lawrence: the ladies -- rachel: the ladies, that should say all you need to know. lawrence: all said, you had one person, one lady said you won. i'm a little offended -- rachel: a little mexican lady. lawrence: i always had rachel's back. rachel: i so sorry. lawrence: i'm hurt. pete: she is a fair a arbiter. i don't know if there is another contest. lawrence: the trophy is in my office. rachel: for winning over the ladies. lawrence: this is perfect segueing. who doesn't deserve a trophy the biden administration the way they're handling the border, it is clear. migrants coming across the border, whatever issue they may be to come across, they have utter contempt for this country right now. they are just going straight to the border, in a caravan. they essentially assaulted mexican authorities. they created a barrier. this is a much different posture from when you saw the haitian population come across. officially the mexican authorities were telling them, you just can get across. now since these folks are actually mexicans, you see a different posture. these folks are saying, biden administration said they can come across. rachel: it is interesting, the former border patrol chief, rodney fox spoke to fox. i thought caravans were about paying to get across. he said no. these groups help the cartel. >> these massive groups of people are being used by the cartel to create gaping holes in the border. they allow the narcotics, people don't want to be fingerprints to get get into the u.s. this is direct result of this administration's policies. you can't stand on the border with a smirk on your face, the border is closed, we have a plan. we're acting on the plan, make the ban be tear down barriers around the country. if you make it in, let them go. with what would happen if you did that in disneyland and a amusement park. rachel: i love that analogy. reporter: this is from griff jenkins, the mexican forces in guatemala, attempting to stop the caravan. they punch right through initially through the surge. you have upwards of 2,000 people who will probably take others along with, see the caravans grow as they move toward the border. when griff is also going to talk to migrant caravan leaders on his way. one of those leaders is i believe, how do you say it, rachel? rachel: hica. pete: better than i would. one of the leaders of the migrant caravan. he talked about the current administration to another network on twitter. what he said pertains to joe biden. they're in denial of their own fault. they haven't been able to handle immigration. if i tell you the truth i believe at least with donald trump we knew what we had. with biden we don't know. he doesn't. he doesn't seem to have a clue what to do with immigration because he says one thing after another. so the leaders of the caravan,ed into they were running into a with donald trump. is it ambivalent, is it confusion, is it willful, just tearing down what donald trump did. mixed signals say let's to with the border with the caravan. now is a time. rachel: a peculiar statement, honestly if i was in his shoes i would be pretty satisfied with the biden policy regardless what they're saying publicly. it is very obvious from the free flights that you get once you cross our border that send you to wherever you want to go in the united states, courtesy of the u.s. tax dollar. this is the biden administration is absolutely for this. as we spoke about this yesterday, the biden administration is finding new ways to allow them to come, actually legally claiming they are climate refugees, that is something they are working on right now. this ask peculiar that he is saying this. we'll ask griff. hopefully we'll get to talk to him today. who is funding this? a lot of people have biden signs. we've seen many with biden shirts. look at that joe biden for all. lawrence: part of the reason why they're upset, the moment they crossed the border, they're is something new that didn't exist during the trump administration because, we depended on donald trump to do his job. texas didn't have to step up in this way. when they come across the border, they are met by the texas department of public safety. they will be arrested for criminal trespass. if they don't fall under title 42, they will be happened over to border patrol. a lot of folks say, president of the united states saying we can come. now we're being arrested. it is true as you can see, a lot of families there, most won't be deported, even though the biden admin vision will tell you they will. they will be given notice to appear. most will not appear. they will be released into the country. we don't know where they will be, they will be deported. they're frustrated through the legal process, when there is caravan they hold them typically like them under a bridge, like with the haitian population. they cordon them off. they will spend days under encampments, they don't like that. rachel: call it open prison. pete: call it bidenville. left-wing activists will never be satisfied. they want joe biden to declare it wide open and joe biden and administration playing double game. it is closed. reality it is open. left-wing activists want it open in perpetuity. this comes as fiscal year of 2021 the amount of encounters at the southern border reached an all-time high in american history. not to mention the 400,000 plus got-aways. 2.1, 2.3. that is the population of houston, houston. fourth largest state in america. take your pick. phoenix, 1.7. philly, 1.6. almost chicago, 2.6 million people in one year. encounters mostly released of their own recognizance and got-aways which we never had in the first place. lawrence: if you're the biden administration, what do you do. getting hammered in the polls on immigration. republicans coming at you. losing democrats on the border. now you have the person leading the caravan saying you're not winning at all. what group of people do you have supporting you on the border? this is why i say i had it is very dangerous if you don't have a political compass. you try to please everyone. i'm a moderate one day. i'm a progressive one day. i'm open borders one day. now you have no one supporting you. pete: november 2nd coming up, it will be an interesting bellwether to see what support they do have, rachel. rachel: vying for virginia, the democrats are still fighting for control in the state's gubernatorial race. lawrence: democrat terry mcauliffe, recruiting former president barack obama to valley voters as virginia suburbs become a battleground. pete: alex and dry yaw hoff on the campaign trail. reporter: this wasn't supposed to be that close. a republican hasn't won a statewide race in virginia in 12 years. terry mcauliffe who is vying to get back the seat slipped in the polls and tied with republican glenn youngkin. president obama joined mcauliffe for a rally in richmond. he is helping out governor phil murphy in his new jersey race. seems when you have a good speech, stick with it. >> when you have somebody like terry, responsible and