WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Wis. - An owl was injured after it flew into a Winnebago County driver s truck on Thursday, May 13.
According to the Winnebago County Sheriff s Office, the driver was traveling in the Town of Winchester with his window partially open when the owl hit the top of the door frame and flew into the open window.
The owl landed on the driver s neck and rolled into the back seat.
The driver was not injured. However, the owl sustained an injury to its left wing.

WINCHESTER – Deputies rescued an owl Thursday after it flew into a man’s open truck window while he was driving on Lakeview Road.
The man called around 9:30 p.m. and said an owl flew into his truck in the town of Winchester, according to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said the man was driving west on Lakeview Road with his window partially open when the owl hit the top of the door frame, flew into the open window, hit the driver’s neck and landed in the back seat.
Officials said the driver wasn’t injured, but the owl had an injury to its left wing. Deputies named the bird “Owlfred,” and he was taken to Wildlife of Wisconsin for treatment.

MENASHA - Police arrested a Neenah man Thursday in connection with a burglary this week at St. Thomas Church.
The Episcopal church, located at 226 Washington St., was broken into Tuesday, according to Menasha police. Someone stole scrip fundraising cards, gift cards, a small amount of cash from a locked safe and silver items from the church s sacristy, which were also in a locked safe, the church wrote in a Facebook post Tuesday. The Winnebago County Sheriffs and Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene of an accident on U. S. Highway 69 north of Forest City on Wednesday. The accident involved a 2020 Ford van and a 2014 Chevy Equinox.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office redirects traffic off U. S. Highway 69 and onto 360th Street in Forest City.
When officials arrived, they found injuries to both vehicle passengers. They learned that the van was northbound on U. S. 69 and had pulled into a residential drive. The driver attempted to make a u-turn and turned directly into the path of a second northbound vehicle, Chevy Equinox.

Four people were injured in a two-vehicle wreck north of Forest City Wednesday afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol says the collision occurred shortly before 12:30 p.m. along Highway 69 near the intersection with Winnebago County Road A-44. A 2020 Ford van being driven northbound on Highway 69, then pulled into a residential drive, attempted to make a U-turn and turned into the path of a northbound 2014 Chevy Equinox.
Injured were 76-year-old Sondra Nelson, 77-year-old Cheryl Cavett, 78-year-old Janet Bergo, and 80-year-old Paula Schreiner, all of Lake Mills. Nelson, Schreiner and Cavett were all transported by Forest City Ambulance to Mercy One Hospital in Mason City, while Bergo was airlifted to the hospital by Mercy Air One. All were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. The drivers of the vehicles were not identified.
