this is how leaders are handling a crumbling economy. he slammed donald trump over food supply issues. >> we don't have food shortage problems. we have a leadership problem. one of the reasons why we're not getting material and food to people's tables is because there's no way to get it transported to there. we don't know how to manage what's going on. we can't afford to let people go wondering where they're going to getting the next meal. so, right now, hunger today isn't about scarcity, it's about massive failure in leadership. >> we couldn't have said it better ourselves, joe. it's a leadership problem, but your leadership that's failing the nation. here's a crazy idea whachlt if biden answered the questions about the economy. three time this is week, biden spoke to the american public. each time they continued the time-honored tradition of refusing to talk to the media. instead, he chooses to turn the back on the press, on america, and on you. the supply chain and economic crisis are just the latest in the long line of joe biden's failures. he told us he wouldn't leave americans behind in afghanistan, but he did. he said he wouldn't raise taxes on those uh making under $400,000, but inflation is going to make the cost of living soar. he keeps saying the border is secure, but 30,000 haitian migrants would tell you differently. joe biden's administration has been a total failure. i think the handling of the supply chain issue wouldn't be any different. joining me now is the host of "hannity," sean hannity. how you doing? >> hey, great to see you. i have a funny story about jessie. he wanted me to put it in his book. i asked him five times. we said, no, we are not putting that story in the book. congrats on "the five," you've done great job on your weekend show, you know, we're friends, i'm happy for all of your success. >> thank you. one of these days we will tell that story because that was one of the best days of my life. i i can't believe it. >> the problem is the topic is kind of sensitive. i don't think it's salacious, by the way. >> no, not at all. clean fun. >> a lot of people are humorless in this world. you are great about it. >> jesse: i listened. didn't i listen to your advice. i didn't put it in the books. now everybody wants to know. >> jesse calls me and like, put it in the book. i'm like, no. no. >> jesse: i called you four times. let's not talk about the story. let's talk about joe biden and what's happening here in this country. you had a tough week. the country is having a tough week. he doesn't have a clue on how to fix it. it's only going to get worse. isn't that what you think? >> hannity: listen, afghanistan, we abandoned our fellow americans. never thought i'd see that, that happened. the chaos at the border -- these are all preventable disasters. the border is an unmitigated mess in the middle of a pandemic. i support legal immigration, respect our laws, border, sovereignty, security health check, financial means, not be a burden on the american people. all right. then you look at the energy crisis that the demand for energy, the life blood of the world's economy remains constant. we have artificially reduced it because of joe's new green deal socialist policies. now every american is paying more for every single item they buy. and if you look at inflation, it's now, what, going near a 30-year high. it's an unmitigated disaster. we have more people dead from covid in 2021 than in 2020. and he inherited three vaccines and monoclonal antibodies. looking at taiwan about to be reunionified according to the communist chinese and joe is not lifting a finger there. now he's allowing taliban to the country not knowing that they're terrorists and apparently the iranian envoy is saying it's inevitable iran is going to get nukes. besides that, all of the news i've been reading is great. you can imagine i told people in the last election, this is going to happen, this is going to happen. you can't fly. you can't hire. more people are going to die this year. you can't get toys under the tree in time. >> you have young kids. you're a late shopper. it's your fault. >> jesse: it's all of our faults. >> hannity: and fedex and ups -- joe doesn't control that. joe's innocent of everything. i don't think he knows what day of the week it is. that's my honest assessment. he is a cognitive mess. great puppeteer, ron claim, whoever else is pulling the strings behind the scenes, these are disastrous policies. we are witnessing in our lifetime i believe what will go down as probably the worst presidency in history, above jimmy carter. >> jesse: i agree. you get the carter inflation but it will be the weakest recovery since the last weakest recovery since world war ii, you won't be able to find the jobs. go ahead. >> hannity: what recovery? >> jesse: totally stalled out if you look at the last three reports. the big lie is we're going to have $3.5 trillion in new spending. but, oh, no, it's not going to cost us a penny. no, we don't need to test illegal immigrants for covid. they're in the going to be here long. they tell a lot of whoppers every over there. if you look at the people, we're told if you make $400,000 a year or more, you're going to get the tax. if you make under that, you're not going to be taxed. the people who are now being negatively impacted by higher gas prices, you pay more to fill up your tank, heat, cool your home, every product you buy in every grocery store costs more. every drugstore costs more. if you can get it, lumber is going through the roof, meat is going through the roof. aluminum is through the roof. every product imaginable. who's getting hurt the most? bill o reilly, what did he say -- the folks, middle class americans. the people -- >> jesse: not a high class problem as the puppeteer said. they spin everything. afghanistan was a smashing success. if you point out any problem, you know, they