serious, he is worth fighting for. so you got to go out there, show the cynics that you're willing to knock on doors for terry. when you have somebody like phil, who is responsible and serious he is worth fighting for. you have to get out there. show the senate you're willing to knock on doors for phil. rachel: while that was happening glenn youngkin was firing on his tour bus. his focus is gaining support from parents. >> what we don't do teach our children to through everything through a lens of race. we don't do this. [cheering] on day one i will ban critical race theory in our schools. [cheers and applause] rachel: dave matthews and stacey abrams will campaign for mcauliffe. biden will do so on tuesday. pete: thank you, alexandria. those two speeches sound the same. we'll watch the 9:00 hour of the show. you hear the same thing. you're right. lawrence: i quite frankly find the speech to be tone deaf. rachel: i agree. lawrence: it doesn't address what is happening in the country today. you got the guy that used to be the former governor that is running walking off of interviews where they're discussing crime in america and education, two of the top issues in virginia. and you think the former president is going to somehow rally those independent voters and those democrats that are upset with the way things are going virginia? he can't save them. he is very charismatic the former president, but he is not speaking to what folks of virginia care about. rachel: interesting you said tone deaf. i grabbed a line out of his speech. things are better because of democrat leadership. that is pretty tone deaf. i guess it means it is an administration, it is trouble bringing out barack obama, pete? pete: i think so. it is much closer than they thought. this is a base strategy. this is not an independent strategy. they are bringing in people they believe, history recently in virginia has shown it is a purple to blue state. they believe they need to get their base out, especially in the d.c. metro area. so you bring in the big hitters to galvanize turnout, especially early voting. rachel: the problem is there are some constituencies tended to vote democrat. many of them hispanic by the way in begin i can't, who do not want their kids to be indoctrinated with socialism or this -- pete: that is what we'll find out. is this issue powerful enough, does it resonate enough for people to cross party lines and vote a different way. i don't know, we'll see. lawrence: i think you're right, pete. now it is a dead-heat. election day matters. what comes from this, if virginia is the battleground for sure and youngkin wins, i think there will be a different strategy from democrat all across the country. pete: obama was in new jersey. i wish new jersey was in play. lawrence: not a chance. pete: i really do. not much of a chance there. pretty strong candidate for republicans, vise grip on new jersey is strong for democrats. we'll turn to a few additional headlines as well. two children are dead and a eight people are hurt when a car crashes into spectators during a drag racing event in texas. he drived off a makeshift track in austin, killing a 6 and 8-year-old boy. two victims remain in critical condition. the driver of the crash is expected to be okay. it is unclear what caused him to leave the track. the director of rust speaking out when he was injured by a gun fired during the movie. halleen hutchins was killed during the shooting. it comes as alec baldwin family packing up from the new mexico movie set. the actor set to be in distress following the tragic accident. hutch ins' husband telling fox news he was very supportive. the atlanta braves clinches a world series birth taking game six over the l.a. dodgers. >> to right, it is gone! he got it, to his feet, throw to first. there it is. the atlanta braves are going to the world series. pete: atlanta winning 4-2 behind the eddie rosario former minnesota twin. what minnesota does best, we outsource our best players to other teams to make championship runs. it comes months after this, major league baseball pulled the all-star fame from atlanta over georgia's voting law. can't do that when they're in the world series. playing there, no matter what. game one in houston. lawrence: got the astros and the braves. got a lot of hate mail yesterday for my comments on the astros. i want to apologize to the people of texas. i let you down yesterday by bashing them. pete: that is really quick cave, lawrence. lawrence: you know, only to texans i apologize. pete: susceptible to the texas twitter mob. rachel: you are going to get so much mail. pete: houston was with you from the beginning. lawrence: still not rooting for them. apologize for bashing them on national tv. pete: i would like to bash dallas, we may the dallas cowboys with the mine sit vick kings. lawrence: you're most pro-american. pete: made up america's team. that is made up. rachel: dallas cowboy's cheerleaders, america's cheerleaders? lawrence: 100%. rachel: that applies to the team apply a new rule. lawrence: you see she gets me. rachel: falling poll numbers to multiple crises facing the nation, president biden may be wishing he could go back to the good ol' days when he was vice president. >> i don't understand. people used to like me. the press would call me uncle joe. >> where the hell did that come from? hey. rachel: now he gets let's go brandon. that the biden administration is freaking outlined this thing. rachel: here is couple things i thought about. they could have a lot more fun with jen psaki. jen psaki asking reporters now. weird stuff inside of the press room. you know, you're right, about that this, everyone can see what is going on with joe biden. the thing is that makes me a little peeved about this, we saw this a long time ago. as you guys know, i was in crossfires of the jill biden's, first lady's office for suggesting that she had to have known that he was in decline. we saw it during the campaign. i frankly thought it wasn't very kind of her to let him go, put himself through. this this is embarrassing. that clip in the town hall. where he is clenching his fist like this. it is not funny. it is very sad. it is very sad that those around him who should love him have not protected him from this very apparent decline and he is now, by a network that loves him, being mocked. pete: they're attempting to still, attempted through the campaign do the basement strategy, attempted with very minimal engagement. attempting to with a mocked up white house next to the white house where there is a big -- they're very aware, trying to accommodate him as such. obvious nbc is talking about it. you mentioned this whole thing. i imagine he thought the question would be five seconds long, it was 45. 