of times today when biden was in my home state of connecticut pushing his reckless spending plan despite the soaring inflation. >> the world is watching. autocrats believe that the world is moving so rapidly that democracies cannot generate consensus quickly enough to get things done. show the world that american democracy works. >> laura: huh? what? he's already president in case he doesn't know it. then i went to rem cycle when he tried his whisper routine. >> i don't think we should punish anybody. but just pay your fair share. just pay your fair share. >> laura: but then ten minutes later, that strange tick resurfaced. >> i'm glad they made a profit. keep -- i mean it necessarily. but pay your fair share. just pay a decent portion. >> laura: biden, of course, took no questions. he ran off stage. sprinkled the speech with words like literally and no joke and for real, man. look, in all seriousness here. what is wild about how things have cratered, the same media thought that they were helping biden but not covering his agenda, the media have helped dig the hole that biden is now standing in. same for his party leaders on capitol hill and throw in the federal reserve while you're at it. not only did all of them down play inflation, they encouraged more piling on of debt. now the one democrat that did care, former treasury secretary larry summers is speaking out. >> a generation of central bankers that are defining themselves by their wokeness. they're defining themselves as how socially concerned they are. >> laura: well, he's right about that. he didn't quite go far enough. biden's puppeteers deserve a lot of blame here, including ron klain. the same ron klain that just revealed of what he really thinks of the pain that are feeling from the high cost of living. he like add tweet calling the problems high class problems. what a moron. biden is just shuffled from one lame controlled event to another, always surrounded business his protected press cocoon. this bunch biden has running the country is not just asleep at the wheel, they're not even in the car. yesterday we discovered that mayor pete is on paternity leave. okay. no big deal. people take maternity leave. big deal. it's not like he has an important cabinet positions. he's only the secretary of transportation when we have historic delays in major ports in the united states. remember, his big solution though for addressing the jam-ups, apprenticeships. now, the public considers these people such inconsequential figures at this point, i don't anybody noticed he's been on baby leave since august. tells use about the sense of urgency affecting the american people, the working people that are really hurting. are any major media concerned about absentee cabinet secretary positions? when melania was off the scene a few days, it was wall to wall. >> the last time we caught a glimpse of her was on may 10. questions about her surgery, her time at walter reed and now her invisibility. >> it was a legitimate media story. >> the first lady or the person that is standing in for a first lady disappears, you want to know where she is. >> laura: what you should be optimistic about, after ten months of biden, common sense americans are waking up. keep your eye on virginia's governor's race. terry mcauliffe has a slight lead over glen youngin. according to "the new york times," he's straining to motivate the liberal voters and increasingly blue state. virginia, it's time to save yourselves. if you let another four years go by under a democrat governor, you're going to see the terrible trend lines for schools, energy prices and crime continue. look at how far off the left pushed newsome to go after he beat that recall. imagine where terry is going to take the state if he's given the green light. radicals rule the democrat party. it's not bill clinton's anymore. democrats now it's looking grim in the old dominion. that makes me smile. just today in loudoun county school board member resigned and the superintendent that helped cover up those sexual assaults issued an after the fact apology. that's nice. special. it's only because this show and others did the job that the pro biden media refused to do. this is an obvious example of keister covering in a tightly contested election backfires. joining me now, ari fleischer, charlie hurt, and jason chaffetz. ari, start with you. a all the biden disasters from the border to afghanistan, it could be inflation that brings him down and the democrats down. back in the spring, they were saying this is transitory. doesn't look like it now. >> yeah, just like the border crossings were seasonal. the problem with inflation, most people don't remember what it was like because the last time we had it, jimmy carter and ronald reagan were president. it eats at consumers by the tens of millions every day. that's the problem with inflation. every time somebody fills their tank with gas, buys coffee, orange juice, pays rent, this winter with the home heating bills and natural gas. this is a daily piece of pain and that's why inflagrants is so rough on tens of millions of people. its one of the worst political problems anybody can have. that's why jimmy carter went to oblivion and this will dog joe biden. >> laura: the only way to help the economy is to raise interest rates. that i do want to do that because it was tank the