go after the guys on horseback stopping the border crisis. >> hannity: unbelievable. >> jesse: they go after the police and the private sector trying to struggle to get the products to the stores. he says the buck stops with him. it doesn't. it doesn't. it doesn't stop anywhere. >> hannity: here's a question, i'm asking this honestly. everybody watching you tonight. can you name or think of one thing or one policy that joe has implemented that is successful? because i can't. and this is not partisan for me. i will give you an example. i don't care who gets covid if they -- i want them to get well even if it means they're going to spend the rest of their lives trying to get people like you and me fired. >> jesse: right. >> hannity: right. i want everyone american coming home from afghanistan, if they're going to get you and me, try to get us fired, i want them home. this is not political for me. the idea that we had energy independence and we blew it and we had low energy prices -- that's the biggest tax cut you can give americans. now, we can fix the border, go back to the trump-era policies, we can go back to energy independence and stop begging opec for more oil production. we can fix the problem and in afghanistan it's more complicated. but i can go in there and say fellow americans, green cardholders, and afghan allies we told we would protect them if this day came. and as far as the economy goes, you have to go back to simple basics. you don't need to spend more money, we need to cut taxes, stimulate growth, get people hired, and the american people will rise to the occasion. the supply chain can be fixed if we want it fixed. these are all self-inflicted wounds by biden. >> jesse: couldn't agree more. talking about biden, maybe thinking about the remain in mexico policy after the break. the great sean hannity. >> hannity: only bringing it back because the courts are making them bring it back. see you tonight. >> jesse: we'll tell that story one of these days. kamala harris had a hard time explaining the child actors. what happens when she's asked of a supply chain crisis? and then i said you wanted to have kids and i wasn't so sure, who had it reversed and who had it reversed back. snip, snap, snip, snap, snip, snap. i did. you have no idea the physical toll three vasectomies have on a person. >> jesse: looks like the biden administration is applying the snip snap snip snap when it comes to immigration. they abandoned the remain in mexico policy. but we have a report that the dhs is looking to reinstate it after the federal court voted to uphold the policy today. brett, i'm looking at a new report. they're going to reinstate, remain in mexico as they work to abolish the program by a different method. what's going on here. >> first of all, i loved the lead in, snip-snap. that's good. the only reason that's happening because as sean mentioned, this is a federal judge that says you have to do this. and it was upheld by the supreme court. it was a lawsuit filed by texas and missouri saying that it was against what they were trying to do on the border. and it was harmful to the operation. you know, i talked to rodney scott, the head of border patrol under both trump and biden recently. and he said one of the best things that happened was remain in mexico. it really helped with the numbers on the border and it was the best thing going, nonpartisan. it just happened to be under the trump administration. well, now, the biden administration says they're going to do it by mid november but they're only doing it kicking and screaming because a federal judge said they had to. >> jesse: it was the crown jewel of the trump immigration policy. and now we have in the same report i'm reading from, mexico says, you know, we're not really sure we're going to go along with this thing. now, i remember in the last administration, you had tariff threats, you had more than tariff threats. i think they were going to threaten to designate the cartels as terrorist organizations. you had all kinds of leverage that the trump administration used to get mexico to cooperate on the border. biden just sent a bunch of cabinet officials down to mexico city. do you have any idea that we're kind of bringing any of the same type of leverage to the table? >> definitely not the same type of leverage. we don't know the result of those talks. they did have high level talks. the attorney general, the department of homeland security secretary. and we don't know what's coming out of that. but you're right, we didn't use the leverage that the trump administration did. in fact, mexico was very helpful beyond just the remain in mexico policy. there were troops, there were fell ralis -- federalis using mexican forces helping along the southern border of mexico and along our border. it's a major, major problem. vice president harris is going for root causes but we have not seen her on this issue. >> no, we have not. now we're getting reports from bill melugian that cartel members have been shooting across the border at border patrol and texas rangers have started to investigate. if people start letting off rounds from the mexico side to our side of the border, anything can happen. >> bill is so good down there. he has a lot of contacts. basically it's like hitting a balloon. they go to one spot. and then the cartels move everybody to the other spot. and that has really frustrated border patrol. and it's enabled the cartels to move a lot of the material and the people across that border. >> you have the big book out. it's number one on amazon. i'm a little jealous. it took five days for my book to go number one because of a reese witherspoon book club recommendation kept me out of the number one spot for many days. you did it on the first day, basically. the book is received well. anything that you would like to tell the audience? any one reason they have to go buy