15 seconds in, the internet made memes that, of him blasting off as a rocket ship and bunch of other things. we joke about it but it is not funny ultimately. and nbc is on to it because america is. if you want to produce a television show people want to watch, there is endless material if they're willing to. lawrence: i just think it is really dangerous to have a president of the united states with training wheels on. the administration continues to focus on the image and instead of the substance of the presidency. they continue to find ways to isolate him, to make him look like he is prepared for the job but when you see these interviews, when you see him one-on-one with, we see him at press briefings when he decides to take questions from the press, he is just not prepared for the job. he can't of thousands of people across the american economy are going to lose their jobs weeks before christmas. in our industry where we're at the center of the supply chain to keep things moving, the busiest biden may be the grinch that stole christmas. lawrence: what are you guys going to do to kind of fix this? >> we're asking for the administration to delay the implementation of the mandate. to give us time to put it together but also to include a testing option for those who don't want to be vaccinated. this is something that we have been working on tirelessly is we've been trying to help vaccinate all of our employees across the industry. we brought nurses in to our warehouses and facilities. we offered bonuses and gift cards. i had one company offer a free trips to vegas if people would get vaccinated. we done everything they can and they're telling us the government stricting them to get vaccinated just means they are willing to lose their job and so we think that, that is why this crisis is coming to a head. we believe in the vaccine. we think that is important but at the same time we know that if this moves forward without being amended it will exacerbate the supply chain crisis we're already seeing. lawrence: eric, we've seen the administration take advice from union leaders, other special interests group, i'm curious, when they decide to make this push for a mandate, did you guys have a seat at the table? >> we share the president's goal of helping to vaccinate americans. we think this is important. we want to save lives, we want to get the country back on track and the economy back on track and so we share the goal but we just think that this goal and the supply chain goal keeping it moving are in conflict at this moment, that is why the mandate we're calling for an amendment. lawrence: yeah. i think a lot of people support getting americans back healthy and getting back to work but seems like the administration is not taking the advice of you guys department reportedly telling congressional staff earlier this week they're in touch with more than 300, 363 u.s. citizens in the country and nearly 200 of those who want out immediately. americans you. you know this issue back to front. were they misrepresenting those numbers then and being honest now? what is the state of play as it pertains to americans who want out of afghanistan? >> pete, seems like the needle keeps moving all over the place but i do think across the board if we're going to go after this private public partnership as general milley advocated time and time again i agree with there will have to be i think more transparency what we've got right now. if it is more than what we thought, okay, it is more than what we thought what are we doing about it? the gates were open in those initial days as veterans groups tried to help the groups they were with, some sivs got through. that is something we've got to deal with now. we have to start being transparent about it. pete: what are the efforts underway you can disclose for those americans? if they're there, they want out, the taliban tightening its grip. we're hearing all the reports of brutality there. what is happening right now? >> don't forget that winter is coming. inters in afghanistan are about as sporty as you can get. that the state department and americans and legal permanent residents as their priority. winter comes very fast. that will be extremely hard to do with the taliban controlling that country. the other thing, pete, we have tens of thousands qualified afghan commandoes and afghan special forces literally on the run being hunted every day. there is no talk at all anymore. pete: a lot of siv partners, and afghan commandoes, on the run, grateful for groups like you, promised not to leave anyone behind and working on it siv holders, people who applied for special up my grant visas worked for us. many who didn't have the qualification were getting into the united states. we have more evidence. a quote from a wisconsin state senator. we're talking about fort mccoy where 10,000 afghans are there right now. he got a briefing from the general there. this is one of his takeaways. one of the biggest take awais for me, the vast majority of folks coming into the fort mccoy are not the sivs. other individuals at risk, in some cases had no documentation at all. scott, part of your organization is to follow through too when afghans come to the united states. what do you do when you have afghans who are not, don't have documentation, didn't work with americans and now they're in wisconsin, a world away, what do you do? >> well first of all it gets back to what you were talking about earlier, pete. there will have to be better collaboration between, for example, the government dhs, our citizen liaison networks because we can help with this community integration piece but some of these folks that came over, are military, probably couldn't carry documentation into the airfield or they would have been executed. by a technicality, afghan commanders, afghan aviators in the air force are not eligible for a special immigration visa where a barber on bagram. that is what we're trying to get changed. there are people on the bases military, but very qualified for the conditions of an siv because of a technicality, they're not there yet. we'll have to help with that i think the american people really need to be mobilized on this instead of kept in the dark. pete: that is what is happening effectively now. on military bases you can't see with your own eyes. i had a chance on fort dix because i have a military i.d. feels like it will be a very long time. >> this will be a long game, pete. we'll need to help the folks through the winter there. we issue facing voters, especially hispanic voters right now? >> oh, absolutely, the economy is definitely a big issue. always been that. remember it's the economy stupid. particularly in the latino community if you look what is happening right now. inflation really incredible. i just got here from california, in san francisco, talking $8 a gallon for premium gas. talking about the supply chain being disrupted. inflation that will really going to soar. you have all the mandates causing all kinds of havoc, especially in the latino business community where a lot of businesses are being shut down because of these mandates. so yes, the economy is really important. always has been for the latino community. particularly now. definitely in virginia. let me make clarification. i live in