market. they're in a catch 22. joe biden is in my home state of connecticut. he's still committed to making the wild spending moves which will exacerbate inflation. listen closely. >> convince me to get it done. we're not going to get $3.5 trillion. we'll get less than that. we're going to get it and come back and get the rest. >> laura: he's going to come back and get the rest. what is this? this is a grocery store with empty shelves. there's nothing on the shelves now. >> yeah, by the way, let's also remember, highly unlikely especially when i think we all can sort of safely bet that democrats will not be in control, certainly not as much control of washington in two years or a year from now as they are right now. that's wishful thinking on his part. let's not forget, you know, a big reason that why we are seeing this inflation is because of this ridiculous amount of spending out of washington that all of which cheapens the value of your buying power of the money that people have in their pockets. people understand that. that's why democrats and joe biden in that speech today was talking about this. talking about how we want to lowter price of child care. everybody wants to lower the price of child care. of course, we would all love that. the problem is can you do it? what are your plans? when they go to the gas pump and the store and see that buying hamburger for their family is $7 a pound or a package of bacon is $7 a pound, the idea that they're going to do something to lower the price -- >> laura: it's ridiculous. >> they just want more money. >> laura: price controls? that worked out so well the last jason, this happened yesterday. so the white house press secretary comes out and it's all this bad economic news that rolls in. she tries to spin it by saying that the supply shortages are actually a really good sign. watch. >> we're at this point because the unemployment rate has come down and been cut in half because people are buying more goods, because people are traveling and because demand is up. because the economy is turning back on. the point is here that we are at this point because we made progress in the economy. >> laura: oh, my god. this is -- we had to actually go to france's finance minister, guys, who was on television being brutally honest about what lies ahead. >> is this supply chain crisis, does it alleviate in weeks, months? is it lasting? >> i'd say it will last until the end of 2022 at least. >> more than a year? >> more than a year. >> laura: the end of 2022. how does that look for the democrats? >> it doesn't end well. look, inflation is outpacing wages. the government is still paying too many people not to work. so you go to any restaurant or anyplace that you want to go, they have worker shortages. the government is spending too much money, so they're exacerbating the supply chain. they got rid of our energy independence and our ability to draw down the price availability of fuel. foreign affairs is working just horrifically. crime is up. you know, the border is wide open. there's nothing that is going well. and jen psaki says this is all by design is just -- that's why the democrats won't own up to it, why they'll be the biggest loser come 2022. >> laura: yeah. i ended the angle with this, which is the opportunity that lies ahead in virginia. this is the epicenter what politics is right now in the country. the debate about education. we saw the superintendent of loudoun county resigned, apologized for not taking the assaults seriously in the bathroom. got the crt issue. senator tim kaine, a democrat from virginia, says this is just not an issue. watch. >> i don't think that many people are angry in virginia about education, chris. terry mcauliffe has a record. the record was some of the biggest increases in funding for schools. the other reasons parent are not angry, they get to vote for school board members. how can glen youngin call a topsy-turvy. >> laura: ory what is he missing here? >> he's missing this race for governor. i heard glen youngin say this week that the reason things have gone to the point that they are is why republicans were just regularly conservatives living their life, the democrats stacked school boards with liberals and woke progressives. parents were home and saw what their children were going through. we heard about school boards now. an alleged rape took place and the school board suppressed the information about it, this is a righteous anger. we're seeing conservative grass roots activism that sun like republicans, protesting in the streets to show up at school boards. i've never seen a passionate grass-roots base. remind me of the tea party of 2010. genuine, raw and certainly is happening in virginia. >> laura: charlie, immigrant women as we know, you know, women of color, if this is not a political issue, this is a kids issue. common sense. >> absolutely. it's not a democrat or republican issue. democrats want their kids educated the way that republicans do. and to listen to somebody like terry mcauliffe said parents should have no say in what -- he said that openly in a debate. parents should not be telling schools what it is they should be teaching the children. it's absolutely astonishing. you see the biden administration using the doj to go after parents that are showing up at school board meetings. it's staggering. >> laura: