Although many of the Wareham High School Key Club’s typical service events were off-limits due to the ongoing pandemic, the club still achieved recognition on many fronts this year.
According to advisor Matt Stanton, members of Key Club found ways to “provide service while maintaining the COVID protocols” and made the most of the year.
“The students elected to do the best they could with the cards they were dealt,” he said. Of the nearly 200 Key Clubs in the district, Wareham High School’s Key Club was one of five schools in New England to achieve Diamond Distinguished Key Club recognition for leadership development and service.

Selectman Alan Slavin proposed a zero quorum for future Wareham Fire District meetings.
In stark contrast with the lengthy and controversial Special Town Meeting on April 10, voters at the Wareham Fire District’s annual meeting approved nearly everything on the docket without much discussion or any objection during a speedy 40-minute meeting Monday, April 12.
Despite the chilly, overcast evening, 61 voters gathered at 6 p.m. for the drive-in style district meeting, which was held in the Wareham High School parking lot.
Speak with Wareham High School senior Grace Brogioli for five seconds, and you know you are speaking with a special kid. Not only has Brogioli enjoyed success on the athletic fields on Viking Drive, more importantly, she has excelled inside the classrooms there.
Brogioli has been selected as one of just two student-athletes in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to receive the 2021 National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Scholar/Essay Scholarship.
The second-year captain of Wareham s field hockey team, Brogioli told Fun 107 about how she remembered joining the team as an eighth-grader. She said she was so nervous to be playing with girls that were seniors on the team, but they went out of their way to make her feel comfortable. Now that Brogioli is a senior, she said she wanted to make sure to create that same environment for her younger sister and the other eighth graders on this year s team.
