Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], January 27 (ANI): Air Marshal TD Joseph, who is a Senior Air Staff Officer (SASO) at Headquarters Training Command of Indian Air Force in Karnataka s Bengaluru has been bestowed Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) on the occasion of Republic Day 2021 for his meritorious service.
Joseph was commissioned into the Indian Air Force (IAF) as a fighter pilot in December 1982, informed an official release on Wednesday. The Air Marshal was the winner of the Nawanagar Sword of Honour and President s Plaque for standing first in Order of Merit in his batch of pilots. He has flown over 3800 hours on various fighter and trainer aircraft. He is a Category A Qualified Flying Instructor with over 1500 hours of instructional experience and was an Air Force Examiner. He has commanded a Fighter Squadron in the Eastern Sector,

Kochi (Kerala) [India], January 26 (ANI): A ceremonial parade was held at the naval base, Southern Naval Command (SNC) at Kerala s Kochi on Tuesday to commemorate the nation s 72nd Republic Day.
As per an official statement issued by the SNC, The parade was reviewed by Vice Admiral AK Chawla, the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOC-in-C) SNC and comprised 12 platoons.
Prior to arriving on the Parade, the Commander-in-Chief paid floral tributes to the martyrs by laying a wreath at the War Memorial.

The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, in the coming days, will confer the VSM on Group Captain Harisankar at a function to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The honour is conferred in recognition of distinguished service of high order and lifetime achievements in service to the nation and is a prestigious peacetime military award in the country.
Group Captain Harisankar is functioning as Command Engineering Officer and presently posted at Southern Air Command since July 2020.
Group Captain Harisankar is a native of Karamana in Thiruvananthapuram He is an alumnus of College of Engineering, Trivandrum and joined Indian Air Force (IAF) Aeronautical Engineering Mechanical Branch in 1990.

New Delhi [India], January 26 (ANI): Captain Preeti Choudhary, the only female participant in the Republic Day parade this year from the Indian Army, led the upgraded Schilka weapon system contingent which featured in the parade for the first time this year.
Choudhary, of 140 Air Defence Regiment (Self Propelled), had last marched on Rajpath in the 2016 Republic Day celebration as a cadet with the National Cadet Corps (NCC).
