speak of the fact got chuck schumer the leading democrat publicly blasting the president over this is actually a big deal. >> shannon: under immense pressure from a growing number of media outlets putting spotlight on the issue. and democrats who are unhappy with how the situation is being handled. >> we are following this trump policy. he's the one not following what is and what is not allowed, those they can rescue, those delay into the country what are we doing here? >> new reports being what is said in public... is not the full story as many of the haitian migrants are also on planes and buses taking them further into the u.s. how does the white house expect to get this under control? another surge on the horizon. "fox news @ night" starts right now. we've got team coverage tonight, brings us the latest from the ground in del rio. but first kevin corke tells us how the biden administration is dealing with its rapidly growing border crisis. a good, kevin. >> americans left behind in afghanistan, stalled infrastructure and legislature, a diplomatic dustup with an ally abroad. to say as a rough couple of weeks for the biden administration would be a gross understatement. frankly it's the border crisis that has truly revealed either a galling inability to solve the problem, or duplicitous lack of will to do so. either way, it is a growing problem, as you point out, as is the course of criticism. >> it's like i'm in bizarro world. i see in front of me, you see in front of you. but we've had some people pretend not to see it. i don't mean to be disrespectful to you, sir, but it seems like you don't want to see it. speak a few places have rivaled the lion's den as the capitol hill did today. homeland security secretary alejandra mae arcus seeing withering criticism of what people call the biden administration's dereliction of duty. >> let me ask you, mr. secretary. of the 1.3 million people we've apprehended, how many people have been returned, how many people are being detained, how many people have been dispersed? >> demerit, set this exchange and emotion. >> you would think you'd be a little bit better prepared now, but now maybe somebody else will ask you the same question. you don't have that information? >> congressman, let me share with you something quite clearly. i worked 18 hours a day. when i return from yesterday's hearing, i actually focus on the mission. we'll get the data with the senator who posted it yesterday to you, congressman, today. >> the hearing comes days after thousands of migrants illegally cross into del rio, texas, were over 10,000 of them camped under a bridge waiting to be processed over the weekend. among those migrants, thousands of patients have reportedly been released into the united states. worse for the administration, biden's border patrol in horseback appearing to use reins shifting back to charges of inappropriate treatment. >> those individuals were placed on administrative leave and will not be interacting with migrants. we will not stand for the inhumane treatment. >> while the white house scours on records for details, it appears that not only has mr. biden failed to visit the southern border since coming in office, hasn't been there in the official capacity as well. check records, so far we have not uncovered that. as for the vice president kamala harris, she has been tagged with the unenviable job of trying to tackle the border crisis. she said yesterday she was deeply troubled what she saw at the border. she says it was horrible, and no human being should be treated that way. shannon? >> shannon: we have more on the reality of what those pictures are about and you and i are going to do a very frightening team test. >> frightening indeed. i'll see you in a few. >> shannon: all these moves are happening against a backdrop of a large gathering of -- the crowd has been shrieking but it's still in the thousands and there is news that another big surge could be coming. bill melugin has been covering the story from the beginning and is back along the border tonight. >> del rio, texas, on wednesday were border patrol is making progress in its gargantuan task to process and clear out all migrants living under the international bridge. the number of migrants still there has dropped to around 5300 as of wednesday afternoon. that's a significant decrease of a climax of nearly 15,000 on saturday as dhs now confirms that they are releasing because some haitian migrants into the u.s. saying in part, "individuals not immediately repatriated are placed in alternatives to detention, detainment, and i.c.e. facility, or released with the legal document, notice to appear in court or report to and i.c.e. office for further immigration processing. fox news witnessed some of those released as busloads of haitian migrants dropped off in the ngo in del rio and given supplies before moving elsewhere into the u.s. beer while other haitian migraines have been seen flying out of del rio airport after they were released from federal custody. some of the migrants are being deported. on one repatriation flight back to haiti, haitian migraines revolted on the tarmac at port-au-prince, throwing shoes at the aircraft and injuring three i.c.e. agents in the process. >> once they boarded the flight, they got government. this administration put i.c.e. officers at great risk. >> they are mass releasing all family units as well as any women who claim to be pregnant. on the other hand, the ones being deported are single adult men and single adult women who are not pregnant. >> shannon: thank you very much. let's get some perspectives on the border crisis now. from another journalist who's been spending time document and conditions in del rio, texas congressman chip roy. welcome back to the both of you. >> thank you. >> thank you, shannon. >> shannon: something secretary said in the meeting today here >> is the border more secure now than it was in your leadership? >> no more secure now than it was recently. >> shannon: what's the assessment of that statement? >> it's completely delusional. we've had 1.4 million apprehensions over the last year. we've had 9500, crossing 10,000 pounds of bentonville pouring into our country. great reporting what's been going on in del rio here the problem is that the american people don't understand the extent to which this reaches up in our community throughout this country