maryland. i work in the tri-state area. i always work in virginia. we have a great chapter in virginia, unbelievably getting the latino vote out there, enthusiastically making it happen. rachel: one of the things really interesting about the pandemic, i think before the pandemic and this, the school board meetings that we've been seeing over the last few months, i don't think a lot of hispanics knew that crt and gender ideology was being taught in school. how do hispanics feel about that? also about socialism being normalized for some of our students? >> rachel that is a super question because that is one of the highest priorities right now. it always has been. you and i are latinos. you and i are parents. the most important part of our life is our children. the education of our children. we sacrifice everything for our children's well being and education so they can have more than we've had and have that american dream. it is huge in the latino community. particularly the fact that the public school system is failing our community, failing all communities. on top of that you have the opportunity with school vouchers. menendez ruling allows state funding of vouchers show parents can send their kids to religious schools or catholic schools. rachel: school choice is very big. terry mcauliffe is against that. >> oh, big time. terry mcauliffe when he came out and said parents have no say in their childrens education, that goes to show you what the democratic party is really all aabout. it is control. rachel: yeah. >> they're taking away the most great teacher of children which is the parents. you and i? we teach them from the beginning. you guys are saying we don't have any input trying to label us as domestic terrorists? rachel: i think he perhaps made a lot of news to cover, you guys, because the national school board association's directors are finally apologizing for colluding with the white house, they're not apologizing for that, but they say they, quote, regret, apologize for that letter that they wrote. they said there was no justification for some of the language in the letter. we should have had a better process in the place to allow for consultation on a communication of this significance. we apologize for the strain and stress this situation caused you and your organizations that was an apology to their members for not running it by them, that they were going to work with the white house and basically characterize the parents who are really upset about gender ideology and critical race theory being taught in schools now that's right. we're sorry that we didn't consult with you when we wrote this letter and we characterized those parents as domestic terrorists. pete: that is true. can we show the wall. i don't like to apologize our own mistakes. they were not apologizing to parents. they were apologizing to the members. they should apologize straight up up to the terrorists they characterized as domestic parents. the white house said we need more evidence of actual incidents, please. instead of providing evidence, there have been raucous school board meetings. the attorney general turns around issues a memorandum effectively pointing the justice department, the fbi, straight at parent critical of critical race teary. rachel: this is what i believe, the biden administration got panicked, all the parents, all the momentum, i believe they reached out to friendly members of the national school board. pete: how it happens. rachel: get a letter over to the doj. they wanted to essentially by using the word domestic terrorism, they wanted to chill speech. they wanted to put fear into these parents that you see here, make them afraid of standing up for their kids. i think, again i talked about this with my previous guests. i don't think prior to the pandemic parent understood how much gender ideology, crt, even marxism and socialism through the blm curriculum was being introduced an indoctrinating our kids. this was the reaction. they know it is unpopular. the only way to stop it is scare the parents. lawrence: the thing wasn't just a letter. it is the fact they coordinated with the department of justice and the fact is that the biden administration said they wouldn't have political affairs in the department of justice. the guy who is the attorney general, merrick garland, who was almost on the supreme court should know better. i'm so glad he didn't get that seat. josh hawley had a words in a tweet. merrick garland mobilized the fbi against parents without a legal basis and premised on misinformation. he didn't bother to verify. it was a dangerous abuse of authority that has badly compromised the justice department's integrity and garland should resign because of this. when there were hearing this week about some of the examples, meaning the guy, the dad that daughter was sexually assaulted in the bathroom, he didn't even know about it. he got political and didn't even look at some of the incidents he decided for man right fully upset because his daughter was raped in a bathroom. pete: the school board in that district underfire they had alerted school board members it happened and denied a month later. rachel: they lied. pete: they lied about it. the white house works with outside group, always do, pull in outside group with credibility, to justify it. you produce a letter. then the justice department puts a letter out. when merrick garland is asked to testify. he is asked where did you get the information from, he says the letter. it all comes full circle. they want to create the mischaracterization they believe is effective for them to shut down people they don't want to listen to. whether or not he will resign, he won't resign. they don't take accountability for anything. that won't happen. the spotlight is being shown. another one holding them to account is jim jordan. he was on justice last night talking about the attorney general. here is what he had to say. >> i think this will be a catalyst, reawakening and focus on freedom in this country. you're seeing it play out. the school board association says we regret we sent this letter. they apologized the to. they are supposed to hearing from them and they thought, wait a minute we better back down from. this this is i think a good sign to see they're apologizing for this letter. let's see what the attorney general does. i hope he will say, look, we were wrong. we'll have to wait and see. rachel: pete on january 6th, the biden administration and the doj characterized the people who entered the capitol as domestic terrorists. most people said nothing. in this case they characterizedd parents as domestic terrorists, this time parents fought back. their legislators and their representatives in congress fought back. dan bongino was on with us yesterday, hey, america, take a victory lap on this. this is a sign that our system works. we complained about it. got our reps involved. now merrick garland is embarrassed at least the national school board has had to retract their statement. pete: it's a small