? you're right there. >> they claim they don't follow the polls of but at the same time this president likes to defend his plan by saying well, this is what 81 million people voted for last year. but 81 million people according of to that poll, a majority of them don't think that they've gotten what they thought -- what they were sold last year. >> very interesting. rachel: a very good point. >> whether you had an option or not, you grew up in people's televisions, seeing your traditions of the doocy household. people grew up with you and a lot of those traditions are now in rachel's awesome new book, rachel and sean, an all american christmas. peter, what's something we might learn in there? >> you are going to learn about just how -- there's a famous montage at this point that "fox & friends" has run many times of myself and my sisters, mary and sally, running down the stairs to get to the christmas tree on christmas morning. you want to talk about managing a competition, that is the most competitive and here you can see one christmas that i had to work and my parents came to near my hotel in washington, d.c. but it started right there. and you will learn how over the years how truly competitive it was. rachel: it gets more aggressive as the years go on. the race down gets more [laughter] rachel: good point. good point. steve, i love all the traditions that you be put into your family and how he meticulous you and your wife have been about maintaining them and keeping the sense of joy and wonder and awe around christmas. you say in your family you are not allowed to give a gift that is not hand wrapped, there's no gift bags allowed and you have to do a handwritten card. i think that teaches a lot. why do you want to keep that tradition going all these years. >> well, you know, i think early on in my life i realized that when i was getting my card from grandma it was just signed love, grandma. and one year she actually wrote kind of a note and its was -- i learned so much about what she was -- she said things she had never said before and i was like that is something that hallmark cannot really get right because they don't speak completely for grandma and so we have this rule when there's a big birthday, in october i had a big birthday so he peter worked on a poem for me for about a month and it was great and it rhymed and a some of them were tortured rhymes but they were fantastic and they were hilarious and it gets you right there so it's like you can't put it in a gift bag and you've got to write a note and i've got every note from 30 years of the kids, right over there in that box. will: i do the same thing. i have a hard time getting rid of notes from my kids. i wonder, what aim going to do with them, steve? i don't know what -- i ask myself should i keep them forever and what do i do with them. >> there will be a day you read them, i bet. rachel: you can hear about these traditions in the book, except for will and pete's.
