Residents of the Knightsbridge Apartments, a five-story building that sits at 2365 Hudson Terrace lost everything in the fire, Mayor Mark Sokolich said.
In response, the community has stepped up with donations that are still being collected along with offers from other apartment co-ops and tenants in town reaching out offering to waive fees. The response has been unbelievable, just good heartfelt offers, Sokolich said noting that churches, synagogues and other public agencies have also reached out to the town to find out how they can help.

FORT LEE A raging fire tore through a five-story apartment building on Hudson Terrace Saturday, turning dozens of people out in the street as firefighters battled to save the structure.
At least one person was rescued from the building and police said they were still trying to account for all residents as of 7 p.m., more than three hours after the fire started. Joel Mendoza, who identified himself as the building superintendent, said he believed everyone in the co-op s 36 apartments had made it out safely.
The blaze snarled traffic and blanketed the area with thick smoke that wafted toward the Hudson River, as flames billowed out of the charred building. Fire departments from Edgewater, Englewood, Cliffside Park, Teaneck and other towns were called in to assist.