victory. who do you think runs the national school board association? think a bunch of conservative republicans run that association? of course not. it is run by the unions, run by the left just like all the other prerogatives. it's a small victory but won't change the educational industrial complex which is run by marxists, leftist progressives. you can protest at school board meetings. i'm glad you do. glad to see results when people resign. should happen in loudon county it will not change the system our kids are being educated. small victories are good but not the larger war. lawrence: i have to say when you look at the what the department of justice cited like the patriot act, we really as conservatives, libertarians, as americans, really need to start looking at the patriot act. i mean i understand why we have it but our civil liberties are being violated on a day-to-day basis based on this document and i have a real problem with it as a civil libertarian. rachel: absolutely. pete: there was another interview this morning. did you do it, lawrence? with eric cap lynn. the national association. we talked about wholesalers and distributors and the restrictions, complications they're facing with our supply chain right now. talking about containers floating in the ocean. ships off of docks. can't get unloaded. is it covid? is it union per regulartives. what are the reasons our supply chain is held up. one of the things he is pointing to as head of the association is the vaccine mandates. you already have a work shortage. what about otherwise people healthy are deciding not to take the vaccine. eric hoplin i'm afraid if the president doesn't amend the executive order, joe biden may be the grinch that stole christmas. rachel: people like that in charge of associations, like the wholesalers, they hate saying anything against the administration. how bad must it be that he come out and said, joe biden you may be the grinch that stole christmas. it has to be bad because they loathe putting saying anything to the administration. lawrence: even still, he was so measured. one of the follow-ups i had with him was, we brought you a whole story about the department of justice working with the national school boards, how they coordinated all that i asked him, did the white house bring you guys to the table when they decided to issue these mandates? he said essentially, look we want to get people vaccinated but again he didn't answer the question which means the biden administration did not bring them to the table to discuss these things. they only bring special interests when they want to limit freedom. they never bring the people that are hard-working men and women that put food on the table, to the table and this is why we have this crisis right now. pete: they bring in people that will reinforce answers we want. which is not actually leadership. leadership is let me hear challenges you're facing. balance and weigh those. rachel: one of the first things that happened during the pandemic, this happened when trump was in office, the business community wanted to not have liability in cases of covid, right? pete: i remember that. rachel: and the, the forces against that won in that case and those were democrats fighting against releasing the business community from liability from covid. and that is why i think that was the beginning of starting to see businesses really take the brunt of so much that happened in this pandemic when we should been making it easier for businesses and this mandate again, as head of the wholesalers is telling us, the mandates for vaccine is just like, it is the nail on the coffin. pete: you're saying because of that that is why more companies are preemptively pushing the mandate because they're worried about the lit tinning -- litigi. rachel: of course. pete: you have to provide a testing option. lawrence: same thing we do at fox. there is a testing option t doesn't work. you make such an excellent point, rachel about the former president. for all his faults where people want to nick him he had a track record of bringing people to the table and hosting those roundtables especially with the business community. he didn't do it behind closed doors. he invited cameras in to have those conversations and you look at this white house right now, everything is done behind closed doors and normally hurting the business community. rachel: yeah. they're afraid of the administration. pete: it is true. you're looking at the most privileged couch in america according to unc chapel hill. i think you're all right-handed right? lawrence: i am. pete: you guys are so brave privileged. i do swing a golf club and baseball bat left-handed. my dad taught me that he thought i would have an advantage. maybe i was all that privileged. according to unc chapel hill, a activist fav a lecture to the fraternities and authorities about right handed privilege. this is a real briefing. that is a real photo. these are the real forms of privilege that were discussed very importantly. it is easier. here is the privilege you have. makes life easier. gives you sense of belonging. have you been we're all right-handed, oh, man. people have more advantage is reverse racism. so now what should happen to those of us that are right handed that have enjoyed for decades for this kind of advantage over our left-handed minorities. it just doesn't sound right, doctor. >> first of all it is racial discrimination and many of these women were older white woman, so it is probably age discrimination. but since they're volunteers and it is a private organization i don't know they have a civil rights recourse but when you think about it, the actions mean that they have fired key members of their donor base. they have fired people that had years of experience, knowledge enthusiasm about art and these people will be replaced probably by paid workers who would not have the same level of knowledge and enthusiasm. so the left, they're so foolish. i mean equity means equal outcomes regardless of interest. when it comes to volunteers, people volunteer where they want to volunteer and they are volunteers in the black community as well as other minority communities. if they wanted to work at the art institute i'm sure no one prevented them. lawrence: doctor, only got a little bit of time left. i guess my big concern, we're going back in time. is this -- >> yes we are. lawrence: is this a game we're playing right here? >> no, no, but what i can say is that obviously people who want to make this very dangerous journey, they do pay the cartels to facilitate the trafficking of them so they can actually get to the our southern border and what i can say is that you know, this is very organized because they do this on a daily basis. this is their everyday jobs the human trafficking organizations and drug cartels because we see thousands of people but they see millions of dollars. really they're the only winners in all of this, in terms of the money that they make. that is something that is very unfortunate