they keep making mistake after mistake. it's a messaging problem. it's not. it's a policy problem. thanks all of you so much. this big spending agenda of biden and the democrats has hit another snag. it's called the american people. turns out after nine months of joe biden, americans are clamoring for their government to do less. the "washington post" notes that since 1992, gallup has been asking whether government should do more to solve the country's problems. late last year, 54% said they wanted more from the government. a month ago, only 43% did. joining me now, kentucky senator rand paul. senator, it was in the middle of covid. it was a stunning data point in this middle of this attempted spend-0-rama. >> yeah, i've been watching this. me and my wife were alarmed that people wanted more and more free things, wanted to experiment with socialism. now we've seen eight, nine months of big government socialism coming from biden and people are starting to understand there's consequences. one of the consequences are prices are rising. we've had the highest increase in the cost of living for social security. the question is will it keep up for prices. will they go up 10%? what happens if they're hahn social security and lower wage income? big government socialism doesn't work. people are unhappy with it. this is important for people to know. they also need to know the history of socialism. every time it's been tried in history, it ends up with authoritarianism and violence. it's economically a terrible system if you want to get ahead for you and your family. >> good luck. speaking of big government, senator paul, those of us that are concerned about the treatment of some of the january 6th defendants, we've been dismissed and laughed at. now a judge is demanding an investigation. royce b. lambert said jail officials failed to turn over information that recommended surgery for a capitol rioter's broken wrist. appalling. >> look, my number 1 impression of january 6, people fighting with the police shouldn't have and people that entered shouldn't. have but i hear of all of these cases. i met a woman that is a journalist that has podcasts, been on television. she's on a no fly list and yanged off of a plane. this is the kind of stuff happening. i met a young man in his early 20s. he's been fired, uprooted and lost his job. the pictures of him as he wandering through, walking past. police never told him to leave. i'm not saying it's right, but he's walking in, he's not yelling, talking to anybody. he was curious and walking around. he got swept up by this crowd. so for justice not to differentiate between people sort of wandered in and people fighting with the police, there is a big difference. i am worried about what we're doing to these people. for one, the mob that attacked my wife and i that bloodied a policeman and caused a laceration, nothing happened to them. no investigation how they got to washington, who paid for their hotel rooms, who is paying for the stuff they're doing. nothing. >> laura: thank you for mentioning that. that is appalling after what happened to you. meanwhile, the biden administration that -- we know there's no accountability. instead, they reward bad actors. we learned that the administration has restored former fbi deputy director andy mccabe's pension. they removed any references to having been retired and restored his retirement money. we just had this marine lieutenant colonel scheller looks like he will suffer but mccabe, no. >> rewarding mccabe and used his position to go after donald trump. he's now rewarded with his job back. you have the department of justice with merrick garland saying if you're a mom and you're irate about what they're teaching your kids at school -- it is awful. but you need to be aware that your government can listen to every phone call, can discover everything about you, yank you off a plane, prevent you from flying. that's not the america i want to live in and we have to push back. >> laura: senator paul, thanks for leading in this. we warned you the left would come for the founding fathers. now the radicals controlling new york city, they're coming off city councilman joe barelli. he has an answer. and disdain for our history has been embraced by walmart. chris rufo has the latest next. one of my favorite supplements is qunol turmeric. turmeric helps with healthy joints and inflammation support. unlike regular turmeric supplements qunol's superior absorption helps me get the full benefits of turmeric. the brand i trust is qunol. >> laura: the most extreme abolish america elements on the left are embolden. you can see it and feel it. they have cultural power, they have momentum. statues coming down is the least of our problems. their aim is to pull down our whole culture. the american founding, western civilization and everything that sprang from it. now new york city mayor bill de blasios goons are trying to remove a 200-year-old statue of thomas jefferson from city hall. of course they are. according to the "new york post," the historic statue's remove value was scheduled for an up or down vote instead of a hearing with public testimony. now that this secret plot has been exposed, the committee scheduled a hearing more monday. mayor de blasio is distancing himself from this take-down of jefferson because it was orchestrated by his