It’s a little surprising to me and I don’t know why when I flip through this week’s paper how many of the stories in it are about how communities can work together to make changes them stronger.
During the 123
rd Philippines Independence Day this weekend, COVID-19 stopped the big celebration they were hoping to have, but instead, the Wetaskiwin Filipino Community Foundation had a motorcade and opened a Community Pantry to mark the occasion. Both of those activities are a part of Filipino culture and heritage. The Community Pantry shows how those with very little can thrive because they share what they have.