in terms of the number of americans who are dying of opioid overdose is because of the narcotics in our country for this is not just a story of the haitians. it's the story of the broken border the cartels operate. we've got border patrol distracted trying to deal with what you are seeing, those pictures that bill has been reporting on so well. wide-open areas of our border where people are flooding in and it's a lot of bad actors. senator cruz and i were there two weeks ago meeting with ranchers, people who run the counties of the cities along the border and they are just absolutely devastated at what's happening in their communities and they are asking, where is joe biden? where is secretary mayorkas? these are border patrol agents being sullied with lies, saying they are using the reins to steer their horses to be able to control the border because of the absolute incompetence purposeful, by the way, of this administration. for the secular to sit there and tell the american people that the border is just as secure when your eyes tell you otherwise? my state come up my home, the people i love and the people i'm trying to represent are being negatively impacted and harmed because of dereliction of duty of the secretary and this president. i can even put into words how offensive this is. >> you mention the characterization of what's going on with our border patrol which is taxed to the max, putting it nicely. i want to play something for maxine waters than what she compared the situation to down there. >> what we witnessed is what we worse than what we witnessed in slavery. cowboys with their rains again whipping black people -- >> shannon: you been down there as well but what do you make of that characterization of what our border patrol is trying to do? >> just shows what an absolute clown world we are living right now p i've been covering the border consistently for the eight months and this has largely been ignored by democrats in the mainstream media. and the one time they are finally speaking out about it, it's based on a complete live. what you have to look at is the actual video of the border patrol agents. they aren't using whips, number one. number two, they are spending the reins, as they are trained to do because the whole point is to prevent people to get too close to the horse so they don't get trampled on become seriously injured. if you look at one of the videos being used as proof that they are whipping them, you'll see that it doesn't make contact with the person. what again it's the whole point. it just absolutely aggravating they can tear about the conditions the migrants are facing. but it's all based on a liar. yet they've had all year talk about the terrible conditions in the border patrol facilities and yet they are focused on something that didn't even happen. >> it does have democrats talking about the border. i filled in earlier today on our afternoon show with john roberts and we talked to a county judge of their down in the border area and he says this spirit will let him say it for himself. >> the democratic county judge, i will tell you right now that it is true. it's happening in our border. it's a sad situation president biden needs to take ownership. >> shannon: he said his own party is not listening to him as he and his community desperately need help. >> let me tell you, these are hispanics who are sick and tired of the administration leaving them completely without any support from the federal government, in danger of struggling. he said it. senator standing next to me a few weeks ago, where is joe biden question mike with the american people need to understand that this is not some crisis that just popped up. these were migrants who were in south america who have been there for a long time, well documented, they've had passports, they had drivers licenses, ids from other countries, and we are finding all of those down at the rio grande. we saw evidence of that today and they came up september 12th, the mexicans were holding them and suddenly in one big mass they came to del rio. this is because migrants are learning around the world to an administration it's basically saying that you have a right to asylum, that means anybody in the world can come to our borders and rush in where that's going to cause massive problems, endangering the american people. this administration is causing it, they can prevent it if they enforce title 42, they can enforce the micro protected protocols which a federal judge ordered them to do and they are refusing to do it. one last thing, senator my arcos is lying we forced a resolution, demanding information, democrats on the hill are blocking it and the secretary will not respond to a letter i sent august 9th with my colleagues demanding answers, they are asking for more information. he refused to do it, they are covering up their failures at the border. >> shannon: peter doocy asked this saying he was sent from one agency to an other, asked jen psaki, do you not know them, it's something you don't want folks to know about. we'll report them on the numbers when they come in. thank you both very much. >> thank you, shannon. >> the mainstream media, usually his allies can what had been of very favorable approval has turned into frustration and criticism. fox news media analysts howard kurtz has that story tonight. >> they finally came! into months, i'll be able to say the next president's name out loud, joe biden. >> "w"" is no longer celebrating joe biden as haitian migrants being mistreated in a border town. >> absolutely more disturbing. >> so disappointed in the biden the administration. so very disappointed. >> also more skeptical at msnbc. >> our vice president, where is she? this was to be in charge of all these migration issues. >> from the covid booster delays, joe biden has the most negative coverage of his presidency. >> he is a big credibility >> still getting hammered for the withdrawal from afghanistan happened. what are we doing to justify or explain what appears to be very bad behavior on our part now? >> we don't see it that way. spigot we had a honest press, this country would be even better. >> while biden isn't facing outright journalistic hostility that defined donald trump's tenure on both sides, reaction as white house supporters were furious when biden met boris johnson, british journalist getting two questions, they got none. it's not unusual for presidents to get tougher on media as problems pile up. what's clear is the mainstream media are no longer giving joe biden the benefit of the doubt. shannon? >> shannon: howard kurtz, thank you very much. we have exclusive new video tonight on the site where gabby pietto's body was found, confirmed that jim schmidt was on the scene wednesday creating a new stone cross and refreshing new flowers on the site in honor of the stepdaughter. search for the missing boyfriend continues. ramping up on authorities to find brian laundry described for now as a person of interest in her death. methane is here to catch up on the new twist in the story. >> the city of north port, florida, says that the search has been halted, nothing found. it'll resume tomorrow. 