own appointees? >> this is something, again that came from the council, not me. i'll speak to my views on thomas jefferson. he's a complex figure. he's such a profound part of our history. that needs to be seen, that needs to be respected. the part that is troubling needs to be seen and addressed as well. >> laura: wonder what your failing will be addressed. that's my question. he's complex. joining me now, joe barelli. this is a disgrace wrapped in an outrage. coming from all people, de blasio, who has taken a wrecking ball to the new york any. >> right. in a weird way, he's right. jefferson is a very larger than life character in our american history. but no one on the preserve statue side is trying to take jefferson out of the context that he was a slave owner or that slavery is bad. what the left is trying to do is rewrite history and tear down statues erasing his legacy on american history. by the way, laura, the republic that he helped founding is working out well for people, the freedom of rights, freedom of press, freedom of having troops in your house. it worked out well for new yorkers. that's why he was given a spot in the city council chamber. >> laura: i'm not going to give de blasio any props. i don't give him any props. that's not how you look at history. you look at it in the full lens. so he's opening the door for the removal of other statues where the balance is not exactly as obvious as it is in jefferson's case. so maybe next year, the balance will tip against jefferson or another historical figure. de blasio is just -- he knows this is a disaster. he probably wants it ripped down. that is my view. >> you're 100% right. he's someone that really is behind all of this. he appointed all the people to this public design commission. there's no tearing down jefferson's statue without bill de blasio's go-ahead. the city council where the statue is located in 2018 honored a haitian founding father of who massacred 5,000 men, women and children that were french colonials. just because characters are complex is not necessarily a problem for the city government. it seems the woke left is only focused on a certain class of people, the people that did more than anyone else to make the country what it is, the founding fathers. now we're left here where history is being literally torn from a building which has stood for almost 200 years. >> laura: it's about the country. they want the country taken down. so other than george floyd statues, breonna taylor, there's no one left. thanks, joe. as our city's crumble, so too do many of our once great corporations where wokeness is now rewarded. so what is the latest example? walmart has launched a critical race theory training programs that labels the u.s. as a white supremacy system. joining me now, a journalist that uncovered this, chris barufo and director of the initiative on critical race theory at the manhattan instituted. a contributing editor at city journal. chris, what else did you learn? >> we've learned that critical race theory is endemic for america's fortune 100 countries. i have documents where they're training employees, telling white employees that they're internalized white supremacists and telling employees of color that they suffer from racial inferiority a filled with rage and hatred. that they're incapable of seizing opportunity. it's really an all-around bat deal for everyone. the only people it's good for are the executives. they get to get a pad on the back, be lauded in the media for being pioneers of social justice and denigrating the hourly wage employees as hapless human beings. it's a scandal and they have to stop. >> laura: the walmart training presents employees with something called a ladder of i'm power -- empowerment for white people to embrace their shame where white can do right. chris, i'd like them to try that over at walmart on the people who actually patronize walmart who happen to be white. maybe they should -- before they spend their hard earned money at walmart, they should go through this training as well. how do you think that would go over? >> i don't think it would go over well. the average customer from walmart, for walmart is a working class white american. the training program makes it quite clear, walmart believes that those people are white supremacists, they're racist and oppressive and have to accept their complicity in a racist country before they can actually pass through the stage of learning that whites can not do right until they become anti-racist, adopt left wing ideology and only then walmart says that white can do right. it's bad. you have to overcome and abolish your own whiteness just to be a real human being. this is what is happening in bentonville, arkansas at walmart's headquarters. it has to be exposed. >> laura: it's a poison and a scam. great to see you, chris. thank you. >> thank you. >> laura: musicians turn to ghost hunting and we're going to introduce you to biden's newest and youngest crop of lobbyists. raymond arroyo has it. friday follies are next. bra. i'm from colorado. i've been married to my high school sweetheart for 35 years. i'm a mother of four-- always busy. i was starting to feel a little foggy. just didn't feel like things were as sharp as i knew they once were. i heard about prevagen and then i started taking it about two years now. started noticing