Reidsville basketball and football star Breon Pass has been named as the male athlete of the year at HighSchoolOT Honors.
Pass was a key contributor to Reidsville s three-time state champion football team as a wide receiver.
On the basketball court, Pass helped establish Reidsville as a regular contender in 2A basketball, cementing himself as one of the state s top players and earning a scholarship to play at NC State.
In 2020, Pass was nominated for the Stuart Scott Courage Award at HighSchoolOT Honors for the way he handled the passing of his father, also his head basketball coach, and continued on as a leader for the Ram programs.
It certainly wasn't the prettiest game they've played all season, but South Rowan's baseball team was able to clinch the third playoff bid in the Central Carolina 2A Conference with a 6-3 win at Salisbury on Tuesday.

Raleigh, N.C. Salisbury s football team waited nearly 17 months for the opportunity to avenge its 34-0 loss to Shelby in the state championship game. And on Thursday, the Hornets finally got to seize that opportunity with a 42-21 win over St. Pauls to lift the 2AA title at Carter Finley Stadium.
Things didn t always go smoothly this season for the Hornets (9-2, 4-2 Central Carolina 2A), who received a wild card bid to the postseason after finishing third in their conference behind North Davidson and Oak Grove. But while they may not have gotten to claim the conference crown, the second state championship trophy in program history will have to suffice.

Salisbury s football team brought the physicality on its homecoming night, using a ground and pound attack to wear down Ledford in a 42-6 win on Thursday.
Leading the way for the Hornets (4-2, 3-2 Central Carolina 2A) was senior dual-threat quarterback Vance Honeycutt. Honeycutt was efficient in the air, completing 10 of 15 passes (66.7 percent) for 121 yards and a touchdown. But he consistently showed he s most dangerous when the play breaks down and he s able to escape the pocket, as he racked up 16 carries for 133 yards (8.3 yards per carry) and four rushing TDs.
