INDIANA, Pa., Jan. 28, 2021 /PRNewswire/ S&T Bancorp, Inc. (S&T) (NASDAQ: STBA), the holding company for S&T Bank, with operations in five markets including Western Pennsylvania, Eastern Pennsylvania, Northeast Ohio, Central Ohio, and Upstate New York, announced its fourth quarter and full year 2020 earnings. Net income was $24.2 million, or $0.62 per diluted share, for the fourth quarter compared to net income of $16.7 million, or $0.43 per diluted share, for the third quarter of 2020, and $22.3 million, or $0.62 per diluted share, for the fourth quarter of 2019.
Net income was $21.0 million, or $0.53 per diluted share, for the year ended December 31, 2020 compared to net income of $98.2 million, or $2.82 per diluted share, for 2019. A loss of $58.7 million was recognized during the second quarter of 2020 related to a customer fraud resulting from a check kiting scheme. This fraud loss reduced net income by $46.3 million, or $1.19 per dilut

A United Elementary student was recently named in the top 10 of statewide elementary divisions in a financial literacy contest.
The Pennsylvania Council on Financial Literacy announced United Elementary fifth grader Remington Roddek was a top finisher in its Stock Market Challenge. The competition, also held at the school and regional levels, teaches kids about how to invest in stocks, make stock market trades, analyze markets and build stock market portfolios through a competition against other students.
The program was sponsored by S&T Bank. Roddek was assisted in the competition by teacher Craig Bytner. Roddek moved out of the district after the end of the contest, according to elementary principal Lewis Kindja