things a little sharper, a little clearer. i feel like it's kept me on my game. i'm able to remember things. i'd say give it a try. prevagen. healthier brain. better life. age-related macular degeneration may lead to severe vision loss, so the national eye institute did 20 years of clinical studies on a formula found in preservision. if it were my vision, i'd ask my doctor about preservision. it's the most studied eye vitamin brand. if it were my vision, i'd look into preservision preservision areds 2 contains the exact nutrient formula recommended by the nei to help reduce the risk of moderate to advanced amd progression. i have amd, it is my vision, so my plan includes preservision. there's software. and then there's industrial grade software, forged from decades of industrial experience and insights. meet honeywell forge. analytical software that connects assets and people to deliver a cybersecure record of your entire operation. so that everyone, in your boardroom and beyond, speaks the same language. honeywell forge. industrial grade software. >> welcome to fox news live. i'm jackie ibanez. the pentagon offering unspecified condolence payments to ten families killed in a botched drone strike in afghanistan in august. it occurred amid the chaos of the final days of the u.s. troops withdrawing from the country. the defense department can offer up to $3 million, a year to compensation for property damage, personal jury our death. efforts are underway to help surviving members relocate to the u.s. police say a fatal stabbing of a british lawmaker was terrorism. he was meeting with constituents when he was stabbed in a church. police arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of murder. authorities believe the attacker acted alone. i'm jackie ibanez, now bank to "the ingraham angle." for more, go to foxnews. come. >> laura: it's friday. that piece it's time for friday follies. for that, we turn to fox news contributor, raymond arroyo. ray month, i know this is your favorite holidays. you're from new orleans. so getting close to halloween. we have two major singers that have found second careers as what? super natural investigators? who are these people? >> lawyer are, it's down right spooky as you'll see in a second. singer kesha is planning to take it off in her new discovery plus series. it's conjuring kesha. she communicates with ghosts. this is not the first time she's done so apparently. >> i did have sexy times with a ghost. and it was fun. erotic. spooky. it was weird. but it did happen. >> okay. her next series could be called therapy sessions with kesha. she has a podcast, laura, where she discusses her experiences with the spirits even if she doesn't know their names. then there's demi lovato. she too is chasing the unknown. in her new series "unidentified", she visited ufo sites and tries to contact aliens. her approach is very novel. >> do you like to sing, carmen? we've talked about this off line before. which lobbyists have the most sway here? who is it? >> you know, we have a big indication of this the other day. the president signed an order to protect the bears ears national monument. look at the lobbyist that got his attention. >> she said you have to prom mission me, you have to promise me to protect the bears ear. you promise? you promise? i promised. >> laura, unbelievable. how long before k street and the other bobbying firms send teams of young girls in. in fact, there was a lobbiest that got biden's attention today before he spoke at a build back better event. see that? now, none of this should surprise us. >> when i talk to your folks in the playground, i joked -- everybody knows i like kids better than people. >> you see? these are the lobbyists to be. i'm telling you, there's teams of them surrounding the white house any day now. >> for parents who occasionally, you know, call their kids -- he says i like kids better than people. they're not really people, i guess. there's a clear gender bias at the white house. now lego is promising to eliminate gender stereotypes. i didn't realize lego was so sexist. >> laura, this could be the most absurd story of the week. does this look like gender bias to you? it has male and female characters, girls devowing harry potter books. does this discourage girls from playing with lego. >> the truth is, lego is trying to expand the audience share. they did a survey. 76% of parents encouraged sons to play with legos. now they say they have to be viewed as playing with sets not for them. how about disney princesses? there's gender specific toys that boys and girls are attracted to. >> laura: no. >> why are we insisting or companies insists that they have to play with different toys? it's called nature. >> laura: all i can say is my middle son would build something like a boat with no directions. then my littlest would come and smash it and my oldest, the only girl, would say when are we going to starbucks. they didn't care anything about it. >> exactly. >> laura: raymond, fascinating. have a great weekend. see you monday. the interview with the chicago police union head happened last night. rattled some cages in the windy city. moments we have mayor lightfoot's reaction and his response. stay there. >> laura: chicago police union president john catanzarro made a stunning announcement this week. if enforced, city-backed