this thing? >> there's nuggets in here that you don't get anywhere else. the national archives are a treasure trove of stories that -- i'm not a historian but i'm a reporter of history. and in this, it's very readable. i didn't do a lot of signings but i'm going to go to the nix on library on monday, the reagan library on tuesday. we'll bounce around a little bit. but signed copies are out there. people with get them. it's ban lot of fun, great response. thanks to you and others for having me on. >> jesse: thank you. they're going love you. i guarantee it. thanks for coming on primetime. >> all right. >> jesse: kamala harris had a terrible week. she had a piece with paid child actors. how embarrassing. she came back to earth for this hard hitting interview on infrastructure in the swing state of pa. >> when you think pittsburgh, what do you think, huh? >> well, given that we right now trying to pass our infrastructure bill, i would say i think of the city of bridges. i noe that pittsburgh has over 440 bridges. >> jesse: she knows nothing about pittsburgh. what she said is literally the first sentence that pops up when you google pittsburgh. when she's asked the follow up question about the supply chain crisis, it's going to be good. >> i will tell you, first of all, it's a global issue. and to that extent, i was in southeast asia, i went to meet with the prime minister of singapore and the president of vietnam. >> and a long-term solution frankly is to build more in america. we didn't have to buy a thing from china or southeast asia if we could make it at home. >> exactly. that was the point of my trip. >> jesse: that was the point, she just didn't mention it at all. because as far as we knew, the only news we saw out of that trip was her masked up in front of a statue of ho chi minh. it got weirder when the staff tried to interrupt. >> let me ask about build back better. i've done a number of stories on that. >> let's invest in our infrastructure making sure every family has access, affordable access to high-speed internet. that's the way kids do their homework. how people in remote areas to see their doctor, the telemedicine. these are examples of what the build back better agenda does with the focus on the american family. >> going to have to have cutbacks -- >> they're cutting off joe and kamala. there's tomi lahren and steve host of the next generation. tomi, you go first. >> she was talking about internet access in rural areas. she said those of us in rural areas weren't smart enough to get voter id. what is a terrible week for kamala harris, really? what is a terrible week for joe biden? it's getting worse and worse. a terrible week is a week that she's not indulging herself at a bakery for a photo op. joe's not running the show. he doesn't know where he is. he mumbles. he can't do anything without a teleprompter. kamala won't go to the border. she won't b do anything that she's been assigned. all of us americans would like to know. things aren't going well. we'd like to know who to blame. i don't think we can blame joe or kamala at this point. we want to know who's running the show, who we need to get out of there and we want to know how quickly we can do it. >> go ahead. >> when did she have a good week? what we're seeing week-by-week is the defining characteristics of ka mshg ala. a, she's useless, b, she's fake. she shows that every week. it comes back to the fundamental problem with her that i've been arguing all along just as with joe biden, she's a machine politician. she doesn't care about any issues or beliefs or principles. all she cares about is advancing her own interests. by the way, i know that not just by observing her, i live here in california in the bay area and kamala harris' political home. the democrats here who know her best, they can't stand her. they're the ones who say she's totally fake and inauthentic and cannot be trusted. that's the democrats. so lord knows what the rest of us is supposed to make of it. >> you saw it, hopefully you got the memo. everyone is leaving, tesla left, everyone is leaving. i will see you somewhere else besides california next week, probably. i will see you guys later, thanks so much. coming up, big liberal cities are going to hell in a hand basket, it's only going to get worse as massive cop shortages could be on our hands. i always had a connection to my grandfather... i always wanted to learn more about him. i discovered some very interesting documents on ancestry. this is the uh registration card for the draft for world war two. and this is his signature which blew me away. being able to... make my grandfather real... not just a memory... is priceless. his legacy...lives on. >> tech: when you get a chip in your windshield... is priceless. trust safelite. this couple was headed to the farmers market... when they got a chip. they drove to safelite for a same-day repair. and with their insurance, it was no cost to them. >> woman: really? >> tech: that's service the way you need it. >> singers: ♪ safelite repair, safelite replace. ♪ >> jesse: residents of far left cities across the country are under attack like this woman who was brutally beaten in a nighttime ambush in new york or this man in seattle pummeled in broad daylight. it's not just the people, businesses like san francisco are facing free for all shoplifting sprees that are putting stores out of business. it's like the purge out there and things are likely to get worse as the police forces in places like seattle may lose hundreds of cops when the vaccine mandates are enforced later this month. joining us is jason rant, seattle radio talk show host. how bad is it out there? >> really bad. thanks to the mandates, the seattle police department is going to lose between 100 and 400 officers on monday. this is a department that can't afford to lose any. you have record high homicide rates. the spd lost a third