because the reason why they're willing to form such large caravans, they're trying to get into the united states while biden is still in office because of the policies he has been pushing. rachel: it is interesting. there was the quote of lear of this caravan, he said, i actually appreciate, i'm paraphrasing, i actually appreciate the clarity of the former administration, the trump administration. i don't like the mixed signals coming from biden. what do you make of that? >> so the mixed signals have come from the fact that he campaigned on stopping deportations for 100 days. he has repealed or halted the border wall construction, stopping title 42 for minors and remain in mexico policy. because they had changed in course because the court ordered biden administration to reimplement remain in mexico. the other people are trying to get into the united states. they will get in because remain in mexico is taken into effect in november. there are things they have to work with mexico to fully reimplement it. that is a little bit of mixed signal they're getting. but at the end of the day, the reason i said before, the reason they're taking enormous risk and pay a lot of money to the cartels, mostly the biden administration has opened the border. rachel: yeah. they haven't been shy about when interviewed, many of these migrants still say, a, i'm doing this because biden says i will get in and b, i they said i wouldn't have tried this under the lasted a administration. they seem to understand the signals coming from the administration. i want to ask you about another topic. dhs has been revealed paid $455,000 to build a security fence around president biden's beach home. what do you make of this, especially in light of the millions of dollars that we see of rusted fencing that could have been our southern border and many jobs that were lost, infrastructure jobs that were lost because biden said we'll stop building the wall? [laughter] you can get anything. happy birthday. rachel: thank you. that's very nice. well, there's something else happening in hurricane besides hunter's artwork, and that is the border crisis. in the last hour, i spoke with somebody who has been on the ground for a long time, knows everything going on, he is a great reporter from town hall, julio rosas. we don't have the sound from him they're telling me in my ear. anyway, let's talk about it because he is covering the migrant crises -- pete: has been from the beginning. rachel: he's been covering it for a long time, but now he's covering this latest. are we surprised it came so soon after the haitian 16,000 -- lawrence: they were told these folks were going to come. we played earlier them storming the mexican authorities. they're showing how much respect they have for this country. they don't respect law and order. i understand they have their reasons for coming, but they're breaking laws, breaking american laws, and it shows you how this crisis is totally out of control. julio rosas was on, i think we have that sound now. rachel: we finally got it. >> this is very organized because they do this on a daily basis. this is their everyday drive, human trafficking and drug cartel, because we see thousands of people, but they see millions of dollars. the reason why they're willing to form such these large caravans is was they're trying to get into the united states while biden is still in office because of the policies that he's been pushing. at the beginning of all of this, they were able to place agents at the gaps along the border wall, but because there's so many people coming in on a daily basis and it's gotten worse since march, border patrol can't even afford to place a single agent at these gaps in the border wall. so, you know, the president -- rachel: that's so interesting to me, pete, because i always thought the people in the caravan didn't want to pay the cartels to get across, that they were deciding to go around in groups. julio rosas as well as rodney scott who's the former border patrol chief said that, no, the cartels work in conjunction with these caravans as do other ngos, by the way. but this helps them, you know, this big mass of people comes, our border patrol comes, and then there's a big, massive gap for drugs and and other things. pete: actually a very effective diversion of resources and energy, and they move the valuable stuff. human trafficking's valuable for them. there's a price on every held. whether it's drugs or whatever else they move across the border, they use it to do that. and part of what we've seen because of reporting from the new york post and fox news.com is they're sutting these illegals -- shuttling these illegals across the country once they get here. it's not just a border crisis, not just a texas crisis, it's an american crisis, and every state has to deal with it. lawrence: i'm sorry to interrupt -- pete: oh, please. lawrence: you just touch on something many people gloss over. you combine the human trafficking, the drugs that are coming across and the cartels with the humans pay to come across the border, for some reason democrats feel like they can just separate the issue. this is all a part of the criminal enterprise, right? you don't cross the border without paying the cartel. the cartel uses these people to figure out the routes that they can take the drugs that come across. and by the way, the border patrol, they're no longer doing the pursuit. they don't do chases. a lot of those drugs enter into the country. that's why the dea is saying 40% of the drugs that our kids and people, our loved ones are taking are laced with fentanyl. rachel: that's right. and, by the way, our border czar, vice president kamala harris, said she was going to get to the root causes of this crisis and, you know, every day that we continue to enrich the cartels by the millions of dollars daily, they become more and more powerful, and they become a bigger root cause of why people want to leave the violence and the dysfunction and the narco-states for which of these people come from. so, you know, the bind administration says we're -- biden administration says we're addressing root causes. no, you're not. you're whatser baiting root causes -- whatser baiting. and by the way, kamala harris is on her way to france. president9 president they did help us in the revolutionary war -- rachel: she's on it. [laughter] pete: we're going to talk to west virginia governor jim justice. governor, thank you so much for being with us this morning. we're going to touch on a couple topics with you, you were one of 26 republican governors who warned joe biden last month that the border crisis is impacting every state. did you ever get an answer to that letter? have you seen anything change? >> no, i have never gotten an answer to the letter, and it's impacting all the statements. i mean, you know -- statements. you know, west virginia we've got all kinds of issues with crime. it's coming from this. it's affecting everybody across this nation, and it's a disaster. we