Naomi Campbell s charity is facing calls to improve its governance after accounts revealed it spent more than £1.6 million on a spectacular fundraising gala in Cannes – yet gave only £5,000 to good causes over the same period. Shoeaholics opens new Westfield London store

Shoeaholics opens new Westfield London store Kurt Geiger-owned off-price footwear retailer Shoeaholics has opened a new store at Westfield London in White City. The store is 25,000 sq ft, making it the retailer’s largest UK shoe shop. Shoeaholics was established in 2014 by Kurt Geiger as an off-price online pureplay. It stocks brands including Aldo, Carvela, Steve Madden, Kurt Geiger, Birkenstock, Skechers, Fitflop, Hunter and Superga at between 30% and 40% lower than the recommended retail price. The company said sales reached £25m in 2020. The retailer already has stores located in Oxford Street, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, Livingston Designer Outlet, Birmingham NEC Designer Outlet, Dalton Designer Outlet, and Swindon Designer Outlet.

Judy Joo to launch second Korean fried chicken restaurant Canary Wharf

Judy Joo has chosen Canary Wharf’s Jubilee Place for her second Seoul Bird restaurant. Expected to launch in late June, the new site will offer the same fast casual experience and Korean fried-chicken focused menu as The menu is a fusion of Korea and America, offering tater tots served with gochujang mayonnaise and mac ‘n’ cheese spiked with kimchi. The chicken is served up in a similar way to most chicken shops with a selection of boneless thighs, wings and tenders. The poultry is brined in soy for 24-hours before being double-fried in rapeseed oil for a glass-like crunch.
