Board takes next steps to open Jamestown fire station : comp

Plans for building a fire station in rural northwestern Smith County are one step closer to fruition. The Smith County Emergency Services District Board of Commissioners voted to proceed with construction of a new fire station in Jamestown using previously approved architectural plans, which officials said provided the quickest path toward building a permanent station in the community.