all knew that. let me say this before i go any further. i thought, pete, i said, my goodness gracious, surely to god above you're not giving rachel, you know, a complainted birthday -- belated birthday president a portrait of hunter biden. [laughter] i said, oh, my god. no, please. pete: that would be too much, governor. rachel: no. i got the spitball version. [laughter] lawrence: governor, talk about how the drugs are impacting your state. i know the fentanyl deaths -- it's hitting all the states in the country. we know the cops that are searching these folk are getting just a whiff of it, and they're dropping like a rock. talk about that. >> well, to be perfectly honest, you know, what we've seen is we have seen an immediate uptick from the standpoint of deaths coming from discussion, and we have -- it is a direct correlation with what is happening at the border. now, just imagine how far we are from the border, and a lot of people would think, well, we're protected and everything. but we have seen an immediate, an immediate uptick. we all know what's going on. i mean, there's drugs coming across this border like crazy and everything, and they're killing our people. and why in the world we're doing this, i could never know. rachel: governor, one of the reasons people turn to drugs is hopelessness, and one of the ways to make people feel more hopeful about life is giving them a job, the dignity that comes with a job. and we see thousand with the biden administration -- now with the biden administration these vaccine mandates are actually making it harder for people to get back to work or actually causing people who do have a job to want to leave their job. you're proposing a bill to require exemptions for the vaccine mandate. tell us about what's going on in west virginia. >> well, not only did i propose the bill, but we passed the bill. and so, you know, effective january 1 that's not going to be permitted in west virginia without the exemptions for medical and religious. and so, you know, i think our employers are are backing away from that, and i'm all for it. just like i'm sure you guys are. i'm all for everyone getting vaccinated and everything, but i'm not for doing away with our freedoms. for crying out loud, the very foundation of this country. and so there are people that believe certain things, and we should be respectful of that, and we should be absolutely neighbors loving neighbors. we should not be mandating things on one another. this country's never been that way, and we should never go that way. lawrence: so, governor, i'm so sorry, what is the consequence though when businesses don't follow that executive order? we see a lot of republican governors doing this, but respectfully, does it have enough teeth to hold those businesses accountable when they impede those rights? >> well, i don't think, i don't think we've gotten to that, you know, at this point in time this west virginia, but i don't think you'll see that. i really do not think you'll see that at all in west virginia. we have held together in west virginia and led the nation in this pandemic in a lot of ways, and to the only way we've done is it we all held together and pulled the hope together. we hit a record history of all time in west virginia unemployment rate the other day at 3.2%. it's amazing what's going on, a lot of good stuff. pete: all right, governor. there's maybe something else big happening in west virginia. we've got to get your take on this because three republican counties in western maryland want to leave maryland and become a part of west virginia. now, we'll see how that process plays out, but they're the westernmost counties of maryland. there they are right now, garrett county, allegheny county and washington county. would west virginia welcome them? >> absolutely. absolutely, hands down. west virginia will welcome any and all. but with all of that and everything, we all know that this is a difficult, uphill, you know, upstream climb, you know, for these people or swim, you know? but nevertheless, these people are unhappy. these people want to leave. why wouldn't you want to come to west virginia? i mean, lead the nation in -- [inaudible conversations] rachel: i'm curious, what's the process? what do these counties need too old? you said it's an uphill battle, what do they have to do? >> well, i think what has to happen, and it's a process where west virginia accepts, maryland agrees to let go, then the federal government agrees that that's okay, then they can come. and then there'll be a price tag where west virginia will have to pay some level of restitution to maryland over a prolonged period of time, but there there is geny a pathway. a long time ago west virginia was part of virginia, is and it migrated the way it migrated and everything. there is a pathaway -- pathway here. it's an upstream swim, that's for sure, but nevertheless -- lawrence: governor, what are the chances of maryland doing that though, releasing these counties? >> yeah. it actually is a little bit, little bit tougher on mcauliffe, and i think as we all know when former president obama shows up for your campaign, you know, things aren't going well. you need a big boost. it looks neck and neck, but really the interesting thing is when you start to dig into the undecided which, interestingly, are really breaking towards the republican challenger here. and it's interesting to note that often this virginia guber thattorial campaigns -- gubernatorial break towards -- mcauliffe initially had a solid lead, but that's vanishing. keep in mind also there is a third party candidate here. now, when that candidate is included in polls which are not in the current poll, but in the past when that candidate's been included, that tears off a little bit more of mcauliffe's lead, and things start to break even more towards the republican. pete: real quick follow-up because voter enthusiasm shows republicans almost doubling up democrats, fired up. base election, if republicans are more enthusiastic, could that make the difference? >> yeah, it could. i mean, it's important to note that this is a different kind of election, say california where there was a special election and enthusiasm kind of gave a false positive. turned out democrats weren't enthusiastic about voting, but they were going to vote because they were angry n. a typical election like this we would expect that to build up turnout, and in this case republicans have a clear advantage. pete: this new jersey if you look at democrat phil murphy who famously said the bill of rights is above his pay grade and the republican challenger ciattarelli, he's got a stable lead. but if you -- substantial lead. but if you look at the undecided voters cutting 59-41, are there enough undecided in the state of new jersey? your daughter is nonverbal. what has the school told you about the mask? >> okay. so when i actually found out that it happened which was the 7th of october when she stepped off the bus, she stepped off the the bus with the mask