Cops arrest 17 so far in investigations into Cheras gang fig

PETALING JAYA: The police have arrested 17 people as investigations into a drug turf war between rival gangs in Taman Juara Jaya, Cheras continues.
"Up until now, 17 people have been arrested. All have been remanded and there are those whose remands will be extended," said Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Fadzil Ahmat in a text message to the media on Wednesday (Feb 3).
He added that a police sweep under Ops Cantas was initiated by the Selangor Criminal Investigations Department.
"Other CIDs in the Selangor contingent have also been mobilised. At the same time, the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department has also been mobilised under this Ops Cantas," he added.
