Redrow, which built the luxury Lymington Shores development, volunteered the use of vacant industrial units it owns at nearby Ampress Park. The testing centre is being used by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Local Resilience Forum and will be open on selected dates this month. The site is in a non-residential area and boasts plenty of space for cars being driven out. Ian Sneddon, managing director of Redrow Southern Counties, said: We are pleased to be able to support the local effort against Covid-19 in a small way.

A Covid testing centre has opened in the Furlong car park in Ringwood. A NEW testing centre for people with suspected coronavirus has opened in Hampshire. The walk-through facility at the Furlong car park in Ringwood is offering tests to anyone displaying symptoms, however mild. Appointments can be booked online or by calling 119. Testing is free and involves a swab of the nose and back of the throat, which takes less than a minute to complete. Anyone testing positive will be contacted by NHS Test and Trace. This will help to identify their close contacts and protect others in the community from further transmission of the virus.