of their department since last year thanks to the defund movement. it's gotten so bad, right now the department is stage three mobilization which means everyone who can be deployed to respond to 911 calls have to be uniform ready which means you're taking detectives off of murder cases to respond to some of the calls. if you think it can't get worse? it can. we're going to lose 100 or so firefighters and emts for the same reason. and thanks to the governor's vaccine mandate, we have hospitals across the state bracing to lose up to 700 staffers. on top of that, the pharmacies are losing staff over the mandates. this is what this means. next week, after an appearance on primetime, i will walk out of the studio and i can be stabbed by one of the dozens of homeless men of the encampment across the street which happened to a random person three weeks ago when he was walking his dog. cops will be called. won't be here for 10 to 15 minutes. the suspect is going to get away. i'm going to wait an traeks ten minutes for the emts to arrive because of staffing issues. probably kept calm from the contact high from the drug camp next door, that's positive. i will be rushed to a hospital that doesn't have as many nurses or doctors to help me. this is a real world scenario that could start as early as monday at the end of the business day. >> jesse: there is no way, jason, that this liberal mayor or governor are going to follow through with the threats to get rid of these workers, these police officers and firefighters and nurses? there is no way they could look their own voters in the eyes and say, yes, we're going to lay off hundreds and hundreds of police and firefighters, emts in this situation like this. there's no way this is going to happen? >> i hope you're right. but the officers, firefighters, emts have received their termination notices. some are clearing out lockers. >> jesse: yeah, it has to be a bluff. we don't live in a country like that where you're just going to get rid of people, get rid of police officers at that level, just not going to happen. i don't see it happening. i think we have more sense than that. but we'll follow it on monday and we'll be tuning in for your report on "primetime" on monday, stay safe out there. >> appreciate it. >> jesse: also here tonight, author of the book "san francicko." he had some great insight on this. this is an experiment by leftist intellectuals who go to school, have socialist dreams, all of the theories, they try to apply the utopian theories that never worked anywhere to cities like san francisco, and the people that we're experimenting on are our own citizenry and it's blowing up in everyone's face. is that what you found? >> yeah, i think that's fair to say. one of the things i discovered in my research for san francisco-sicko, they're concerned about victims of the system. they would sacrifice 1,000 african-americans if they were victims of systemic racism rather than other citizens. 30 times people are killed by other civilians than by police. homicide increased 40% in oakland this year. 60% in portland over last year. and the excuses that are given is maybe covid, maybe people are buying guns. that's what you get from "the new york times." the evidence is overwhelming that it's been pullback of police and emboldened criminals led to increase of homicide and crime. >> jesse: you say the benefits of the system. but they run the system. the system is run primarily federal bureaucrats, mostly democrats. especially in these cities. san francisco police chiefs, democrat prosecutors, mayors, democrats. the system is all run by democrats yet they're upset with the system that they're running for hurting people. i don't even get that. >> yeah, i mean, it makes a lot less sense if you stare too hard at it. that's exactly right. the idea is they want to tear down the system. it's really a kind of an an anarchism. it's why they turned over the traditionally black neighborhood in seattle to anarchists last year, two african-americans were killed. the evidence is overwhelming that more police prevents homicide. more police prevents crime. it's something that everybody should support. so it's not just -- it's a failed experiment. we know that reducing police, demoralizing police, they've lost hundreds of police in seattle, san francisco, portland, and we're seeing results on the street, more black lives lost to homicide and white liberals shrug their shoulders and say well, that's systemic racism. >> they only care if a white person takes a black life. if a black person takes a white life, they don't care at all. anarchy, that's the point. they do want anarchy. it's an immature way to think about society. they just want to tear everything apart. they want b to rip it up. they're looking to instill chaos. what do you think is behind that appetite for anarchy? >> yeah, it's really destructive. i mean, on the one hand, there's sort of this pretense of liberal compassion and caring about people. but they don't care when the victims are victims of other civilian, 30 times more african-americans killed busy ceruleans than by police. so it's an attack on the pillars of civilization. we saw it was the radical left that took down the psychiatric hospitals in the 60s and up 0s. the radical left that's been trying to defund the police. and the radical left in the process of destroying our free universities. so, really every major institution central to western civilization is under attack right now by progressives in the name of progress. >> jesse: they want to break it down so they can build it back up in their own images. it's never going to happen and never going to work. great reporting out there, michael, and everybody should go check out that book. it's a good read. >> thanks, je see. >> jesse: ron desan 'tis tells us how he really feels about joe biden. this is good. how i saved halloween.