and tied on. i these to quickly say sophia has an iep-504, and that is an individual care plan that she has in school so that anything that changes, she gets physical therapy, occupational therapy, she has an educational psychologist, etc. is so anything that changes, it needs to be approved with the9 consent by the parents, so there has to be a meeting with the teacher and the team of whatever's going to be changed. rachel: right. >> that heating never -- that meeting never happened. so when i met with the school teacher on the 12th of october, with a service officer, police officers at the school, i was asking about the mask and asked why we weren't informed, why they felt it was okay and safe to tie that on a nonverbal child with an iep with a disability, and sophia has an enlarged tongue as a result of her downs syndrome as well. she's a mouth breather, not a nose breather. rachel: exactly. i was going to say, jeffrey, that's why it's so important that you should have been called, is that it is actually dangerous. there's a real medical reason why your daughter shouldn't wear a maas, let alone one that is put on so tightly. she could have been as fix quainted. so hold on one second -- >> [inaudible] rachel: go ahead. go ahead. >> when she stepped off the bus, my wife found her with a mask that was saturated with hrsa live v.a -- her saw saliva. she could have seizured, anything could have happened. rachel: absolutely. >> so it was quite a shock when the schoolteacher -- and there was a police officer with me, actually, and i just said are you telling me this has been happening more than just this one time? >> well, you know, i had a lot of time to think last year and watch what was going on. and it occurred to me that 2020 was just unlike any other year in american history and, actually, the history of the whole western world. you had this virus that entered our country and spread so quickly that nobody could understand how it was moving so quickly, how it was hurting so many people, killing so many people, and where it came from. there's a lot of controversy about it, and the truth is it started in wuhan, china. there's no doubt about that. and we keep trying not upset the chinese by saying that. somebody told us to call it covid, and everybody, okay, fine, we'll call it covid. the other things were the social unrest that swept the streets of the cities of our country. and, you know, social protest is one thing, there's nothing wrong with that. it has to be legal, it has to be peaceful, and when it starts to be a situation where stores are getting looted and police cars are getting burned, that's no longer social protest. and the last factor was the presidential elections. it was kind of a loony tunes election. the campaign, the election itself and then the questions about its legitimacy afterwards. so i tried to put all those three strands together and turn it into a book. i had to use fiction because i couldn't report it to the standards that i wanted to report it to because the chinese wouldn't cooperate, but i think everybody will get the message. this is a book that's written for fox news viewers. lawrence: wow. it's funny how you had to make it 2006al for them to prove it -- fictional. i want to read a part of that book. you say in the book it doesn't matter what that person saw with his own eyes or heard with his own ears, it is what the party tells him he saw or heard that is the truth. anything else is worthless. this is actually the secret of china's recent success. what did you mean by that? >> it was pretty quick, as soon as the driver of the boat spotted him, he immediately turned around, and within probably 10 seconds phil was already in the water swimming over to him, so it was pretty quick. rachel: i'm going to ask the question which is how could the owners of this dog have left the area? what happened? i know that a, you know, they thought they had lost the dog, but i can't imagine leafing the area. leaving the area. >> right. by the time they had noticed, even if it was a minute or two, with the current conditions and the ocean waves and him swimming, he's really small, it would have been really, really hard to find him. so they had gone back and searched up and down, but with how small he is and in that water -- rachel: okay. thanks for clearing that up. we were all very concerned about the owners. >> noing they were absolutely upset. lawrence: brynn, i'm just curious, did you all have to do, like, a double take or did you know immediately there was a dog in there strug signaling. >> oh, no, a friend of mine -- i didn't notice immediately, but she thought we went back to get somebody's hat, so i was expecting to see a hat, and i was, like, that's so weird, it kind of looks like a dog. a second later it obviously was a dog, and i was shocked. pete: how did you headache the reunion? >> the first thing we did was check out his tags to see, and we called them right away, and they answered crying, very upset. and after we had found him in the ocean, which was an interesting thing to say. they were about 15 minutes away in the next inlet, and we went up and met them as soon as we could and got him back. rachel: the number of people who have watched this viral video is just astounding. did you expect to get this much attention for this, you know, very wonderful thing that you did? but, wow, the amount of people. >> absolutely not. i had probably 90 people that were following me on my account before this had blown up, and it was just my friends. within about an hour we realized it was picking up, and one of the boys on the boat was like this is going to be huge, and i don't think any of us expected it to be as big as it is. rachel: what's the latest you've seen? >> i think the last time i saw it it was 12 million or right around there. pete: people love dogs. rachel: that's amazing. lawrence: i think one of the takeaways was not just your amazing rescue, but get your dogs tagged. it's still unbelievable the amount of people that don't have tags on their dog. >> tags and especially on a boat having a high visibility life jacket and making sure you're extra attentive and keeping an eye on them all times. pete: yeah. rachel: good advice. pete: sometimes you don't know that they're missing -- [laughter] not that that's ever happened to me. w -- brynn, thank you so much for being a good samaritan. rachel: i'm going to put tags on my kids too now. good racism. this is absolutely outrageous. it is disgusting. and by the way there are retired elderly people of many colors who volunteer. they keep this country going. because of what they are doing right now, lawrence, they're going to -- like what they said were going to fire the white volunteers and they assume now people are of color can't afford to volunteer so they are going to ping them which will end up raising the prices of the ticket to get into the museum which will not help people who are underprivileged. i don't get it. spate i get it we are going back in time. the leaders in
