2020 census: Utah s population is more diverse; Vineyard is growing fast

2020 census data illuminate how Utah which grew the most rapidly of any state in the last decade is becoming increasingly diverse. They reveal that 75.4% of Utah’s population is white and not Hispanic, compared to 80.4% a decade earlier.

Mudslides Briefly Close Alpine Loop, Other Roads Around San Juan Mountains

/ The beginning of the Lake City side of the Alpine Loop snakes along the shores of Lake San Cristobal before heading up Cinnamon Pass. Heavy monsoon rains are causing mudslides across the region. The popular Alpine Loop between the towns of Silverton, Lake City, and Ouray was partially closed for two days earlier this week because of slides. Twenty people were stranded overnight while Hinsdale County crews cleared the road. Other slides closed a state highway. Laura Palmisano with KVNF Radio spoke to Hinsdale County Administrator Sandy Hines about the slides. The Interview opens with Hines talking about mudslides on Highway 149 near Lake City.

With new CDC guideline, Coloradans in 38 counties should wear masks in public indoor spaces COLORADO (KRDO) The majority of Colorado is included in a new mask recommendation made by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Tuesday, the CDC recommended vaccinated people should wear masks while in indoor public places in counties with High or Substantial spread of the virus. The CDC defines substantial transmission as 50 or more cases per 100,000 people over a one-week period. According to CDC data, more than 60 percent of US counties have high or substantial transmission of COVID-19. In Colorado, 38 out of the 64 counties fall under high or substantial, that includes El Paso County, Pueblo County, and Teller County.
