Formed in 1993, the French group that redefined electronic music announced their decision on Monday through an 8-minute video called Epilogue. Kathryn Frazier, the band’s longtime publicist, confirmed the news of the split to news agency Associated Press. French musicians Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo who formed Daft Punk were known for donning huge helmets and adopting robotic mannerisms when in public. The pair go long back together as they met each other at a Paris school in 1987 and had even formed an indie rock band named Darling before the creation of Daft Punk.