mandates would take half of chicago's officers off the streets this weekend. in our exclusive interview, he challenged mayor lightfoot's charge that officers failing to supply with insubordinate. >> because she says it doesn't make it so. it's not illegal, proper directive. we had a special meeting last night of membership. it was unanimous across the board, hold the line, don't bend. it's not john catanzarro pushing this. john catanzarro is the mouthpiece for the fop members that want something done on their behalf. >> laura: well, this morning in a fit of rage, all we can call it, mayor lightfoot made clear she was watching the show. she filed a plate against catanzarro and wrote as chicago's mayor i will not stand by while the rhetoric of conspiracy theorists threaten the safety of chicago's residents and first responders and deliberately misled officers by lying about the order. shortly after the injunction was announced, catanzarro responded. >> they can take us to court all they want. we already are filing paperwork to dismiss that silly motion. we also are filing -- already have this drafted, our own tro to compel the city to go to interest arbitration. they have done everything but negotiate in good faith regardless of what the mayor says. >> good for catanzarro. fighting back. it's here where we should remind you where lori lightfoot's loyalties lie. last year when teacher's unions were refusing to come to work, lightfoot backed down, let the teachers walk all over her and destroy the education system in chicago. but now when a mandate could actually threaten the safety and security of her citizens and put thousands of officers out of a job, she just pushing with all of her might. don't forget this, chicago. now while many democrat-run cities are seeing double digit increases in murders, homicides are only up about 1.5% in chicago. well, that's just because the windy city was so violent that even this year's crime surge is just a blip on the radar. according to the "chicago sun-times," chicago has seen more than 500 murders each year the past four years, this year has seen more than 630 people killed and more than 2,000 shot. beyond the obvious pain and suffering, these horrifying stats reveal a city in decline. the schools in decline, the populous fleeing for other states. my next guest wrote a book titled "what's next, chicago?" i don't like the phrase "pissed off" but i understand why you use it here. how can chicago be saved when it seems like they're cycling the same time of political leaders in election cycle after election cycle? >> i think the first thing we can do is reschedule our municipal elections. they're hold in odd numbered years in the early months of the year. we only have 33% voter turnout compared to 70% for presidential elections. that has to be changed through state law. we also need to pay more attention to judicial elections in order to reform bail reform. the revolving door policy for violent criminals that we're all too familiar with can be turned around if we put judges in office who understood that serious crimes require serious punishment. then you turn to public education. mayor lightfoot agreed to a cap on charter school growth. that's all wrong. >> laura: last january, lori lightfoot says she plans on having a reunion weekend for black chicagoans that fled the city. she said we lost a lot of population the last ten plus year. people leaving chicago going to other places in the country. we have to change that. we open up, we're going to market to other areas of the country that know to come back home. matt, she's announcing a p.r. campaign to bring people home. what is so wrong about that? >> sadly, laurie, this is the strategy in chicago city hall to try to sound bite your way out of egregious misgovernance. there's no chance at all that a p.r. campaign is going to turn things around. what we need are safe streets, more foot patrols by the police. we need a chief judge of cook county to replace tim evans, that guy that instituted the bail reform. we need a better state's attorney than kick fox who has never seen a dismissed prosecution that she didn't like. we need somebody running the city, our owner rick adams, if you will, who will take on the teacher's union. it's going to take a lot to turn the tide. >> laura: thanks, matt. more when we return. this isn't just freight. these aren't just shipments. they're promises. big promises. small promises. cuddly shaped promises. each with a time and a place they've been promised to be. and the people of old dominion never turn away a promise. or over promise. or make an empty promise. we keep them. a promise is everything to old dominion, because it means everything to you. this month, freedom matters gear, all of the proceeds -- my proceeds go to charity. this month it's st. dominick's priory in dc. a lot of men like the grey, i don't know why. and women. but it's great for the cold weather months. go to laura ingraham.com for all of a good cause. set your dvrs so you never miss an episode. what's at stake in america now and forever. freedom does matter. we will see you back here on monday night. >> gutfeld: happy friday, everyone. it will be a great show tonight. but first, a disclaimer. >> warning, greg is still coming down from a strong anesthetic. we're not responsible for anything that he says in the