60 officers from longford when agencies are searching challenging wetlands of the reserve, dive teams, cadaver dogs. >> we deployed numerous resources trying to cover every acre in this reserve. they are motivated and hungry to find brian laundrie there. it's rough out there. yeah. it's rough, it's hot, it's wet. >> the search began last saturday after his family reported him missing,g he left home three days earlier to go to the nature reserve and never returned. the family faces criticism that they might have tried to buy brian laundrie sometime. drove to his parents florida home in a white van he and gabby were traveling in, she was not reported missing for another ten days. as a search continues, more people are now coming forward with stories about their personal experience with brian laundrie and gabby petito on their trip. she says she recalls seeing gabby and reported to the fbi to the wyoming campsite where authorities ended up finding petito's body. >> i saw brian laundrie from ownership or sensor or an ice on parking his van and he was very awkward and confused and it was just him. there was no gabby. >> another couple tells fox news they saw gabby and brian an explosive fight in jackson hole, wyoming, and gabby even apologized for her boyfriend's aggression. gabby's death has been rolled homicide. has not yet revealed a manner of death and we'll keep you updated on that. >> shannon: matt finn, thank you very much. the federal aviation administration calling and major airlines to "take more action, to stop the recent surge of unruly passengers. the faa wants to hear about the airlines plans and a number of days for implementation over the next month. the industry group tells fox business that the organization is on board with the faa's initiative. playing with a not so itsy-bitsy spider, wedding guests in for some epic entertainment. today's best viral videos next. . we just haven't been properly introduced. say hello to the place where rolling hills meets low bills. where our fields, inside and out, are always growing. and where the fun is just getting started. this is iowa. so, when are you coming to see us? >> i like how they put lawful," in there, it is a lawful order. but let's talk about readiness. that's one thing you said when you first opened up. when you hear the number "hundreds of navy seals," this is devastating. you have to understand that on a typical year we are very lucky if we net positive just a couple of seals, meaning those who retire or get out as opposed to make it through training which is a very high attrition rate. you cannot simply mass-produce navy seals. when you hear that number, it's just tens of folks leaving, we have a problem. if we have hundreds, devastating to our national security. decades if not hundreds of years, if not thousands of years of institutional knowledge and experience of war fighting, i've got a lot of text messages from my former colleagues who, of course, will get out. you are talking about senior leaders with massive amounts of knowledge? there is a reason the military uses retention bonuses at that level, right around the 20 year, they know they are going to lose some, but they have to keep a lot of its additional knowledge and leadership that's built up over years. this is a potential dangerous impact on our readiness, if those numbers are true that hundreds of folks are leaving. >> shannon: apparently they will not consider natural immunity, those who had covid and recovered from it become a big debate about it in college, universities, work -- we've seen the number of lawsuits, we had a number of doctors who will come here insights studies incite natural immunity they believe is as good as if not better than vaccines. we are getting new data every day. shouldn't that be part of the consideration to say that these men and women have had the vaccine -- they've had covid, they've got immunity, and at least put them to enlist and make them serve? >> i think so. you'll clues these close to 20 years veterans to institutional knowledge? this is devastating. we are talking about hundreds of navy seals who have a wartime capability in fighting information and knowledge that they have to pass on to the next generation. this is a massive problem. one of the things, even personally i think has been missing from the conversation is natural immunity, like eva said. we've had data -- we've had more data on natural immunity than we had vaccines for a longer time. that has to be in the conversation. if you look at the definition of herd immunity, you're going to read about vaccines alongside natural immunity. i think there should be exemptions for that. just a few hours ago, reporting that the biden administration is against up posing a g.o.p. amendment that would block this honorable discharge is for those who want to get out and don't want to take the vaccine, which is unconscionable that they would try to give someone who has 20 years in a dishonorable discharge which would screw them for life, quite frankly, from employment and other things, when they've served honorably over 20 years or more. it's unconscionable. >> shannon: let's hope that there is bipartisan support. so that that is not their fate very quickly as it moves forward, what do you think it does to the navy seals? do you think it's going to discourage people from trying for what is an incredibly tough position to attain in any scenario? the quickly coming your thoughts on that. >> we are lucky to net positive a couple of seals per year because you talk about over 70% attrition rate. you can't mass-produce navy seals, right?
