Newcomers fall short in Town Election

May 4, 2021 Voters ultimately favored familiar faces in the May 4 Town Election.  Alan Slavin was reelected to his seat on the Board of Selectmen by 40 percent of voters. Write-in candidate Tricia Wurtz earned 33 percent of the vote, while Finance Committee Member Glenn Lawrence earned 26 percent. Two percent of voters left that question blank. Apryl Rossi and Geoff Swett were elected to seats on the School Committee, receiving 25 and 26 percent of the vote, respectively. Newcomer Brennan McKiernan earned 18 percent of votes, while Ron Besse earned 15 percent. The remaining 15 percent of voters left the question blank. Just under 7 percent of registered voters participated in the election, which included five other uncontested races.
